Welcome to this guided meditation for dealing with grief.

Grief can be overwhelming,

But this feeling does not last forever.

One of the most difficult experiences in life is losing a loved one.

Take this time for yourself to help yourself heal.

When you are ready,

Close your eyes and let's begin.

Draw in a slow and long deep breath.

Feel the air coming into the lungs.

And as you exhale,

Let all of your tension melt away.

Make sure your spine is straight.

It's like the ocean,

With its ups and downs.

We are experiencing like waves.

Grief happens to everybody.

So learning to ride the wave of grief is very helpful,

And it can actually help you connect to others.

We need each other during times of sadness and during times of grief.

We all need time and we all need to breathe through our feelings.

As you breathe in deeply now,

Say to yourself,

I can handle this,

Even though I feel like I can't.

I can handle this.

We handle things and we learn from them by moving through them and feeling our feelings.

We allow ourselves to fully feel our feelings so that we can move through them with grace,

Dignity,

And self love and care.

When we feel our feelings,

Even when we don't want to,

We are caring for ourselves.

Honoring our feelings is good.

The healing process is a difficult one,

But the more we resist our emotions,

The more they persist.

Breathe in very deeply again,

And as you exhale,

Let go of any stress.

Another thing to remember is that grief is very tiring.

It takes a lot of energy from you.

So be easy on yourself during these times.

Be compassionate.

Be kind to yourself.

Don't expect yourself to have a lot of energy.

Don't expect anything.

Just allow the feelings and emotions to come and go.

And know that whatever your process is right now,

That's okay.

Take another long and deep breath in,

Knowing you are okay in this moment and that you are going to get through this.

And as you exhale,

Let the tension melt away even more.

Now bring your loved one to mind.

Feel their existence with you.

Bring them up in your mind.

And see them in perfect health,

In a time that you most remember as pleasant,

Fun,

Exciting,

Or joyful.

What were you doing together?

Perhaps you were laughing,

Or cooking,

Or playing,

Perhaps out on an adventure.

Really immerse yourself in this memory of delight.

You will never get over the loss of a loved one.

And this isn't always a bad thing.

This means you have a heart full of love and compassion.

This brings their memory to life again and again.

This keeps them with you beyond their date of passing on.

They will always remain in a special place in your heart.

And when you grieve them,

This is simply a natural response.

How much you love them is an incredible emotion that we all appreciate.

Now imagine hugging this loved one that has passed on and imagine telling them that you love them.

Say I love you.

Say please be with me as I move on from the loss of you in your physical form.

As you breathe in deeply again,

Feel the fresh energy of their love coming in,

Mixing in your heart.

Feel your energy together with theirs.

Breathe out and relax,

Knowing your loved one never dies in your heart.

They are always there for you to love and remember.

Whenever you need them,

Just close your eyes and imagine they're there in front of you.

This brings them back in a very special way because you can feel with all of your heart their existence and you can say in that moment whatever you need to say.

I hope that this grieving assistance helps you in some way in this process.

Remember that you can have whatever experience you feel you need to have to navigate through your emotions of grief.

Remember to be kind to yourself.

Remember that your loved one wants you to be happy and free and suffering and try your best to be grateful for the time that you got to spend with this loved one.

As you take one more deep breath in,

Inhale love and light and healing and exhale a sense of peace and calm.

And when you are ready,

You can open your eyes.

Namaste.
