Hi,
My friend,
And thank you for joining me for this week's gratitude practice.
I hope it will become a habit of yours to practice it weekly.
And today,
You embark on a journey of introspection,
Reflecting on the blessings and joys that have enriched your week.
Gratitude,
The act of appreciating the good things in life,
Is a powerful tool that cultivates happiness,
Well-being,
And a sense of abundance,
And becomes a great foundation for improving the quality of life.
By taking time to acknowledge what we are grateful for,
We shift our focus from what we lack to what we possess.
And this simple shift can have a profound impact on our mood,
Outlook,
And overall life experience.
So let's create a comfortable and peaceful space in your surroundings.
Dim the lights,
Set a chimney or light a candle if you wish.
You may journal during this practice or do it as a traditional meditation in a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Take a few deep breaths,
Inhaling slowly and deeply through your nose,
Sending the air into your belly,
Relaxing all the muscles there.
And exhale slowly through your mouth with a sigh,
Releasing any tension.
Continue for a few breaths,
Allowing your body to relax and your mind to become calm.
Bring your awareness to your body,
Feel your posture,
The weight of your body,
The space it takes up.
Become aware of the sounds around you and outside your building.
Pay attention to your senses.
What smells are present now?
Is there anything to taste?
Perhaps you got yourself a cup of tea?
What does your body touch now?
The clothes,
The surface beneath you,
The temperature of the air.
Now that you've anchored yourself in the present moment and appreciated the gifts of your body and senses,
Allow yourself to dedicate the next 10-15 minutes just to yourself.
I want you to focus not only on the events,
People or material things that were the highlights of the week,
But rather on how these events,
People and things made you feel.
Focus on the emotion that these highlights create in your inner world,
Feel it and express gratitude for that.
The ultimate goal is not to have more of these sort of events,
People and things in your life,
Which is also a great bonus,
But to feel this certain way more often in your life,
Which,
In turn,
Will attract more of the things that resonate on the same frequency to your life.
Take a few moments to reflect on the following prompts.
The people,
Probably someone who brought you joy,
Support or laughter this week.
It could be family,
Friends,
Colleagues or even a stranger who offered a kind word,
Some experiences,
No matter how big or small.
Maybe it was a successful project at work,
A fun outing with friends or a moment of connection with nature or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home.
What did you learn during this week?
Did you overcome a challenge or develop a new skill?
Simple joys,
Perhaps you experienced a simple pleasure this week,
A warm cup of coffee on a chilly morning,
A sunny day after a long stretch of rain or a funny moment with a loved one.
So,
Let's delve a little deeper into your week.
Take your time as you reflect on these prompts and every day of the week,
Starting from Monday,
The first or work day of the week.
Allow the memories to surface and acknowledge the positive aspect of your week,
Big or tiny.
Write down anything else that fills your heart with appreciation.
There is no right or wrong way to create your list.
Let it be a personal reflection of the positive aspects of your week.
And of course,
Feel free to pause this audio while you go through each day of this week.
Now,
Look at the list of things that you are grateful for this week.
How cool it is,
Isn't it?
You may be surprised at how many blessings you surround yourself with,
Even amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Even if this week wasn't the most pleasant one for you,
There are still a few things to be grateful for,
Always,
Even for this time you're spending with yourself and contributing to your well-being now.
This simple practice of acknowledging the good things,
Big or small,
Has the power to shift your perspective and make gratitude a habit,
A lens that you perceive this life through.
I love keeping these weekly gratitude lists and go through them at the end of each year.
And oh my God,
How amazing it is to acknowledge the journey,
The growth,
To see how much you've changed and your life around you and inside of you.
I hope you will love this technique as much as I do,
And it will help you improve the quality of your life as much as it did mine.
Thank you so much for practicing with me,
And I will see you next time.
Bye.
