This practice uses a combination of yoga nidra relaxation techniques and healing affirmations to support any individual through physical or emotional discomfort. The intention is to remind the listener of the duality of struggle and possibility by simply planting seeds of loving words amidst struggle and uncovering our natural ability to support, nurture and strengthen the self. Meditation includes a body scan and breathwork to calm the nervous system, followed by sankalpa and affirmations.

Hello,

Loved ones.

For this meditation,

We are going to combine the systematic relaxation of yoga nidra with the healing of affirmations.

Oftentimes when we're going through a time of discomfort,

Be it physical or mental,

It can be so easy to get wrapped up in the pain,

The sadness,

The hurt.

And while these are very,

Very normal emotions and feelings,

When we live in that space for too long,

Our brains and bodies begin to normalize that discomfort,

And it can be harder and harder to get out,

To fulfill your best self,

To see the opportunity on the other side of that pain.

And so today,

I offer you an opportunity to be safe,

Supported,

And loved,

Even when you're sad or even when you're feeling this pain,

To introduce the idea,

The possibility that you could turn that corner at any moment.

A poet once said,

Plant healing words in your heart,

And one day you will handle a full garden of love flowers.

We're going to plant some seeds today.

You may not see them bloom right away.

It often takes time to nurture and watch them grow into beautiful flowers.

But we're just going to plant today.

Notice the pain amongst the sadness,

We can do that much.

So before we get started,

Let's make sure you're comfortable.

You can lie down or sit up,

Maybe put a blanket on or an eye pillow,

And just breathe.

And as you exhale,

Just let go of any and all expectations.

Know that just being here,

Just showing up right here is enough.

There's nothing that you need to make happen.

There's no one that you need to please.

And most importantly,

There's nothing that you need to be that you are not already.

So welcome home.

Home to your most relaxed,

Safe,

And peaceful self.

Close your eyes.

Let your body surrender.

Feel the safety of the ground beneath you.

Feel all the places that your body connects with the mat,

The blanket,

The floor,

Whatever's around you,

Whatever supports you.

And just set the intention to be as still and present as possible.

If you fall asleep,

That's okay.

This is a practice that takes practice,

And sometimes that's just what you need.

But if you can stay awake and you can stay present,

That's ideal.

It's time to pay attention to the sounds around the room,

Any voices,

Traffic maybe,

Music playing,

Anything you notice.

Just breathe with it.

Feel the temperature of the air.

Can you feel it as you breathe it in?

Is it cold in your lungs or warm?

And now,

Pay attention to the internal messages of the body,

The aches and pains,

Maybe a constant chatter,

The worries,

The to-do lists,

Any anxiety.

Let them come.

Say thank you for being here,

For bringing these thoughts and feelings to my attention.

Let them float in and out of your mind easily.

No judgment.

Each accompanying a nice,

Deep breath.

As you watch the thoughts coming in and out of your mind,

Take the opportunity to fill this new space with a sankalpa,

An intention for today's practice,

Maybe even for your way of life.

But think about how you want to feel something that is simple in the present tense and positive.

It could be something as simple as I am safe or I am loved.

It could also be more pointed.

More and more,

I am choosing forgiveness over resentment.

Discover that sankalpa naturally.

It is unique to you at this time,

In this moment.

And now focus again on your physical body.

We will begin the rotation of consciousness when we take a trip through all the different parts of the body,

Swiftly bringing our mental attention from part to part,

Just long enough to imagine a drop of oil,

A soft kiss or touch on each part of the body before moving on to the next.

Take comfort knowing that no one part of the body is more deserving of attention than the others.

Every inch receives the same gift of awareness and tenderness.

We will begin with the right hand thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Palm of the right hand,

Right wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Right armpit,

Shoulder blade,

Right side of the chest,

Right side of the waist,

Right hip,

Right backside,

Right side of the groin,

Right thigh,

Right knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

Heel of the right foot,

Sole of the foot,

Top of the foot.

And now each toe on the right foot in turn.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

In the thumb of your left hand now,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little hand,

Left wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Left armpit,

Shoulder blade,

Left side of the chest,

Left side of the waist,

Left hip,

Left side of the groin,

And backside,

Left thigh,

Left knee,

Calf,

Ankle,

Heel of the right foot.

Heel of the foot,

Sole of the foot,

Top of the foot.

