Welcome,

Dear soul,

To this breathing inquiry meditation,

Where we will genuinely inquire with curiosity into the breath.

So making yourself comfortable,

Knowing that there is no place else to be but here.

Moving around until you feel symmetrically aligned.

The spine is tall and dignified and proud.

The belly soft.

The shoulders relaxed.

And all the muscles of the face neutral.

Inviting your undivided attention and energy back.

Allowing every inhale to invite awareness inward and every exhale to surrender the responsibility and need to send energy out.

Every sound,

Sensation,

Emotion or feeling is just guiding you deeper and deeper within.

Allowing the breath to flow freely,

At its own pace,

Like watching a child sleep.

No manipulation,

Entanglement or analysis is needed here.

Simply noticing is enough.

I will guide you through the 22 points of repetition that lives in the breath.

Resting the awareness on the breath,

Let's take a deep breath in together,

Hold at the top and as you exhale surrender and release any tension that is still inside the body.

Deep breath in,

Hold at the top and surrender allowing this moment even deeper.

One more time,

Inhale,

Slight pause and then just allowing the body to surrender and relax naturally,

Gradually,

Deeply.

I turn the awareness to the inhale now,

Notice how the inhale has 4 points of repetition.

It has a beginning,

A middle,

An end and a slight pause.

Take a couple of deep breaths,

Just resting awareness on the inhale,

Noting these 4 points on the inhale.

Now we switch over towards the exhale.

The exhale has the exact 4 repetition points.

Is it possible to notice how the exhale has a beginning,

A middle,

End and a slight pause?

Notice this in a couple of deep breaths.

The next point of repetition I want to guide your awareness towards is pressure.

Notice how pressure increases when the lungs are full on the inhale.

The next point of repetition is notice the release.

As you exhale you release pressure from the lungs,

The chest,

The body.

Which brings us to point number 11,

Urgency.

Is it possible to recognize the urgency after the exhale?

There is a small degree of urgency before the inhale flows naturally.

Don't extend or amplify this urgency.

Don't engage or try to change or eliminate this urgency.

Simply notice it for a couple of breaths.

Point number 12 can you notice the release of urgency when the inhale happens.

The next 5 points are the 5 elements.

Notice how the breath touches your nostrils,

Your upper lip or inside of your nose.

Water element Sometimes the breath is dry and sometimes it is moist.

This is due to the water element that is present in the breath.

Become aware of the water element in your breath.

Fire The warm or the coldness of the breath is due to the fire element found in your breath.

Notice the difference in temperature as you inhale and exhale.

Air itself Notice the air element,

The movement of this air element.

Space Space is the first element that gives rise to all the other elements to exist within space.

So is it possible to notice the space in your nostrils?

The space that your lungs confide in?

The space in which your body resides?

Next is the 5 aggregates,

The original constitutes of the body and mind.

Form Breath has a shape due to the 4 elements present.

We call this the body of the breath.

Notice the body of the breath.

Feeling We must feel the breath to notice it is there for us to use.

Feel the breath not only physically.

Perceptions We must mentally perceive the breath in order to identify its presence.

How are you perceiving your breath in this moment?

What is alive in your breath right now?

Violational formations We intentionally pay attention to our breath,

Feeling and perceptions.

Lastly,

Consciousness We cannot do any of this without consciousness.

Consciousness is the source,

The substratum and the substance that gives rise to all the rest.

These are the 22 always present repetitions that happens with every breath.

Bringing presence and mindfulness into the breath can bring all of this into awareness.

Notice your breath deeper.
