If your body is aching deep in your bones.
If your mind is exhausted from racing in desperation to find a solution and you don't know what to do.
If you are too fatigued to sleep.
If it feels like a thousand waves are crashing over your body at once.
I am here to tell you that while right now it might be so painful and so overwhelming.
You are beneath all the layers of fatigue.
You are within your skin,
Your muscles.
Deeper than the cells of your bones.
You are the inner instinct that clicked on this meditation.
You are the part of you that knows it can self-soothe.
You are okay.
This will pass.
I can't tell you how long it will last,
Only that it will pass eventually.
Like everything does,
You will find lightness again.
Let your eyelids gently close now and feel how they completely seal your eyes from the outside world.
Protecting your eyelids intuitively knowing that inside you is a safe place.
Things are changing all the time,
Even if you feel stuck.
Things are changing beneath the surface.
That is what human bodies do.
They grow and change.
And allow us to experience this life with all of its ups and downs.
The pain and the bliss.
Your body that has got you to this exact point in your life.
Your heart that has beat through every moment of your life that is still beating now.
Working without you even realising to serve you.
Your body is always,
Always serving you.
It is programmed to heal,
To restore.
Remember any cuts or scrapes you got on your knees or hands in the past and how your body managed to heal them all on its own.
And we owe it to our bodies,
In their vast wisdom that we will never fully comprehend,
To listen.
Listen to what it is telling us.
What is your body saying to you if its feelings were expressed in words?
Do not be afraid of what it is saying.
Very often it is the fear that is so much more difficult to bear than the actual feeling.
We ignore,
Distract,
Resist,
Because we are afraid of what it would be like to feel our true feelings.
And there are times where it may be absolutely necessary to ignore,
Distract and resist.
But it is not fair on yourself to do this all the time.
It takes courage to lean into the discomfort and just be in all of your magnificence.
Challenging the anxiety in your mind and trusting that you are safe.
You are held by your body.
And you can let go.
Let go of everything.
If your body is calling for you to sink into it and rest and just be as you are,
Then you would be doing it the ultimate service to do so.
By placing our attention on our body and its sensations,
We direct all of our glorious energy to the body.
And this energy will be used to heal.
This energy is needed to heal.
Knowing that this fatigue is not you.
You are observing it.
You are feeling it.
But it is not you.
No matter the depth,
No matter how long you have been feeling it,
You exist apart from it.
Despite it all,
You still have a light burning within you.
A candle flickering in the weather of your body.
A light that surprises you with its strength.
That continues to shine regardless of the circumstance of what you've been through.
This light may be welcomed or it may be feared.
You might want more of it or be uncomfortable at its incongruence.
But underneath the layers and layers of sensation and fatigue,
You have hope.
Even a tiny flicker.
Hope and love and capability.
A light that will never go out.
Feeling the rhythms of the body.
The pulses.
The tingling.
The heaviness.
Lightness.
Movement.
Stillness.
Your breath is a gift that you can use to direct your energy if there is somewhere in particular that needs extra attention.
Where in your body needs the most attention right now?
If something comes up for you,
Feel into that area as you breathe deep in and out.
Into the discomfort.
If nothing comes up for you,
That is okay too.
You can focus on the rise and fall of the breath in your belly if that feels right.
Not forcing the breath in any way.
Letting your body lead.
If it wants to go deeper,
Let it.
If not,
Just as you were.
What would it feel like to feel calm?
Sometimes framing the question in this way can help you to find a particular state.
What would it feel like to feel calm?
Also sometimes imagining what someone else looks like when they are calm can help.
It could be a stranger on a park bench just emanating calm contentment and you could imagine what that feels like.
What would it feel like to feel at peace?
You are allowed to feel at peace.
What would it feel like to feel love for your body?
Even if it feels radical for you.
Sometimes it can be really hard to love the body when it's not the way we want it to be.
But understanding that our bodies are doing everything they can to live and to heal every second of the day is the first step to loving this vessel that is our home for this lifetime.
What would it feel like to feel love for your body?
I'm releasing anything else that comes up for you at this time.
Letting it evaporate off the surface of your skin.
Coming back to yourself.
And you can stay here,
In this space,
Deep within yourself,
For as long as you need.
But if you want to follow my guidance to end the meditation,
Just feel your toes and your fingers now.
Noticing any sounds around you.
And let them come to you,
Rather than going to them.
And you can gently open your eyes and let the room come into you.
You can sunbathe.
