Brain fog can be really debilitating. I’m really sorry you are going through it. This meditation aims to calm your nervous system and ground your energy down in your body to create some relief. Trust that your now is not your forever, and you have a future without brain fog. This practice is suitable for anyone with brain fog, including those with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and related conditions.

Brain fog can be so debilitating.

It can have such a huge impact on how you are able to live your life.

Often unexplained by Western medicine,

It can feel really isolating and scary too.

But know that you are not alone.

And you will think clearly again.

For this meditation,

It's probably best to do it with your legs stretched out in front of you.

Either sitting or lying.

But if this isn't available to you,

Feel free to find a position that works.

To start,

Take three full breaths.

And if you like,

You can direct these into your brain.

Fresh oxygen,

Deeply massaging all parts of the brain.

Inhale and exhale three times.

And let your eyes close now.

And sink down into the body.

Pulling all of your awareness from the external into the internal.

The place behind the eyes.

Your inner world.

Feeling what is going on in your body right now.

Feeling your face.

Your forehead.

The muscles around your cheeks.

Your neck.

And your shoulders.

Releasing any tension from your hands.

Your belly.

Now bring your attention to your feet.

Feel the sensations in your feet.

Any tingling,

Pulsing,

Heat or coolness you may find.

You don't have to think about it.

Let your thoughts rest on the feeling of your feet.

Your right heel.

The arch of your right foot.

The ball of your right foot.

Your right big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth toe.

Fifth toe.

Your left heel.

The arch of your left foot.

The ball of your left foot.

Your left big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth toe.

And fifth toe.

Now see if you can breathe through your feet.

Like the cells in your feet are able to inhale fresh air into your body.

And exhale air back out.

You don't need to breathe in any particular way.

Just keep the pace and depth that feels natural to you.

You may also feel your feet expanding with each breath in,

Like lungs,

And contracting with each breath out.

And if you like,

You could imagine that your feet are magnets for any emotion or physical debris in your body.

Anything you would like to release is drawn down towards your feet.

And on the breath out is released and detoxed from your body.

Feeling any stagnation in your brain being drawn down your neck,

Down your spine,

Working its way down towards your feet.

And breathing that stagnation out of your feet bit by bit.

Putting your awareness up your body now and feel the calves of your legs.

Gravity pulling them safely to the earth.

Your knees.

Your thighs.

Feel into the hip area now.

And all whether you are sitting or lying down,

See if you can rest a bit deeper into the surface beneath you.

And visualise in your mind what that surface looks like.

How strong and secure it is.

How it is supporting you.

How it is held by the earth.

Calling all of your energy into the pelvis area.

The place at the base of your spine.

In Aravada,

This part of the body is home to the spinning vortex of energy known as the root chakra.

When this chakra is balanced,

We feel grounded,

Safe and secure.

The colour associated with the root chakra is red,

But you can picture any colour that comes to mind,

Maybe even a deep earthy brown colour.

And see this colour pulsing in the place at the base of your spine and the lowest part of your belly.

Your connection to the earth.

If you want,

While picturing this colour,

You could imagine touching the soil of the earth.

Feeling its soft,

Crumbly texture in your hands.

Smelling the deep outdoor smell that soil has.

The root of life.

Noticing the slow,

Consistent pace of nature.

The transformation of a seed as it germinates,

Rooting itself down into the ground.

And how it grows upwards through the soil,

Millimetre at a time,

Patiently.

How,

Despite light being its destination,

It doesn't experience the inevitable for weeks,

Sometimes months.

But it slowly and certainly continues its growth through the darkness nonetheless.

We are all seeds of the earth.

Born from nature,

Nourished by food from the soil.

Just by being here,

We belong.

We are all on our own journey of growth.

The solidity of the ground beneath us.

Our compasses headed towards the light.

Trusting that you are safe here.

You are completely secure.

You are supported by the earth.

Your now is not your forever.

And when you feel ready to open your eyes,

You can do so in your own time.

Thank you. My Brain fog is thick today. I’ve had long covid for 3 years now. Early in my recovery, I was also diagnosed with CFS/ME. I will return to this meditation and explore some of your others, particularly on foggy days or when other symptoms are acting up.
