A few words about myself.
My name is Diana.
I am a Mind-Body Connection coach,
A meditation teacher,
And a psychosomatic specialist.
So my main focus of my coaching,
Of meditation,
Of all of the work that I'm doing,
Is to blend mind and body,
To find that connection,
To build a stronger relationship within ourselves.

As we all know,
We will dedicate our time to really setting the tone for the coming year,
For 2024,
Or we will focus on working with our goals,
But not simply creating a list of them and a specific plan how to achieve them,
But rather how to work with the goals,
How to really find the goals that resonate with you,
How to make sure this is what you really would love to get by the end of the year,
Or maybe in a few years.
And our session today will be infused with some psychological and psychosomatic techniques,
Which you can perform directly during our time together and after our live event.

Arrive into this present moment,
So we can start the actual deep work.

We will discuss the goals,
How to work with them,
How to achieve the goals,
The importance of structure.
And at the end,
I think that would be the most important part of our work today.
We will release tension that we might have and most probably have towards achieving these goals.
So there will be a coaching and a psychosomatic technique that we will perform live all together.
And,
Of course,
If you guys have any questions during our time,
Please do not hesitate to ask or to share your opinions,
Even and especially if you would think differently from what I would be saying and sharing.
Well,
So I'm sure that many people at the edge of the years,
When saying goodbye to the 2023,
When entering the new year,
Created some sort of a plan or a list of goals that you would like to achieve,
That you would like to have by the end of this year.
And I'm no exception.
I have been doing it,
I think,
All of my conscious adult life.
And from one year to another,
My techniques and my approach to working with goals has changed.
And what I have discovered in my and from my own experience and when working with clients,
I would like to share here to help you guys probably to look at the goals and to set the tone for this year a little differently,
If you would like so.
Well,
First of all,
Let's dedicate about 30 to 40 minutes of our time today to this discussion.
I would like you guys to close your eyes now and start off to take a few deep,
Profound breaths in through your nose and try to breathe out through your mouth and try to make the exhales a bit longer than your inhales,
Like you're slipping out from a straw.
Let's make two more like this.
Breathe in and out.
Breathe into your belly,
Relax all the muscles there and exhale fully.
You can still keep your eyes closed and check in with yourself.
How do you feel right now emotionally,
Physically and mentally?
You can describe the states that you have with different adjectives,
Probably just as seen pictures in your mind's eye.
As for me,
I feel very excited,
Very open,
Physically tired and sleepy.
And also ask yourself what you would like to get from this life event.
Why are you here?
Maybe something that you would like to bring back with you at the end of our session.
Try to make the answer to this question pretty much concise and clear.
Perhaps you would like to experience the feeling of unity with others,
With the community,
Or to get a more clear vision about your goals,
Or to learn something new,
To get the new information.
And let's make the final deep breath in through the nose.
And you can sigh out,
Making a wild sound.
And great,
Please fully arrive into this present moment.

