Mindfulness Practice 12,

Breaking Free from Doubt.

Get comfortable in a seated position.

Breathe.

With your eyes closed or gazed down,

Focus on your inhales and exhales.

Let go of any distractions that come into your awareness.

Continue to breathe deeply and focus on your breath.

Notice if your breath is soft and calm or short and choppy.

Notice where in your body you might be feeling any stress or tightness.

See if on your inhale you can focus on that spot.

And on your exhale,

Send some love and light into that area of your body.

See if you can release even just a little bit of tension.

Notice how it feels to let go.

Continue to breathe and with every breath,

Begin to relax just a little bit more.

Consider your life so far in that the direction it has gone.

What feelings arise?

Do you get a feeling of expansion and considering your life?

Or a sense of contraction,

A constriction in the chest or belly perhaps?

Or perhaps a combination of both expansion and contraction?

Ask yourself what keeps you or might keep you from fulfilling your life's purpose?

What kind of social conditioning might be holding you back?

Do you have a sense of doubt about moving forward?

If so,

What does the doubt that arises feel like?

Where in your body do you experience doubt?

It might feel overwhelming.

Doubt has had a whole lifetime of practice getting in your way.

You may be witnessing it at this level for the first time.

It's okay.

You are not doubt.

You are much bigger than that one emotion.

You are simply witnessing your body experiencing doubt.

It is the small voice that might be saying any version of,

You can't do this.

Who do you think you are?

Don't be so rash.

You'll fail.

This or some version of this may be a voice you are quite familiar with.

It is the voice that believes and wants you to believe that you are not good enough.

That you are simply not enough.

Offered compassion and gratitude.

Conditioned self in the form of doubt has done its job well.

It has protected you from venturing off the beaten path you were taught you were supposed to stay on.

Breathe some fresh air into that area in your body where the doubt has gotten stuck.

Just know that this conditioned self has worked beautifully to stop you from living an extraordinary life.

It takes great courage to live the life you want to live anyway in spite of this voice.

This is the moment when you get to choose.

Ordinary or extraordinary.

It is your choice.

This is your moment to make a commitment to yourself to live an extraordinary life.

To take your life to the next level.

Are you ready?

What would it take for you to make that leap?

Sit with whatever comes up for you for a few minutes.

You When you are ready,

Take a deep breath and flutter your eyes open.

Stretch your body and take a moment to transition your focus back into the room.

Breathe.

Welcome back.

Feel free to journal now about your experience or about any ideas or insights that arose for you during this process.

Thank you.
