It is okay to experience what I'm feeling.
It is okay to feel what I'm feeling.
It is human to feel your feelings.
Somewhere along the way we were told that feeling our feelings is too much.
Maybe it's too womanly.
Maybe you're too sensitive.
And it's just too much.
But when will it ever be enough?
Feeling our feelings allow those feelings to move with fluidity through our being and through our bodies so that they don't get stuck.
And when they do get stuck they are bound to erupt.
So feel your feelings.
Because what's the worst that could possibly happen if you do?
Settling into our bodies and settling into our breath.
Taking a moment to check in with ourselves and notice how we are feeling in this moment.
How are you feeling?
No seriously how are you feeling?
And how have you been breathing?
On the in breath we invite stillness.
And on the out breath releasing any tension that may have followed us up until this very moment.
Allowing ourselves to find rest and refuge.
Taking a deep inhale in through the nose.
Letting it all go through the mouth.
And again taking a deep inhale in through the nose.
Letting it all go through the mouth.
Noticing how you're feeling.
How your body is feeling.
Noticing any obvious tension that might still be there.
Even if there is,
Using the breath to disarm tension and resistance.
Allowing ourselves to rest.
Placing our left hands over our hearts and our right hands over our stomachs.
Seeing ourselves here with compassion and with love and with understanding.
Understanding that we are human.
Noticing the beating of your heart and the rising and falling of your chest and stomachs.
I invite you,
If it feels right,
To repeat the series of affirmations after me.
All my feelings are valid and require no explanation.
I listen to and value my feelings.
I am solely responsible for how and what I feel.
I trust my feelings.
I honor my feelings.
I accept my feelings.
I am not defined by what and how I feel.
My feelings simply inform me.
I am safe to experience my feelings.
I give myself permission to feel my feelings.
It is perfectly okay to feel how I am feeling.
Within each feeling lies a lesson.
And when the teacher arrives,
The class is in session.
I learn my lessons and stay focused on my blessings.
I am feeling for the sake of my healing.
Taking a moment now just allowing those words to settle and find refuge in your body,
In your mind,
And in your spirits.
Feeling whatever comes up just to be there with no judgment,
With full appreciation and open awareness.
Feeling to heal and healing to feel.
Taking a deep inhale in through the nose.
Letting it all go through the mouth.
Taking a moment just to check in with ourselves and notice how we're feeling in this present moment.
No really,
How are you feeling now in this present moment?
And as this practice comes to an end,
We become present back into our bodies and back to our breath.
Taking a moment to notice any sensations,
Any sounds,
Any feelings that might have arisen.
Inviting movement back into our hands and into our toes.
And whenever it feels right for you,
Slowly and gently opening your eyes and thanking yourself for being in practice.
