Welcome.

Thank you for joining me today on this meditation.

Today's meditation is brought to you by the concern for our anxious mind and the obsessive thoughts that tend to come with it.

So take a moment to come into a comfortable space as we hang out here for the next few minutes.

Make sure that the body is comfortable.

So this might mean to rest in a relaxing space with minimal sounds,

Distractions.

Maybe you grab your most comfortable blanket or pillow and just begin to settle in.

Close the eyes and just start to notice your breath.

The one thing that we can always be sure of is our breath.

So see now in this moment if you're able to slow the breathing down,

Maybe bringing the breath in through the nose and slowly back out.

If at any time during this meditation that you feel tense or uneasy,

Just start to bring the attention back to your breath.

Slow and gentle in and out through the nose.

Take a moment to start to get a sense of why you're here today.

There could be many reasons from just having so much on your mind.

The world is a busy,

Busy place.

Maybe you've found that your mind tends to wander to a space that you just don't enjoy.

And once you're there,

It's hard to come away.

It's hard to distance yourself from the thoughts.

And you begin to feel the body rejecting the space,

Feeling tension and uneasiness,

Maybe aggravation or depression.

So just getting a sense today of whatever that might mean for you.

And just allowing that thought to be present like it has been.

But instead of bringing a thought or a judgment to it,

Come back to that breath.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Slow and gentle.

At times when we have thoughts,

We tend to feel that they deserve more power than they actually do.

We tend to think that a thought is inevitable,

That whatever we think is true.

But our thoughts are simply,

They're simply that,

They're thoughts.

We can think whatever,

We can dream whatever.

And sometimes when our thoughts go into a circle,

Because we can't place meaning or the thought is upsetting,

Our bodies start to reject this.

So keeping with that breath,

But allowing the thought to make room in your mind.

I invite you to slowly start to envision a space in your mind.

Let this space be relaxing.

Maybe it's somewhere that you've been before,

Maybe it's somewhere you've dreamed.

Just start to get a sense of what space this is for you today.

And as you come into this space,

Start to relax your shoulders.

Unclench the jaw,

Parting the teeth.

Soften your eyes and your eyebrows.

Let your chest become still and soft.

And let your belly bring the movement with the breath.

Let this space really start to resonate in the mind.

Maybe hearing the sounds,

Envisioning the color.

And you might find within this moment that those thoughts are still there.

Maybe those thoughts start to make their way up towards the sky in your space.

And as you watch the thoughts start to reach up towards the sky,

Just watch them without any judgment,

Any pressure.

Watching the thoughts get further and further away.

You'll suddenly notice in your relaxing space that thought is so far that it's a speck in your space.

Start to draw your attention back to your breath.

Draw the attention back to your body.

Begin slowly breathing in and exhale out.

Namaste.
