If it is something that we truly want,

That it is not something dictated by society,
Perhaps like,

You have to grow in your career,
Or let's say you must grow in your career,
Or you must have a family,
Or you must get a house and so on and so forth.

But if it is true to your heart,

It will definitely be manifested in your life in the most unexpected and beautiful way.

I will share the ones that may serve all of us and my favorite ones as well,

So we are now at the second part of our event.
Let's talk about the strategies,
Right?
Of how we can achieve something that we truly want to have.
And the practice that goes from coaching,
Of course,
I'm sure that all of us have heard of that by now,
That goals have to be smart,
Such as specific,
Measurable,
Achievable,
Relevant,
And time-bound with some specific timeframe.
Then,
Of course,
Having a big goal,
We can break it down in the small steps,
Create the action plan to follow this plan consistently.
And that sounds kind of very logical,
Of course,
And really helpful.
But to be honest to me,
It never worked well.
Maybe I'm not that person who can follow instructions easily.
Definitely not about me.
But I will share something that has really helped me.
Right here,
Also combining it with the smart goals and your action plan,
I would like you guys to reflect on what kind of obstacles you may encounter on your way of achieving something,
On pursuing your dreams.
So it is done not to discourage ourselves,
Of course,
Not to drain energy thinking about what may go wrong,
But to calm our anxious mind and to make sure that we will be okay if something doesn't go right or the way that we expected.
We sort of will always be sure that we have a plan B,
C,
Or D in our mind that will help us eventually to achieve something that we truly want.
And that is why we have to reflect on potential obstacles and our subconscious mind,
Knowing that we'll work on using our energy,
Following our plan more efficiently and effectively,
Because we all know that our brains do not like to waste energy,
The lazier,
Let's say in quotes,
We are the better,
So the brain will align our actions with the most efficient plan towards our goal.

I'm currently trying to find the balance between stillness and action in life.
Yeah,
To tell you the truth,
I think it is the essence of life to find balance,
Right,
Including the balance between stillness and action,
It can be phrased as work-life balance,
Right?
And that is actually how I would describe my December,
Right?
As I mentioned already that I'm trying to slow down to enjoy more time with my friends and family or just to watch a Christmas movie with hot chocolate to kind of unwind and relax,
But on the other hand,
Of course,
A lot of end of the year deadlines,
A lot of encounters and so on.
Right,
So I think it's a really nurturing process of finding balance between stillness and action,
Because in this process,
We can learn a lot about ourselves,
What we truly want,
What we truly need,
What really matters to us and what we can just forget and let go of.
Tanya,

Aside from some self-doubt,
Are naysayers,
Family members discouraging me.

The same discouragement that kept me from this goal 30 years ago,
Finding the strength of my own conviction over family's opinions,

I wanted to just take a slightly deeper breath to find calmness in your message,
Because yeah,
There is a lot of confidence from there.
Great that you recognize your obstacle,
That you are ready to act on it and I'm sure that you can do it on your own,
But also try to seek for some support of like-minded people,
No matter if it is,
If they are your friends or online friends or some online community.
What also works,
For example,
For me best,

But also really well,
I can say the online communities,
For example,
The community of teachers here on Insight Timer,
Of meditators,
Depending on the interests or just the people that I follow on social media platforms,
Which inspire me,

And I feel that it is also a question of boundaries that you set for yourself,

A lot of strength and intention.