I saw your comment that you made a vision board on Saturday for 2024.
That is amazing.
There was a period of my life when I loved vision boards and I created them not only yearly,
But dedicated to some specific area of my life or the field,
Some specific goal.
And I love them.
I think it is a really great instrument to work with.
Well,
Of course,
If you guys have some other ways or your preferences,
Something that you've already done when talking about the vision and the goals this year,
Please also share with us.
I'm sure that we all are curious about that.
Well,
Let's move to the first part,
The practical part of our discussion today of working with goals.
Of course,
I think the most obvious and the first step would be to make a list of your goals.
And that is great.
You can write down as many goals as you would like to,
As many as feels comfortable for you.
It can be just maybe one specific goal that you would like to concentrate on during the whole year.
It can be five or seven dedicated to different spheres of your life.
It can be 20 or 30.
So it is definitely up to you and it is all personal.
And I would definitely encourage you guys to not only type it somewhere,
But also to write it down with your hand on paper.
I love journaling.
I love this instrument of actually writing,
Creating something in the physical world,
Not in the digital one,
Because it works much more effectively and efficiently for our brains.
And that is a great ground to start with.
But before,
Or even something that I find more important than creating a list of goals is just to set your intentions.
And this is something different from the goals as I see that.
It is more about how you see your life,
About a big picture,
About your vision or your mission.
So here,
When setting intentions,
You can ask yourself,
How do I want to feel at the end of this year or throughout the year?
How do I see what emotions I would like to experience or what states I would like to go through the whole year?
How do I see what pictures in my mind I see of my life in 2024?
And this is less about the logic,
Less about your brain creating,
Producing some answers,
But more about what your heart says,
What your soul tends to,
And more about the sensations and feelings and emotions that you have now or you would like to have.
So when you set your intentions,
You can get back to the list of the goals that you've created and slowly,
With no rush,
Dedicating time and real attention to each goal,
Check if each of these goals really aligns with your intentions.
Here,
The logic,
Our brain can definitely help us,
And you will sort of calibrate whether this goal resonates with your intention.
For example,
I would love to feel confident,
Grounded,
And abundant this year.
And one of my goals is,
For example,
To earn $3,
000 a month.
And when I think about the goal that I would have to achieve that,
Does it really contribute to this feeling of prosperity and abundance?
And if it feels right to you,
You'll feel it as something positive,
As openness in your chest area.
Whereas if you set the goal for yourself to make $50,
000 a month,
And you feel that something is constricted inside of you,
Or you feel scared,
Or,
I don't know,
Maybe you start seeing some dark colors,
As we are talking about vision,
However you perceive that,
Probably that is something that would help you to achieve the $50,
000 a month,
But something that would restrict feeling grounded and abundant and peaceful.
So check whether this goal is realistic for you,
For your body,
As we are talking about sort of psychosomatic techniques today,
Whether it resonates with you,
Or it just brings more pressure into your life.
And with each goal,
Go through the list and close your eyes and feel.
Feel how much it really is what you would like to achieve.
Maybe you would like to downscale your goal a little bit.
And who knows,
Probably you will greatly overgrow this goal through the year,
But it would feel and be made true,
Right?
So for now,
I guess we can give it a little try,
As we are talking about financial goal,
As I said just as an example,
Because I believe it is one of the most common goals for people to set for themselves,
And it is the clearest one that we all can relate to.
So let's find the goal,
The financial goal that you would like to achieve this year.
Again,
It is very personal.
You can just keep it in your mind.
And close your eyes,
Arrive into the present moment,
Maybe some practices that can help you do this right now,
And try to find this neutral state inside of you.
Neutral state where and when you feel open,
Light,
Calm.
When your mind is quieter than usual.
And imagine this goal,
This financial goal for yourself as an object of any form,
Shape,
Weight,
Color,
Texture.
How does it look like?
Sit in front of you and envision it getting closer to you,
Slowly.
If this is your goal and it gets closer,
How do you start to feel?
Notice all of the sensations,
Some tension or liberation inside of your physical body,
And identify the part of your body that feels it the most.
And if this object gets closer to you,
And you feel lighter,
You feel happier,
Maybe your state doesn't change a lot,
And you sort of feel neutral,
And you see it as something positive for yourself,
Then yes,
This is something that you would definitely go for this year,
That this is yours,
Your true desire.
But if the goal,
If this object gets closer to you and you start feeling fearful or smaller,
Shrink,
Some tension in your chest or shoulders area,
Or wherever it can be inside of your body,
Then probably you should think twice or three times about this goal,
Whether,
First of all,
It is what you really want and need in your life.
Maybe it is something that is not truly yours,
Something that society,
Your family,
Your partner,
Or colleagues,
Your boss,
Wants you to do or tells you to do,
And you sort of inherit it as your own thought.
Well,
Question that.
Maybe it is not so.
Or maybe yet this goal is too big for you,
That your body,
Your brain does not believe that it would be possible.
Then you can make the goal a little smaller.
As we were talking about finance,
Maybe not getting 50 grand per month,
But 25,
Or whatever amount would feel better for you,
For your body,
The amount of money that will resonate positively,
More comfortably within you.
So this is how you can work with each of your goals to identify whether it is something that will definitely be inspiring you,
That will be giving you energy throughout the whole year to grow for it,
Or something that would probably just take energy from you,
Make you more hesitant,
Unconfident,
And so on.
So please,
Guys,
Let me know if this explanation,
That this practice was clear,
Whether you have any questions,
Whether you would like to add something to this part.
I would love to hear how you feel in your body when this goal was approaching you,
Probably getting further from you,
How it,
On the physical level,
Was felt in your body.
Day,
I saw your comment,
And I didn't get the essence of your question.
Is it about the stages of the goal,
Having a good,
Better,
And best goal?
For example,
The same financial goal as 5,
000,
10,
000,
And 50,
000,
Or something different?
If you mean that you're aiming for the best goal of 50,
000,
Well,
There is nothing bad of having this goal,
Keeping this goal in your mind,
But as I mentioned,
It should be realistic within the year,
If you are setting your goals for this specific 2024.
If it feels comfortable to you,
And you,
Not only in your mind,
But first of all,
We are paying attention here to our physical bodies,
Because I believe they are physical bodies,
Much wiser than our minds are.
They know more,
And they know our abilities,
What we are capable of.
They have their limitations,
And if we do have them,
That would be very difficult to overcome them just with our minds.
Right,
So it's about the progressive goals.
It's a great way to have sort of the stairs,
Right,
Where you want to come,
That you are aiming for eventually.
But for example,
If for this year,
You have only doubts,
And your body shrinks when you think about the 50 grand a month,
Probably it will not work for you.
Not because you are not good enough in something,
Or that you cannot make this money,
But because your body,
Your psychic state is not ready for that.
And if we are not ready for something,
We will be holding ourselves back.
It will be much more difficult to achieve such a goal.
We would have to put 10 or 20 times more effort,
Rather than for achieving a smaller goal.
So,
For example,
If 10k a month feels much better and lighter to you,
You can start with that,
When you will reach this goal.
Your physical state,
Your physical body will gain more confidence.
As I say that,
Your whole being,
All of your states will grow and widen.
You will become bigger,
So that finally the best goal will not look as big,
As terrifying for you as when you are still quite small.
So,
Give yourself time to grow,
And of course,
Keep in mind the bigger vision,
Maybe the vision for your life or for a decade.
But as we are talking about the year length today,
Then it would be better to start with a good goal.
So,
This is at least how I see the process.
Well,
I hope that I could answer your question.

