Hello,

Wonderful woman,

And welcome to your body image and body gratitude meditation.

So to start off,

Just finding a comfortable seat or a comfortable place where you can lie down.

It doesn't matter which position you choose really as long as you're comfortable and warm enough.

Just when you're settled,

Letting your eyes close gently,

If that feels okay for you.

We'll just take a few deep breaths to help ourselves arrive in our body today.

Just taking a deep breath in,

Filling the lungs,

Feeling the expansion in the body.

For a long slow exhale,

Releasing tension in the face,

Around the eyes,

Softening,

Softening.

With a deep inhale,

Filling the belly,

Feeling the chest and the ribcage expand.

A long slow exhale,

Letting go,

Tension in the neck,

In the shoulders,

The arms,

The hands.

With a deep inhale,

Again feeling that expansion,

All the sensations of taking that breath in,

Holding at the top just for a bit,

Feeling that fullness.

And a long slow exhale,

Letting go of any remaining tension and letting that exhale just bring you in your body.

Now I invite you to place your hand gently on your heart and invite in a sense of gratitude.

And this can be done by simply thinking of something you are actually feeling grateful for at the moment,

Even something as simple as having a roof over your head,

Having time to do this meditation.

Just sensing what gratitude feels like in your heart and maybe if there is a colour to that feeling,

Imagining that colour filling your heart and gradually expanding to fill your whole body even a bit beyond,

As if you are cocooned in the colour and the sense of gratitude.

I'm just going to say a few phrases and the invitation is to let the words just seep in to your body,

Seep in to that cocoon that we've created.

I'm grateful to my body for her taking me through my days,

For her taking me through life,

For all the things that she does for me on a daily basis.

I'm grateful to my feet,

Helping me ground myself on the earth,

Feeling my roots,

Helping me walk through my days,

Sending that light touch of gratitude to your feet.

I'm grateful for my legs,

The long strong muscles of the thighs,

The calves,

Helping me to walk,

To run,

To swim,

To dance,

To move in the ways I love,

For carrying me through my days,

Sensing that gratitude for your legs,

All the work that they do.

I am grateful to my bottom for helping me cushion my seat.

I need to sit down when I need to rest,

Sending gratitude to my bottom.

I don't always send gratitude to our bottoms.

Now is a good time to do so.

I am grateful to my hips for helping me bend,

Swivel,

Helping my legs in their walking.

I'm grateful to them for allowing me to dance,

Sending that colour,

That warmth of gratitude around your hips,

The pelvic area.

I'm grateful to my belly for helping me digest food and experiences,

For helping me process what needs to be let go of or needs to be taken in,

For keeping me nourished and well fed,

Sending gratitude to my belly.

I am grateful to my chest,

The house and home of my heart,

My body,

Helping me taking in and releasing breath,

Help keep my precious organs protected,

Sending gratitude all around my chest.

I'm grateful to my shoulders for carrying so much,

So much of life,

Sending gratitude to my strong shoulders,

All the way down my arms and my hands that allow me to embrace the people I love,

To apprehend the world in a sensual way through my touch,

My hands crafting,

Writing,

So grateful to my arms and hands,

Sending gratitude and thanks.

I'm so grateful to my back,

My spine,

Keeping me upright,

Standing tall,

Keeping my skeleton in balance,

All the muscles of the back,

Sending gratitude to my whole back.

I'm grateful to my neck and my throat,

The seat of my expression,

Where my voice comes from in the neck,

Keeping my head up,

Freeing the flow of energy,

Sending so much gratitude to my neck and throat.

I'm so grateful to my face for allowing me to express myself in the world,

The people I love to recognize me,

My mouth for tasting delicious food,

My nose for smelling wonderful scents,

My eyes to gaze on the people I love,

My ears for listening to music,

To dear voices,

To meditations.

I'm grateful to my mind,

My brain,

Keeping this whole operation going,

Allowing me to form thoughts and ideas,

Understand,

Comprehend,

Grow,

Learn,

And share,

Sending gratitude to my entire body for all that she does,

Bathing once more in that color and that energy,

That warmth of gratitude.

You can bring your hand back to your heart if it has left it and really feel the warmth there,

Simple,

Gentle care,

Giving thanks to your body,

All that she is,

All that she was,

And all she will be.

Feel free to rest here for as long as you wish.

If you're ready to come out of the meditation,

Find some movement in your fingers and your toes,

Give yourself a nice big stretch and open your eyes when you're ready.

I hope you enjoyed this meditation.

Go in peace,

Go gentle,

Healthy,

And have a wonderful day.
