This practice was designed to calm racing thoughts and guide you to a relaxed state,
Leaving you with a clear mind full of acceptance and peace.
So go ahead,
Find a comfortable position seated or lying down and gently allow your eyes to close.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
You don't have to change or alter your breath.
Gently bring your awareness to your natural breath.
Noticing the pulse of your inhale and exhale,
A gentle ebb and flow like ocean waves.
Feeling the rise and fall of your belly.
Inhale,
Exhale all the way out.
Softening your forehead,
Temples,
Cheeks,
Mouth.
Finding a slight separation between your teeth,
Relaxed jaw.
Full natural inhale,
Exhale settling in.
Begin to access your imagination.
In your mind's eye visualize a vivid blue sky.
Your very own inner sky.
Clear and still.
With each breath the sky becomes a more radiant blue.
Feeling a sense of deep calm wash over your entire body.
As you continue to watch the sky thoughts will arise in your mind.
Visualize your thoughts as clouds in the sky.
Knowing them to appear and dissolve without effort or strain.
Letting go of the need to fix anything.
No need to analyze a cloud.
Simply allow it to appear,
Dissolve in its own time.
Observe them as if you're laying in a park watching the clouds from below.
Continuing to breathe,
Gentle inhale,
Exhale.
Simply allowing the clouds to drift without effort.
Emotions may arise too.
Understanding your emotions as storm clouds.
Allow them to be exactly as they are.
Appearing and dissolving.
Being slow and steady as you observe the clouds.
A cloud may darken or block your inner sky and that's okay.
Having any darkness to be there without avoiding or rejecting it.
See if you can totally open up and accept.
It's okay for the clouds to be there.
It's a natural part of the sky.
Allowing them to appear and dissolve.
No effort or strain.
Gentle inhale,
Exhale.
Observing your clouds.
Relaxed at peace.
Feeling,
Allowing them to appear exactly as they are.
No need to change or fix what you are experiencing.
Knowing you can always choose to sit back and watch the clouds.
Trusting that your light of awareness is enough.
Continue to imagine this peaceful blue inner sky while allowing my words to settle in.
Breathing in,
You are safe.
Breathing out.
There is nothing you have to do in this moment.
Breathing in,
You are supported.
Breathing out,
Feeling a deep sense of calm wash over your body.
Take your deepest breath of the day.
Inhale.
Exhale settling in to this new found peace.
Gently allow the meditation to fade,
Letting go of the image of the sky.
Bringing your awareness back to your physical body.
Noticing any sounds in the room.
Noticing your body making contact with the support beneath you.
Gently begin to flicker your eyes open.
Inhale.
Deep exhale.
Feeling this feeling of peace and calm into the rest of your day.
