
Weight Manager

This is a simple 10 minute meditation geared toward helping your mind respect your body. Utilizing a simple guided imagery, you will shift your focus toward how you'd like to connect to your body and how you choose to fuel it. This meditation is best utilized before your first meal in the morning. Find a comfortable place where you can close your eyes and relax, that isn't your bed.
Transcript
It's time to go inside.
Sit back,
Relax,
And begin centering yourself by focusing on your breath.
As you release that next breath,
Go ahead and let your eyes fall closed.
Focus on feeling that rich oxygen filling your lungs,
Bringing you deeper and deeper and deeper into that state of trance.
That's right.
Because the deeper you go,
The better you feel.
And the better you feel,
The deeper you go.
Today is all about feeling fantastic.
So as you continue to center your mind on your breath,
You begin to connect to your unconscious.
Because you're connected to your unconscious,
You can now connect your mind to your body.
With every breath,
Notice as that relaxation flows through your entire body,
Starting with the muscles in your face,
Loosening and relaxing all of the muscles in your neck.
Then that feeling flows down to your shoulders,
From your shoulders to your arms,
From your arms to your hands.
With every breath,
That feeling of peace moves through your torso to your legs,
All the way to your feet,
So that every muscle in your entire body feels loose,
Limp,
Relaxed,
And heavy.
So as you sense that relaxation,
Take a chance to connect your body and mind to the person you are becoming now.
Notice envisioning the ideal you,
And realize that you're becoming that person now.
Now that ideal you is the destination.
But first you have a journey to prepare for.
And before you go on that journey,
It's important that you've packed the right supplies.
So before you start your day,
You get to take a moment to make sure that you're prepared as you continue to connect to your body.
That's right.
As you prepare for your journey,
I want you to take a chance to think about your appetite and know that it's important to pack light,
Only taking the essentials to your survival on your journey.
Because as you eat today,
You'll know how much is too much.
You don't need any more food weighing you down or making your journey take longer.
As you pack your bags,
You only want to pack the items that will help you get to your destination.
So as you think about food today,
Only think about food that will fuel you as you become the person that you need to be now.
Only looking for the food that will help you accomplish your goals.
If anything else feels like it's going to weigh you down,
You can just drop it off on the path and leave it in your past.
Leave it behind you because today you know that you have work to do.
You have a goal in mind and you are ready to accomplish it now.
So today,
The food that you eat will help you feel lighter.
It'll help you feel more energetic and will help you be more prepared for the journey that you have already embarked on.
To help you prepare for the life you've chosen to live now.
Because you've prepared for this journey and you're well equipped,
You'll have no trouble getting up and getting moving faster and faster,
Finding yourself more motivated and more excited about the destination that lies ahead.
The ideal version of you.
Because as you move towards your destination,
You think about not only what you are moving towards,
You can also be excited about what you are leaving behind.
Now you're leaving behind sickness,
You're leaving behind death,
So that you can move towards your future,
Move towards your health,
And move towards your potential.
With every step in that journey,
You learn something new.
And you can't wait to learn about what you're capable of now.
Notice as your unconscious feels motivated to move your body faster and more powerfully,
With more purpose and with more intention.
With every step to become who you were meant to be.
To feel as good as you were meant to feel now and all the nows in the future.
So feel that motivation.
Because that motivation will bring you to the best version of you.
That motivation to be active will connect you to your fullest potential.
Your potential to thrive and feel good as you get everything you can out of this life.
When you get to your destination,
I wonder what else you might discover that you are capable of,
Because this life is precious and you get to not only enjoy it,
You get to thrive within it and allow it to build you up throughout the entire rest of your day.
Let that understanding motivate you as you leave your older,
Unhealthy self in the past and move towards your future.
Towards this potential to feel fantastic.
Towards the ability to become the person you've always wanted to be.
The person who's always been inside you.
I wonder what else you might be capable of.
I wonder what else you might be able to accomplish.
Because as you feel yourself becoming more motivated and more in control of your body and your appetite,
You are free to discover an entire new world of possibilities.
You can go from simply being alive to living your life the way you want to,
Now,
And all of the nows in the future.
That's right.
So in a moment I'm going to invite you to come out of that trance after I've counted to ten.
And then you can go about the rest of the day.
But you can only come out of trance as quickly as you can remember that you have a life to live and enjoy.
So it's time to begin your journey now.
One,
You're still aware of that breath.
Two,
That breath gives you oxygen.
Three,
That oxygen makes you feel fantastic.
Four,
That fantastic feeling connects you to your body.
Five,
Being connected to your body reminds you that you have a life to not only enjoy but to thrive in.
Six,
That understanding fills you with euphoria.
Seven,
That euphoria turns into a grin on your face.
Eight,
It's okay if that grin gets a little bit bigger as it turns into a laugh.
And nine,
You know that you can feel fantastic today because,
Ten,
It's time to come back.
Refreshed.
Awake.
Alert.
And ready to take on the rest of your day.

This has become a staple in my library and I listen to it most days. It has really helped me gain a more positive outlook on managing my weight and I love the extension on a familiar metaphor you hear all the time about "being on a journey". Can recommend if you are looking for a positive weight-based meditation.

This was one of the better, more helpful guided meditations Iβve ever done. More often than not, I donβt find guided meditations as useful as just meditating in silence or listening to some kind of ambient music in the background while meditating or doing my own visualization exercise, as the sound of the human voice can often be jarring and distracting and, for me, work at cross purposes to my intention to go deeper within and still my monkey mind. But this one was different and actually helped me to focus on leading a healthier life at my ideal weight. Nice job Dan!