And now each of the toes on the foot in turn,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

And now to the back,

Become aware of the right shoulder blade and left shoulder blade,

The right backside,

Left backside,

The full length of the spine,

The whole back together.

Now move to the front of the body,

The top of the head,

The forehead,

Both sides of the head,

The right eyebrow,

The left eyebrow,

And the space between the eyebrows,

The right eyelid and left eyelid,

The right ear,

The left ear,

The right cheek,

Left cheek,

The bridge of the nose and the tip of the nose,

The upper lip,

Lower lip,

Chin,

Throat,

Right side of the chest,

Left side of the chest,

Belly,

Groin,

And the whole of the right leg,

The whole of the left leg,

The whole of the right arm,

The whole of the left arm,

The whole of the back,

Backside,

Spine and shoulder blades,

The whole of the front,

Abdomen,

Chest,

The whole of the body together,

Relaxed and present,

The whole of the body together.

See the whole of your body supported,

The whole body.

And now we focus our attention back to our breath.

We will be doing our breath in the count of four,

Breathing in for a count of four,

Holding that breath for a count of four,

Breathing out for a count of four,

And holding at the bottom of that breath for a count of four.

Here now,

In,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Release,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four.

In,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

And release,

Two,

Three,

Four,

And hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Again,

In,

Two,

Three,

Four,

And hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Release,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Again,

In,

And hold,

Release,

And hold.

One more time,

We breathe in,

All the way,

Hold,

Release,

All the way,

And hold.

Now bring that breath back,

No more holding,

No more tension at the top or the bottom,

Just relaxed,

But that much more aware,

That much more appreciative of the breath coming in and out of your body.

Now we start with our healing affirmations.

Let us plant,

One by one,

Seeds of love,

Encouragement,

Trust,

A little gratitude and acceptance.

With each expression of possibility,

We welcome the truth tucked deep within that seed.

Your only job is to nourish it,

Nourish it with an open mind,

Seeing that possibility over time in full bloom.

Repeat after me.

I am thankful for the breath I breathe.

I love the person I see in the mirror.

I am proud of my efforts and intention.

I easily set energetic boundaries that protect my energy.

I am enough.

My mind is brilliant.

Every cell in my body vibrates with radiant health.

As I forgive myself,

It becomes easier to forgive others.

I give myself permission to evolve.

I am patient with myself every day.

My body knows how to heal itself and is restoring itself in this moment.

I listen to my body and honor its unique wisdom.

Peace flows through my mind and body like a soft flowing stream.

I am surrounded by love.

I am free to walk away from toxic energy and destructive doubts.

I am at home in my body.

I accept my power.

I embrace new experiences,

Challenges,

And people.

Every choice I make is the right one for me in this moment on my path for my growth.

I am enough.

I am enough.

I am enough.

In the spirit of growth and possibility,

It is time to remember that sankalpa that you said at the beginning of this practice.

Say it now,

Think it now three times and seal it knowing that it is very possible and very much within you within that seed.

Our meditation practice is now coming to an end.

Little by little,

You will start to develop awareness of your body and your breath.

You can start wiggling your fingers and toes.

Massage your head back and forth,

Stretching your neck slowly from side to side.

Maybe make those movements a little bigger,

That breath a little fuller.

Become more and more aware of your surroundings.

Just allow the sounds and smells to come back into focus.

You can keep your eyes closed,

But just keep moving your body now.

Bring your knees to your chest.

Give your body a nice big hug.

Feel the release as you come out of that squeeze.

Maybe outstretch your arms above your head,

Feeling your body lengthen.

If you're lying down or you want to move out of your seated position,

I invite you to roll onto your side.

Just take a few deep breaths,

Resting your head on your arm,

Maybe putting a pillow between your legs.

When you're ready,

I invite you to sit up fully.

You can bring your hands to your heart and take a few more deep,

Restful breaths.

As we finish our practice,

We extend our deepest gratitude,

For it is often in our discomfort and in our pain that we are propelled to get out of our comfort zone and to start searching for different ways,

Different answers,

And more importantly,

Start searching within.

Be proud of yourself today and always.

Namaste,

Loved ones.

Very nice & helpful! 😊 I had the atlas orthogonal adjustment on my neck about 3 weeks ago. It had been misaligned for 42 years! I’m going through a complete transformation/reset emotionally, physically & energetically. It’s hell, but I know I’ll come out on the other side feeling amazing!
