The 5 Principles of Reiki that allow you to drop worry,
Drop anger just for today.
Hello and welcome.
My name is Denzil and today we are going to be doing a meditation around the 5 Principles of Reiki.
But first,
Let me explain them to you.
These 5 Principles were propounded by Dr.
Mikau Ussi,
The founder of Reiki,
And it is a guiding light to the attitude of living a balanced life that is in harmony with everything around you.
And it's just for today,
So every day we renew these vows,
And they are wow.
Just for today,
I will not be angry.
Principle number 2,
Just for today,
I will not worry.
Principle number 3,
Just for today,
I will be grateful.
Principle number 4,
Just for today,
I will raise my awareness.
And Principle number 5,
Just for today,
I will be kind to myself first,
And all other living beings.
Now let's visualize this a little bit for ourselves.
Imagine that life is a garden.
Anger is like the fire.
When it burns unchecked,
It can scorch the plants,
It can scorch the flowers,
It can burn the trees.
And when you release that anger,
You're making the earth fertile,
So that more and more of that garden of beauty can grow within you and without.
Worry are like weeds.
They spread very quickly,
And they're there all the time,
Choking you when you want to grow.
When you trust,
Your plants get the space and the sunlight.
So give up worry and grow in trust.
Gratitude is like the water in a garden.
It nourishes and keeps everything alive,
Without which the garden will dry up and die and wilt.
When you raise your awareness,
It's like the sunlight,
Steady,
Constant,
And nurturing of life.
It allows seeds to turn into trees.
And finally,
Loving kindness.
Loving kindness is like the fragrance of the flowers.
The garden is made beautiful because you spread loving kindness to yourself and to everybody around you.
And you have a beautiful,
Fragrant garden that you can live your life with.
And it flourishes and it grows and it heals and it brings joy and peace.
Every day,
We can grow this garden of ours.
Just for today,
I will release anger.
It allows you to release hatred.
It allows you to release anger itself.
It allows you to release frustration.
It allows you to release guilt.
It allows you to release any kind of negative energy you might have towards either yourself or somebody else.
When we give up worry,
We stop worrying about what's happening around us.
I stop worrying about my children,
My health,
My job,
Everything from the future that I'm carrying with me.
I put it down.
And therefore,
Just for today,
I will not worry.
When I build my awareness into this moment,
I'm becoming more aware of life as it happens.
I bring honesty into this moment,
Which means I live this moment fully,
Not worrying about the anger or the worry or the frustration or anything that might be there.
And this is just for today.
Tomorrow,
I'll rinse and renew.
And when we live in loving kindness,
And it's just for today,
Again,
We are kind to ourselves.
We're gentle with ourselves.
We're loving of ourselves.
And we have compassion toward the other.
And when we bring all of this together,
We empower ourselves daily.
And therefore,
You can use this meditation every day to bring beauty to your life,
To bring joy,
To bring peace and awareness.
So let's begin this meditation.
I want you to sit comfortably with your eyes closed.
If you're sitting on the floor,
You're a rock star.
If you're sitting in a chair,
I request you to take your footwear off and keep your feet on the floor firmly apart.
As we breathe in nice and deep,
We let go of any tension that you might be feeling in this moment and gently settle into the moment.
Bring quiet and ease and peace.
I want you to breathe in nice and deep and just be in this moment.
And now let's announce the first principle of Reiki.
Just for today,
I will let go.
I will release any anger that I might be carrying.
Repeat this to yourself.
Just for today,
I will release all anger,
All hatred,
All bitterness,
All pain,
All jealousy and any negative energy I might be holding toward another.
I will let it go today.
I don't need it.
And as you let it go,
You let in that sense of calm to yourself.
Principle number two.
Just for today,
I will release and I will let go of all worry.
Let's repeat this to ourselves.
Just for today,
I will let go of worry,
Of anxiety,
Of fear of the future maybe,
Financial stress if there's any,
Your health.
Just for today,
I will release all worry.
The clouds of worry now are floating away from your mind,
Leaving a clear blue sky.
Trust and calm is settling in.
Just for today,
I will embrace and live in gratitude.
I'm grateful for today.
I'm grateful that I am alive.
I want you to bring to mind three things that you are thankful and grateful for.
And you see them as warm rays of light entering your heart and lighting up your whole being with that glow of goodness,
Of gratitude,
Of grace.
Just for today,
I will become more aware.
Repeat this to yourself.
Just for today,
I will grow my awareness.
I will live each moment honestly.
You're walking a straight,
Clear path.
Every step feels grounded,
Feels aligned with your truth.
You feel steady.
You have a purpose.
That purpose of living this day,
This moment completely.
Not tomorrow.
Just for today,
I will grow my awareness.
And finally,
The fifth principle.
Are you smiling now?
Just for today,
I will be loving,
Kind and gentle to myself and all other beings.
Silently repeat this to yourself.
Just for today,
I will be loving,
Kind and gentle to myself and all other beings.
Imagine your heart radiating that soft green light.
The light flows outward from yourself,
Touching animals,
Plants,
People,
Whoever you might come in contact with.
You're filling them with love,
With kindness,
With compassion.
I now want you to take a deep breath in and feel these five principles within you.
Exhale gently and ground yourself in this moment.
Just for today,
I will live in peace.
I will live in gratitude.
I will live in love.
I am alive to this moment.
Just for today,
I live my life to the best of my ability.