This is what really helped me to get structure,
To get confidence,
To make sure that,
Oh my God,
I can do anything I want.
I just need to know what to do.
And the coach was the one who helped me on this journey.
So,
If you feel that you would benefit from that,
So just go for it and do not hesitate.
And well,
For now,
Let's talk about how to actually achieve goals.
I'm sure that as we here are a mindful community,
And this is what I see all the users,
And teachers,
And all the employers,
Employees of Insight Timer as really mindful community brought all together.
We already know and we have some personal tools or plans that help us to achieve goals in our daily lives.
And I just will share here a couple of moments that I find crucial that I draw from my client's experiences and my personal one too.
So,
As I mentioned already,
Provide structure,
Gift yourself this structure of life,
Of your routines,
Of how you can create your path towards these goals,
Each one of them or towards the whole vision of your year.
So,
Here what was very helpful to me in the beginning is to intentionally set the morning and evening routines.
Because before that,
I felt I was sort of not even in a flow with life,
But I was just going with the flow of the river and the river could go wherever it wanted,
But not I wanted.
So,
Setting the morning and evening routine was the best ground for me to start with.
And of course,
It is another big topic that I really love.
And let me know if it is something of your interest and I would like to make another live event about that,
About the routine specifically.
But again,
I'm sure that we all know that we can break this goal into smaller steps,
Something very achievable,
Something that will not put pressure on you,
But will inspire you or something that would not be even so noticeable throughout the day.
For example,
If you would like to read,
We have 52 weeks a year,
52 books a year you would like to read and it means a book in a week.
Well,
Of course,
It depends whether you have enough time or not.
But if you say to yourself that I'm going to read just one sentence or one paragraph a day,
It will be already enough.
And if you achieve this tiny goal every day,
First of all,
You build self-confidence and self-trust.
And thirdly,
You are on your way to achieving this goal.
And most probably,
You will read 52 or a reasonable amount of books a year when you set the tiny goals to achieve regularly rather than a bigger goal to achieve in a month,
Let's say.
Well,
I hope I made it clear with this reading example.
And the structure of your day,
The structure of your working time will provide the flow for you.
It will become a habit for your body,
For your mind because what we human beings actually are,
We are beings of habits and habits are extremely important for us.
And this is what supports us as well.
And when you're getting this structure,
When you get into the flow,
It becomes your habit.
This is how you can achieve your goals in a more natural way.
How your bodies will adjust to making these tiny steps regularly within the certain specific frame that you set and create for yourself.
Again,
Do not just take these frames from something that you heard from other people,
Any podcasts,
Books,
Or even your mentors,
But check in with yourself whether it is truly what will work for you.
You can,
Of course,
Experiment in many different ways,
But what your insight tells you is the truest voice,
The truest feedback that you can ever get.
So always check up with yourself.
And,
Of course,
Knowing why you would like to achieve these goals.
Here,
The intentions are of use that we were talking about in the beginning.
Knowing your why will help you to continue your way no matter the failures,
No matter the bad days,
Bad mood,
Whatever happens in your life,
You will wake up,
You will know why you woke up,
Hopefully.
Of course,
It will take quite a while to achieve this state or to feel it probably for the first time in your life.
But believe me,
It will happen eventually if you dedicate yourself to this.