Also,
I would like to remind you the question of mine,
What strategies you want to follow to achieve your goal,
Something that probably will help you to get closer to your dreams,
To finally live your dream life.
And I should mention that I'm a big fan of neuroscience and I have been learning about it for many years now.
And not only learning about that,
But also implementing the research findings in my life.
So I am a hundred,
Maybe a thousand percent sure that it all works and the practices that I keep for myself,
And I recommend my clients also in mind-body connection coaching,
They are very effective and very efficient.
So now I would like to speak about achieving the goals from the neuroscientific perspective.
So here we can start by forming a habit.
We human beings are simply a habit.
We are animals,
We are creatures,
And that is not to diminish our human experience and our human part that of course exists in each of us,
But to gain strength and deeper understanding of ourselves when we are speaking about people in this context.
So neuroscience principle that we can implement here,
Our brains are wired from habits and by consistently repeating actions,
We create neural pathways that make those actions easier and more automatic.
So if something,
You know,
That you want to probably change something,
Right?
You need to start with a new habit,
Probably also letting go of some habits,
Which is also an unlearning process.
And the more we practice it regularly,
Consistently,
The easier it becomes and the more of our nature it becomes.
So we can make the process of achieving any of our goals,
Our nature.
And how can we do that?
This is what I usually share on my workshops,
For example,
Morning or night routines,
Or just organizing your life to have more structure in it.
So here we can use a few principles,
For example,
Habit stacking.
A new little habit,
I would recommend you to start with tiny steps to choose a small habit that you want to implement and stack it into the,
Or close to the habit that you already have.
For example,
I'm sure that all of us brush teeth in the morning,
Right?
And perhaps your new habit would be to drink enough or more water during the day.
So right after you're finished brushing your teeth,
Keep a glass of water next to you and drink it after you brush your teeth,
That's it.
It is already at least one glass a day more than you would usually drink.
And that is how you kind of glue this new habit to the one that you already have.
So it will take less energy and less mental effort to follow this new habit.
So think about your day,
Your routines,
Where you can put the new habits and how you can eventually get closer to what you're dreaming about.
And of course,
When we are speaking about habits,
Consistency is the key.
To make something a new habit,
Especially a healthy habit,
We need to consistently repeat it.
So please do not skip the days.
But if you do,
You're human,
It is okay.
Just start again the next day.
Well,
Also when we are speaking about achieving our goals or creating our dream life,
We should choose the right motivation.
We shouldn't motivate ourselves as I'm sure most of us,
Unfortunately,
Have this critic voice in our minds,
The ones that kind of act from the point of rewards or punishments,
Right?
It is not an effective strategy and encourage that we just get rid of it immediately and try to implement a new one.
So choose the right motivation for you.
So when we are driven by our internal rewards,
For example,
The feelings of joy,
Curiosity,
Sense of purpose,
It is much more sustainable than motivating ourselves by limitations or the fear of punishment and so on.
So choose your motivation,
Why you want to have that or why you want to become that person and make this emotion,
This feeling your motivation.
So you pursue this elevated states that will also generate more dopamine in your mind,
In your brain,
And will help you to move forward.
And also,
When we are speaking about motivation and achieving your goals,
Please,
Please celebrate your victories,
No matter how small and tiny.
Something that other people probably would not understand,
Would not appreciate,
Would not pay attention to,
Please celebrate it for yourself.
We talked a lot about it and the benefits of celebrating your achievements in the last session here on Insight Timer.

And it really,
Really helps to create a sustainable way of achieving your goals.
Another one,
Another moment that also helped me a lot professionally is optimizing my work environment.
So it is not only about our mindset that influences us or our community,
The people that we interact with,
But also our physical environment,
Please create a distraction-free environment that will allow you to focus naturally without so much effort on your action plan,
Let's say.
Use some visual reminders that,
Maybe vision words,
That will also keep you focused on what you truly want,
On your dreams,
On something that you want to create for yourself.

But also to support yourself in waking up the next day to have this uninterrupted supportive cycle.
So you can also work with your,
Upgrading your daily routines.
And of course,
Prioritize your self-care because there is nobody,
Nobody in the world more important than you are for yourself.
And of course,
We all have families.
Many of us have kids and,
Or partners that we love to take care of,
But it all starts with us,
With ourselves.
So please prioritize your self-care,
No matter what it means to you.
It is all very personal,
Something that nourishes you,
Nurtures your soul,
Body,
Mind,
Whatever,
Something that helps you to feel better and,
To become healthier in all the possible ways.
And by incorporating these strategies that I mentioned above,
We can make our goal-setting process and goal-achieving process much easier,
Less effortless,
More intentional,
And of course,
More enjoyable.
So I think that sounds wonderful.
That is something that would motivate us to continue from one day to another.

