Welcome to this meditation on forgiveness.

I am so glad you're here and I am proud of you for taking this step.

Sometimes it's hard to even imagine forgiving somebody who's wronged you.

However,

We don't do it for them.

We do it for ourselves so that we can be free.

Allow yourself to get into a comfortable position.

Make sure there is no disturbance and you can do your best to relax fully in this moment.

You may close your eyes and take a large deep breath in.

Feeling the air enter your lungs and nourish you and as you exhale let go of any stress or any tension or any anxiety you may have had before.

As you take another deep breath in,

Tell yourself that you believe in yourself.

Tell yourself you are worthy and you deserve to be free.

You deserve everything that you desire and in forgiving this person or this event,

You are wide open to a brand new present moment and an exciting future.

Take a deep breath in again,

Nourishing your body with oxygen and exhale into complete relaxation,

Ready to heal yourself from the inside.

Imagine forgiveness.

Imagine a place of forgiveness and what it would look like.

We can visualize ourselves in a beautiful garden on a mild day with a soft breeze and fluffy clouds and the Sun warming your skin and nourishing the plants in the garden.

Imagine yourself breathing in this fresh air and walking around the bend in this garden.

You see a small bench and on this bench is the first person that you would like to forgive.

They are sitting there and they are waiting for you.

This is a very important encounter.

Imagine that you sit down beside them because this place,

This bench,

Is very safe and say the things that you want to say to this person as peacefully as you can.

Build up your bravery,

Your courage and look them directly in their eyes and say,

You hurt me and I have suffered for far too long because of this burden.

I no longer want to carry this grudge.

I forgive you.

I forgive you not to help you but to better myself and to live freely.

You will not enter my thoughts any longer.

This forgiveness will open up new doors for me.

You notice the darkness that was once in their eyes begin to lighten and they do not say a word.

Then the silence is broken and they say,

I will leave you alone now and you will no longer be tormented by the thought of me anymore.

They get up from the beautiful bench and walk away into the forest.

You watch as their figure grows smaller into the distance and you no longer see them.

Not once did they turn and look back your way.

As you breathe in brand new fresh air,

You feel twice as light as you did before.

A huge weight has been lifted now and the person you needed to forgive is no longer sitting within your garden.

They have moved on and so have you.

Take a moment and really feel this forgiveness and this freedom.

Feel into how wonderful this feels and dedicate this day to feeling this way and to loving yourself a little bit more than you did the day before.

As you open your eyes,

You may notice a smile upon your face as you know you are on your way to bigger and better things and the whole world awaits you.

The possibilities are endless when your mind is free.