To check up with ourselves what works best for us,

And that's perfect that you know that.

Guys,
I think we can move to our final part,
How we can release the tension towards our goals.
So,
If you are sure that this goal or these goals are your true desire,
Something that you really aim for,
But still,
Of course,
There can be some mental or psychological barriers to achieve that,
The barriers that we can lower or eliminate at all,
Which will allow us to achieve the goals with less effort,
With more joy,
Within a smaller period of time,
Probably.
So,
The first moment here I would like to mention is that you can lower the importance of this goal.
And it is very connected to shadow work.
I'm not sure if you guys have heard of that,
Shadow work,
When we are speaking about psychological or spiritual approach.
Shadow is something that leaves and is a part of us some qualities or some states that we do not like about ourselves or about others,
Something that triggers us,
Something that doesn't feel good about us.
And we try not to even look there and pretend that it doesn't exist.
Some do not even see that part of themselves.
So,
Naturally,
They try to avoid that in life.
But the truth is that our subconscious mind and unconsciousness that live in us,
In our bodies,
They will not let us forget about this shadow that we have,
That we try to avoid.
What really can help us with this is maybe the word befriend is quite a big one,
But just to acknowledge this shadow,
This quality,
Or something that you strongly dislike about yourself,
To move your attention towards that,
To see that,
Well,
That's my shadow,
That's what's interesting about me,
That is what I do not appreciate probably at this moment,
But it is a part of me.
Because only when we are whole,
By whole I mean having positive and negative qualities,
Let me just say it very firmly and strictly,
When we let ourselves be different,
When we see and realize and accept that we are not perfect,
This is a great foundation to start growing.
Because otherwise we would just be running from our fears,
From our shadows and so on.
For example,
If to talk about our goals,
The money goal,
How we can lower the importance.
So as you see yourself,
Well,
I would like to be prosperous financially or I would like to be rich,
But what I really would like to escape is being poor.
So accept that there is a poor part of you inside and there is nothing bad about that.
It is just a fact.
And look at this part of yourself,
Feel it,
Live it through.
I mean,
You can practice it in a meditation or any other spiritual practices or mental practices that work best for you.
And realize that the world will not end if you are poor,
Theoretically.
And this is how we can lower the importance of these goals.
You will realize that,
Right,
Money is very important and I will not be running away from being poor,
But I will be reaching for more prosperity.
So here you already change the perspective of how you look at your goal.
And you can do it with any sphere of your life,
With all of the goals,
Just lower the importance.
Do not rush away from something,
But realize that it is something that I want to have in my life and I will,
But it is not the end of the world if it doesn't happen right now.
Well,
That was the first moment of working with the goals and releasing the tension.
And the second part is that psychosomatic technique that I find really powerful.
And powerful because it will give your body and your subconscious mind a new experience,
Positive experience.
And this will be sort of a meditation,
So please guys,
Before we move forward,