But I would say the first step would be just to recognize that,
Okay,
Give yourself space between reacting to something or someone,
Give yourself space and time to think,
To breathe,
To feel all the emotions that the stories in our minds create.
And then probably act out of curiosity,
How else can it be?
Because what we think,
Our stories in our mind,
It is not the ultimate truth.
There are many more perspectives on the same situation.
So out of curiosity,
Asking what else can there be?
What else I perhaps do not see,
Do not want to see,
How it is not about me,
But about them,
How it is their vision of life or their reaction,
Their preferences.
Right.
So it is just general bunch of thoughts that your topic provoked.

Keep your back relaxed,
But straight.
Take a deep breath into your belly,
Chest and head and release everything with a sigh.
Allow yourself to close the eyes.
And let's take a slightly deeper breath together.
Breathe in and out,
Letting go of all the thoughts,
Worries,
And let's take a deep breath in and out through the mouth,
Like you're blowing through a straw,
Making your breath out longer.
Tend into the sensations in your body,
How you're sitting or lying down,
Where your body touches the ground,
Perhaps energy moving in parts of your body or food digesting in your stomach,
Movements of breath,
Any tension or relaxation.
Just acknowledge everything what is without analyzing or judging it.
Imagine yourself surrounded by a warm light of your favorite color as a symbol of hope and possibility.
This light surrounds your body,
Your energetic body,
Your spirit and your surroundings.
You're safe and protected and you can relax a little bit more.
From this state,
Allow yourself to visualize your ideal future,
The next year.
What person have you become?
What have you accomplished?
What new skills have you learned?
How have you grown as a person?
What positive changes have you made in your life?
Visualize everything either in detail or as a general picture,
However it comes to you at this moment.
You may see some specific scenarios or scenes from the future or just imagine how you would like to see that.
Now,
When you have a clear picture in your head,
Tap into the sensations and emotions in your body.
Notice where you feel the emotions associated with your future year in your body.
Perhaps it is warmth in your chest area or lightness in your belly or shoulders.
Some tingling sensation in your hands,
Or lightness in your head.
Allow yourself to fully embrace these sensations.
Allow yourself to feel them fully.
And let these sensations expand to fill your entire being with a sense of light and warmth.
Let them grow and even outgrow your physical body.
And perhaps you may notice some changes or tiny shifts in your body.
Maybe your posture changed or you feel a bit more confident,
Lighter,
Or more free.
Imagine all of these positive emotions and sensations as a warm light that illuminates from the center of your being.
Let this excitement,
Joy,
Or whatever it is for you to energize you,
To fuel your motivation and inspire you to take action.
And notice how your body reacts and responds to these feelings.
How does the feeling of accomplishment,
Growth,
Joy,
Pride manifest in your physical body?
And if it is difficult for you to notice these changes or responses,
You may just imagine or just feel whatever is present right now.
Imagine the positive feelings,
Elevated emotions as a gentle wave washing over you and carrying away any stress,
Tension,
Or negativity.
There is just this pure light within you,
Clearing everything that doesn't serve you anymore.
Let this sense of peace and contentment settle deep within you,
Creating a calm and centered presence.
Breathe deeply and let these sensations and feelings penetrate every cell of your body.
Imagine yourself looking back at the year that has passed,
Acknowledging the progress that you have made,
The challenges that you have overcome successfully,
And the incredible person that you've become.
You may put a gentle smile on your lips or hug yourself,
Wherever feels right for you now,
To acknowledge your way.
Notice the strength and resilience that you've cultivated.
Feel the sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that you've stayed true to yourself and pursued your dreams with passion and dedication.
Believe in the reality of this future.
Know that it is already within your reach.
And know that each step you take brings you closer to the vision that you have in your mind.
Take a slightly deeper breath.
Thank yourself for this visualization,
For the time that you took for yourself.
And as you bring your attention back to the present moment,
Reflect on one small,
Concrete step that you can take today to move towards this vision of your future.
It could be something as simple as writing down your goals,
Researching a course,
Or scheduling a meeting.
This small action will serve as a powerful first step towards manifesting your dreams.
Become present of your body,
Your surroundings,
The sounds around you,
The smells.
Bring some movement into your body.
And when it feels comfortable and right to you,
Open your eyes.
