Thanks for joining me here today.

This meditation is about healing your broken heart.

We all go through tremendous difficulties in our lives,

Challenges,

Upheavals,

Relationships coming to an end,

Death of a loved one.

And for sure over these last few years,

This pandemic that we have struggled through now here in 2022 for two years has been dealing us a pretty nasty hand that we've all had to struggle with,

Both in getting sick,

Some people that we love approaching a level of illness that has brought them close to dying,

And of course,

Hundreds of thousands who have died here in the United States and millions across the world.

So we all have broken hearts from so much of these experiences in our lives.

And it seems like it's a good idea to work toward healing our hearts.

And I thought a meditation for just that healing process might be really helpful.

I've worked with thousands of therapy clients and coaching clients who have had broken hearts,

And those hearts are broken oftentimes by loss of some sort,

Sometimes a loss of a dream or loss of a job or loss of standing in the community.

And also it's just so often the loss of relationship,

But also the loss of a loved one,

Of course.

I personally have had a lot of loss in my life from losing relationships to losing family members.

And I've been incredibly sad about all of those occurrences happening in my life.

So I thought that we could have a meditation that would help heal our broken hearts.

So why don't we move into that now,

If you're ready.

So find a good comfortable position that works well for you,

Whether that's sitting up or lying down.

And let's move with a few nice easy breaths into our center,

That state within us that holds a place of calm and stillness.

And on our inhale in this breath,

Let's just relax into that inhale and relax into the exhale.

And take another inhale and another exhale.

And you might feel your body moving into a state of relaxation now.

And let's do one more easy inhale and a nice relaxed exhale.

And as our body relaxes and our breath slows down,

Let's find our way into our center,

Into the stillness within us.

And even if we're dealing with a broken heart with sadness and grief,

From my experience,

There is still that place of quiet calm,

That place within us that holds our own stability,

Our own certainty that is solid and has clarity and is forever present for us if we'll just tap into it.

And it may take practice to come into your center,

Come into this state that is so still.

But we can all do it.

We can all find that state of mind,

That state of being that has that level of quiet calmness and clarity.

It just takes practice,

Just like anything else.

So find your way into your center and hold that quiet place for just a moment,

Letting yourself relax into the center of your being.

And as you sit in your center,

Now that you've come to that place,

Feel that sense that you have of having a broken heart,

Of intense sadness and grief.

And allow yourself in your center to feel the ground of your own being,

The solidity and strength of who you are as a person.

Allow yourself in your center to ground into that solid sense of you.

And feel the strength of your own stability,

Your own solidity.

And from this place in your center,

Give yourself permission to feel the sadness.

Give yourself permission to feel the grief,

Just as it is.

Let yourself feel sad.

Let yourself grieve.

And at the same time,

Let yourself feel your center,

Calmness,

Stillness.

And that as a vibrant,

Capable and complex person,

You can hold both of these realities,

Both the sadness and the stillness in your own awareness.

So let yourself feel both sadness and stillness.

Grief and calm.

Let it be okay to feel those feelings and let it be okay to be strong within your center as the person that you are.

And as you feel both of these realities within yourself,

You might imagine them coming together and merging into one.

You might imagine them merging inside your heart so that your heart now feels the strength of the stillness,

The calmness of who you are as a person.

And at the same time,

Your heart feels the sadness and the grief.

Hold these realities together in your heart and allow your heart to be strong.

In your heart,

Healing and giving yourself permission to both feel and be still so that it doesn't create a huge upset or a sense of despair or being distraught,

But simply feeling sad and simply feeling strong.

You might visualize a beautiful white healing light surrounding your heart,

Being absorbed into your heart and healing the upset or the despair so that that sense of despair gradually diminishes and you simply give yourself permission to feel sad.

And your heart in this white light of healing,

Your heart heals.

So visualize your heart actually healing.

Use your imagination.

Picture it in your mind if you can.

And if you can't see it,

If you can't visualize it,

That's okay.

You can simply pretend to visualize it or think about your heart healing and allow that healing to come into your heart and become pervasive so that the strength that you have as a person allows you to feel sad.

And then one final step,

Feel your heart healing sad and grieving.

And at the same time,

Feel your heart healing,

Coming back together,

Surrounded with this white healing light.

And then allow this light to expand all through your body so that your body heals as well.

Your belly,

Your mind,

All of your systems being totally infused with this white healing light.

Feel that healing expanding and intensifying throughout your entire body and hold that healing with all of your strength for just one more moment as all of you heals from this grief and sadness and broken heart.

And then release yourself from this broken heart and simply be who you are as a person.

Let it go.

You just are who you are.

Let it go.

All you have to do if your heart feels broken is come back to this meditation.

Imagine both sides,

The sadness and the stillness and bring them together into your heart.

Bring them together with this white,

Beautiful healing light.

And then let it go.

The more you practice this,

The more your heart will heal.

So we'll let it go now.

We'll begin to come out of our meditation,

Feeling that this healing has begun in our hearts.

So come back into the room that you're sitting in.

Come back into your body.

Come back into this moment in time.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Thanks again for joining me today and take good care of your heart.

Namaste.

Thank you very much. It was very dufficult for me to connect my sadness with my stilness. In my stilness is light and in my sadness is no light at all. Now i understand i need to let it in to be healed by light not to take over my light. I will do this meditation very often in the coming time. I think my healing has finally begon.

Accepting grief is a part of life and bringing awareness to the grief. Hard to do at the time of losing a dear one when everything is Raw and maybe easier as times go by. Thankyou Don 🙏🏻