Please find yourself in a very comfortable position,
Seated with your back straight.
Close your eyes.
Find that sweet point of balance where your body feels awake but comfortable and relaxed.
Breathing through your nose and breathe out through your mouth.
Choose one goal on your list that you would like to achieve in 2024.
It can be any goal for now.
And see yourself having achieved this goal.
It can be,
For example,
That I am financially prosperous or I am in a healthy,
Loving,
Romantic relationship or I am traveling or I grew my business and so on.
See all of the details of yourself having achieved this goal of living that life where you accomplished it.
And find that feeling,
That hesitation that stands between you and this goal,
Something that stops you from being there yet.
Breathing and breathe out.
Find that feeling or sensation,
Hesitation or thought that doesn't allow you to be there yet.
With each inhale,
Breathe in lightness.
With each exhale,
Let go of this tension.
Simply let it go out of your body,
Of your chest and of your head.
Notice how much less of tension you carry right now than previously.
And feel that you are a little baby.
See yourself as a young child that doesn't have this tension.
A child that has no fears,
No hesitations.
A child that doesn't know yet any restrictions.
A child that is confident that everything in this world is just for him or her.
Feel like you are this baby now.
Notice how your body responds to this vision and picture inside your mind and being that little child.
Look at your mom and dad who had the same feeling,
The same tension from your relatives,
From your family or from your close ones when you were little.
It can be your parents,
Grandparents,
Older siblings,
Aunts or uncles who had the same tension,
Hesitation or thought.
Breathe in and out.
Breathe in deeply.
Exhale and see this person in front of you.
And in your mind's eye,
Tell this person,
I respect you,
But I choose to live differently.
I have my feelings,
My emotions,
My ways.
Thank them for the strategy that they taught you.
But allow yourself not to get the same approach.
Allow yourself to be free,
To be different,
To make different choices,
To be yourself,
To be the real you.
Look at yourself now.
Look at money,
Relationships,
At his or her goals.
How does this little child want to achieve the goals,
To walk this path?
What does this child like?
What does he or she want?
Breathe in and out.
Feel that you agree to that inside of you,
That you allow yourself to walk your path.
Allow yourself and feel the freedom that it brings to you.
You are an adult now,
Here and now,
In this space,
In this time.
And how do you look at your goals at this moment?
How do you see them?
How do you see yourself achieving them?
Feel all the sensations and emotions.
Experience everything that comes your way.
Feel everything that happens in your body and make sure that your body has lived a new experience and it will remember it from now on.
Slowly arrive at the present moment.
Add some movement into your body.
If you want to shake it off,
You can do that.
You can dance,
You can jump.
If you would like to lie down for a while and relax a bit more,
Please do so.
Whatever works best for you right now.
And this is the end of our practice.
