Welcome to The Weekly Dream,
A repository of guided meditative journeys that aim to uplift,
Inspire,
And relax you.
Our themes revolve around astrology,
Mythology,
The seasons,
And more.
I'm your host,
Brittany Bryan,
And I invite you to sit back,
Get comfortable,
Grab a blanket,
Some tea,
Or a cat or two.
Dream and Drive,
Let's begin.
Welcome back to The Weekly Dream.
It's almost June at the time of the publishing of this episode,
And there has recently been a full moon in the sign of Sagittarius.
And that full moon had the support of the planet of Venus,
Which has to do with love,
Desire,
And creative activities,
Among other things.
It also had the support of the planet Jupiter,
Which is my favorite planet because I love everything that it stands for.
On an astrological level,
It expands and enriches everything it comes into contact with.
It symbolizes personal growth,
Philosophy,
Religion and or spirituality,
Faith,
Optimism,
Higher education,
Travel,
Basically all manners of expanding our horizons,
And also just simply gain,
Really.
It can indicate financial success,
Luck,
And abundance.
And I don't think I want to get any more into the weeds of why this was a pretty nice,
Benefic full moon.
You can listen to Chani Nicholas' podcast if you're interested in the details.
I also stumbled upon an intuitive astrologer on YouTube recently that I really liked,
Michelle Correzeo,
Whose name I am probably pronouncing wrong,
But her channel is called Realization Hub.
Those are two places you can check out if you are interested in the dirty astrological details.
But suffice it to say that this period of time before,
During,
And after this full moon has been about moving towards activities and relationships that bring personal fulfillment and expansion,
Which is something I've been thinking about a lot lately.
And again,
I don't want to assume what's going on in anyone's lives,
But regardless of how much this theme does or does not resonate with you at the moment,
I think it's fantastic astrology if you are or were recently looking to make a shift in your life that leads to greater authenticity or fulfillment.
And you know,
Sometimes we have clarity about what that shift is.
Sometimes we know when something is off and exactly what it will take to course correct.
But I'm also certain that there are plenty of other times when that solution evades us or is a little less clear,
A little more murky.
And when that happens,
Sometimes all we can do is get really quiet and sit with ourselves and listen for an answer.
Which is totally not what our Western brains and values have wired us to do,
And which is maybe why you're here anyways.
So this week,
We're going to get quiet and we're going to practice listening to our innermost selves.
And it's important to note that the operating word here is practice.
It's hard.
It can be really hard in modern society to do what appears to be nothing,
To be still,
To be gentle,
To go inward.
So I invite you to come back to this episode whenever you want to flex that muscle of getting quiet and opening a conversation with yourself.
The deep parts of yourself that are always there but are not always accessed.
Let's begin.
Start by getting into a more comfortable position.
Stretch out your legs.
Maybe lie back.
Try to give some length to the spine so you can practice deep breathing into your belly.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in for 1,
2,
3,
4,
And hold 2,
3,
4,
And release 2,
3,
4.
Let's do that one more time.
Take a deep breath in for 1,
2,
3,
4,
And hold 2,
3,
4,
And release 2,
3,
4.
In this stillness,
I invite you to imagine yourself somewhere that feels very secure,
Very safe to you,
A happy place,
If you will.
Maybe this is somewhere within your own home,
Or maybe it's your childhood home,
Or the home of a friend,
A favorite park or restaurant,
A club,
A bookstore.
It can be anything,
Anywhere.
Maybe it's somewhere you've never even been before but can picture very clearly in your mind's eye.
Take a moment to imagine yourself in this place.
What sounds do you hear?
Can you hear the voices of others talking or laughing?
Is there music?
Are there sounds of nature,
Birdsong,
Wind,
Waves?
What can you smell?
And what can you feel?
Are you standing in a room or are you sitting in a chair?
If it's the latter,
What is the chair made of?
How does it conform to your body?
Is there food or drinks?
And what are those flavors?
Maybe you're sprawled out in the grass or on the sand.
If so,
What time of day is it?
Are there clouds in the sky?
What color are they?
What shape?
Is there a breeze against your skin and is it warm or cool?
In this safe place,
I want you to imagine yourself becoming very relaxed.
Regardless of what is going on around you,
Close your eyes and bring awareness to yourself,
Just to you.
Maybe there's still the sound of conversation,
Music,
Or birdsong on the air,
But it grows quieter for a moment as you take a deep breath in and out.
And do that one more time.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
I want you to ask yourself what it is about this place that brings you joy.
Why did you choose to be here?
What parts of it do you appreciate the most?
What are the things that,
If you could experience on a daily basis,
You would?
What would you take with you?
And then stop thinking about it.
Simply sit with this feeling of joy,
Or peace,
Or contentment,
Or all of the above,
And let it sink in for a couple of moments.
Eventually,
Imagine how it might feel to experience these emotions more regularly and how you might bring that about,
Whether that means making more time to be around friends,
Or meeting new people,
Or being in nature more often,
Or living somewhere altogether different from where you are now.
In this relaxed state,
Your true self knows what you want.
It knows what's missing,
If something is missing,
Regardless of how big or small that change might be.
Let it come to you now,
Without judgment,
Fear,
Or concern about how you'll get there,
How you might implement those changes.
Right now,
Simply float in this safe space,
And let yourself become aware,
Or at least begin to become aware,
Of who you are and what you need the most in the world.
Let it come to you in slow,
Gentle,
Joyous waves.
A few moments,
Or hours,
Or days later,
You wake up safe and sound in the waking world.
You begin to bring movement to your fingers and your toes,
Going slowly.
You open your eyes,
Give your whole body a big stretch,
And then take a deep breath in for 1,
2,
3,
4,
And hold 2,
3,
4,
And exhale 2,
3,
4.
Thank you so much for joining me in this dream.
Until next time.
