This soothing practice helps you transform the negative aspects of your relationship to yourself, the ones that reinforce the habits that lead to the chronic stress and anxiety within you. As you learn how to adapt in real time, the grip that stress and anxiety have on you will lessen and the tools you learn to use will become even stronger and more effective. Make yourself comfortable either sitting or lying down.

Then allow yourself to settle.

Allow yourself to become still and quiet.

Allow your body to relax.

You don't need to be doing anything right now.

Let go of thoughts of the day.

There's only one thing you need to do.

Listen closely to my voice.

You don't need to be doing anything right now.

Let go of thoughts of the day.

Let go of stress,

Anxiety,

Worry,

And tension.

The only thing you need to do is stay with my voice.

Listen very closely.

Allow your body to relax.

Turn off your nervous tension.

Turn off your need for control.

Turn off your need to be something.

Turn off your need to fix yourself.

Turn off your need to find a solution.

Stop resisting life.

Open up to it.

Be present.

Be fully present and awake.

And listen closely.

Your body is a sensitive instrument.

Every thought,

Word,

Movement,

Action affects you.

Your posture,

Your belief system,

Your self-image,

All of that affects you.

A single thought can cause tension or stress in the body or lightness and release.

And this choice is entirely up to you.

You choose and no one else.

You choose the weight that you put on your thoughts.

You choose how you hold yourself when you're sitting or standing.

You choose how you feel about your body.

You choose how to feel about yourself.

And all of these things can change.

And it's not as hard as you might think to do that.

Let's explore this idea.

As you lie still,

I want you to imagine that you have hundreds of channels or lines or pathways running through your body.

And every one of those lines or pathways is lit up.

They're bright,

Luminescent,

Glowing.

And these channels or pathways have something flowing through them.

You can call it prana,

Chi,

Energy,

Light,

Whatever feels right to you.

And there is always movement,

Even though you're lying still.

Now I want you to let go of any tension that you feel around these channels.

Allow the gripping that surrounds the channels to let go.

Allow the stickiness to unstick.

Allow the holding or the tension to release.

So that now the channels open up.

So the pathways have no resistance.

And notice everywhere that your body is lit up.

Your arms,

Legs,

Pelvis,

Torso,

Neck,

Face,

Head.

Then feel the pathways,

The energy,

The prana,

The chi,

The light pass through your digestive organs.

Then let it pass through your lungs,

Your heart,

Your jaw,

Your eyes,

Your brain,

Your entire body.

Now your body feels deeply,

Deeply relaxed.

At the same time,

It is bright,

Awake,

Alive,

Incredibly sensitive to its surroundings.

Your body is a highly sensitive instrument.

You feel the touch of air on your skin,

The soft breath move through you,

Your eyes moving under your eyelids,

Your brain active,

Nervous system buzzing.

You are so sensitive to it all,

So calm and so peaceful.

Because you have no resistance,

You feel everything.

Sadness,

Joy,

Anger,

Frustration,

Love.

Desire,

Craving,

Contentment,

Laughter.

Freedom,

Confinement.

It's all there.

The totality of who you are,

It's all there.

And you are not reacting.

You are not resisting.

You are not judging.

All there is,

Is a pure,

Direct connection to you,

Your experience of yourself.

And you feel it all.

Now embrace it all.

Love it all,

Simply because it's you.

Accept it.

Find forgiveness.

And hold it sacred.

Be good to it.

And just let it be what it is.

As you allow yourself to surrender to this feeling.

Surrender to the experience of the totality of who you are.

Now you know how to experience the body as a sensitive instrument.

And you understand how every thought and belief that you have affects your precious body and mind.

You understand how you must care for and nurture this beautiful,

Sensitive being with big,

Enormous love and forgiveness and ease.

Stay with this for a little while longer.

Allow yourself to surrender.

At that point,

Feel free to make your way out of the meditation or remain longer as you choose.
