This is a gently guided Reiki self-treatment track with music, bells at four-minute intervals and nine hand positions. It enables you to give yourself a holistic self-treatment to include the seven chakra centres and some of the minor chakras. Become comfortable in whatever position you prefer for self-treating.

Consciously soften your face and jaw and relax your neck and shoulders.

Connect to your breath and take a little time to feel your body receiving support on the surface beneath you.

Let your whole body and being sink and soften.

For position one,

Place your hands gently over your eyes.

This position will cover the physical eyes,

The third eye chakra and the minor chakras behind each eye.

Bring your attention to the physical sensations which naturally occur from the contact of your hands over your eyes.

This will help your mind to withdraw from thinking and tune you in to what you can feel and sense.

Let your gaze turn inwards as you rest deeply inside the third eye chakra.

Let your full presence be aware of what energy sensations are here.

If you find your attention drifting,

Just come back to the hands over the eyes,

The natural physical sensations and then deeper into the energy sensations.

For position two,

Slide your hands over to either side of your face so that your fingers cover your right and left temples and the palms of your hands rest on your jawline.

Let the pressure here be comfortable.

Be aware of natural sensations on the contact and any energy sensations.

Let your arms and shoulders stay soft and relaxed.

For position three,

Move your hands around to the back of your head so that you are cradling the base of your skull or if you prefer it,

Have one hand on the base of your head and the other one on your neck.

Again,

Let your arms relax as you place your full attention here and enjoy the feeling of ease and comfort.

For position four,

Slide your hands forwards to either side of your throat to bring healing energy to your throat chakra and the minor chakras of the thymus gland and where the collarbones meet.

Let the pressure from your hands be gentle and let their listening attention to whatever energy sensations are here.

Be deep.

Remind yourself that your energy system will integrate as much of the Reiki as it can at this time.

Its own intelligence will direct where and how much of the energy it needs.

Having treated the four positions on the head and throat,

We will now move to the torso.

For position five,

Slide your hands onto your upper chest to cover the heart chakra and the minor chakras above each breast.

Feel for any natural sensations here and then,

Listening with your hands,

Take your awareness deep inside your heart chakra as you hold yourself with loving presence.

Breathe naturally and evenly and greet whatever sensations arise here with peace and equanimity.

For position six and the second position on the torso,

Slide the hands down to the solar plexus.

Have the hands in whatever position you usually choose for the most comfort.

Rest your hands here,

Aware of the natural sensations and energy sensations.

Sometimes it's recommended that the fingers stay closed to direct the energy.

If you're finding a lot of sensation here,

Which can sometimes be uncomfortable,

Other solar plexus,

Place one hand here and one hand on the heart.

So again,

You give your body the feeling of being lovingly held.

For position seven,

Slide your hands down to your stomach to cover the minor chakras connected to the gut,

The digestive system and the internal organs.

Feel your stomach gently rise and fall with the breath.

Let your body sink a little more into the surface beneath you.

As you become more deeply present with whatever is taking place here,

Physically and energetically.

Let your hands and heart convey thanks to your stomach for everything it does to keep the body working well.

Receive a feeling of comfort from your hands.

And again,

Remember that no effort is required for Reiki.

No control.

Just an openness.

Whatever energy is needed will arrive.

For position eight,

Slide your hands down to the pelvis to cover the sacral chakra.

There is also a minor chakra here on each side at the base of the pelvis.

The testes or ovaries.

Let your awareness go deep inside the pelvic bowl.

As you feel for any natural sensations,

Any warmth or tingling.

And peacefully witness whatever is taking place energetically.

Now bring the loving energy of your Reiki hands around to the back of your body.

To the base chakra,

The foundation on which all the other chakras depend.

Direct your attention deep inside the base chakra to whatever is arising here.

Let your arms remain soft and hold the position in the way you found easiest.

Perhaps with your body resting on the backs of your hands.

Or with the palms facing upwards at either side of the base chakra.

Relax the whole body.

Relax the arms.

Be aware that this is the final position of the treatment.

Very gently begin to bring the treatment to a close.

Slowly let your attention come back to the surface of your mind and into the room.

Take whatever time you need to rest and gently reflect on the self-treatment before carefully getting up.

And continuing with your day.

Make sure you have a drink of water.

And don't have to rush too much.

Before the treatment is integrated.

And you have your full normal attention back with you.
