Welcome,

Everybody,

To today's meditation of radical forgiveness into love.

Before we start this meditation today,

Please make sure that you are seated comfortably and will not be interrupted during the duration of this meditation.

Forgiveness is a tough topic for many of us,

But it is something that all of us could improve on.

Many of us move throughout life without forgiving ourselves and those that are around us that maybe we hurt or have hurt us,

And because of this,

We can perpetuate a cycle of pain.

So today,

As you join me,

I would like us to start to forgive from the smallest instances such as a stranger maybe stepping on your foot,

To the big ones that create lasting lifelong trauma,

If not healed.

Before we begin,

Before we even close our eyes,

Join me in feeling the sensations of being alive.

Feel yourself within your body and place your presence somewhere in your body,

Whether it be behind your eyes,

In your heart space,

Or even today,

In your root chakra.

And with a smile,

Now close your eyes.

Use this moment to ground deep within the earth so you feel stable and secure and held.

Take a moment to feel that relationship and that moving current,

That exchange of energy from deep beneath us into our most sacred self.

To help you focus,

Sit with yourself and say calmly,

I call myself back from every time,

Every space,

Every dimension,

And every reality to be present,

Fully,

And with commitment,

Here and now.

Feel this bond a little bit longer of how in this moment you are safe,

In this moment you are held,

And in this moment you are loved.

If this is your first time practicing this exercise,

I encourage you to begin small,

But the more often you use this exercise,

I encourage you to go big.

Now,

As we begin,

Focus your energy to a moment that needs forgiveness.

Look across from you in your mind's eye and see whoever caused the pain across from you.

It could be a stranger,

An estranged friend,

A family member,

Co-worker,

Or even yourself,

If that is what you need.

Visualize them as clearly as you can,

As if they were truly sitting across from you.

Allow this moment to be a neutral moment.

Now for only a minute,

Feel everything that their moment of hurt caused you.

Feel within you the anger,

The pain,

The rejection,

Whatever it was.

Feel those moments rise to the top,

Feel them fully and completely.

Ask yourself,

What do these feelings bring to me?

Why do I feel this way?

What are they triggering?

And let them tell you their truth.

Now let go of those feelings and return to a space of neutrality.

Look back at that person and now is time to step into their shoes.

Now we are practicing empathy.

Spend some time thinking of every possible reason this person did what they did,

Reacted the way they did.

Whatever you need to tell yourself,

Find every reason to explore your empathy without diminishing yourself.

As you go through this process,

It is important to keep your heart open.

You are to feel true empathy with whomever is across from you,

Realizing them as the complete and complex individual that they are.

Use this moment now to truly understand the importance and the weight of the word,

Sonder,

That everyone else in the world has as complex lives as our own.

When you are ready,

Embrace them and tell them,

I forgive you.

Say it as often,

As much,

As deeply as you need to,

To release all of the pain and all of the hurt that you can.

I forgive you.

I forgive you.

You are forgiven.

What I like to imagine in this moment is that this ugly sand is being pulled from my body.

As it is coming out of me,

It is shaping itself into a ship.

And as it leaves,

A wind comes and starts to blow this ship into the sunset on the far horizon.

The further away it gets,

The lighter I feel as it takes away my pain,

My suffering,

And my forgiveness.

As you watch this ship sail away,

Take a moment to be in gratitude and think about everything that you have gained due to this encounter.

Has it made you stronger,

Braver,

Kinder?

Well during this meditation,

It helped you bring about more self-love,

And more empathy,

And more strength,

And I am really proud of you for that.

Congratulations!

Now,

It is perfectly okay if you need to return to this meditation in order to completely forgive someone,

Or something,

Some event,

Or even yourself.

And do remember that building up unconditional love,

That forgiving someone,

Does not mean creating unconditional access to your presence.

I would like you to sit in a moment with me,

Of thinking of all the love,

All the growth,

The positivity,

The warmth,

Everything that has surrounded you since.

Sit in this moment of love with me,

And today,

You brought a little more of that into your life.

Well done!

Thank you so much for joining with me today.

As we wrap up the meditation,

Feel that root chakra grounding into the earth where you are safe and protected.

Feel your heart chakra open up wide and expansive.

Imagine all the wonderful things that are now in your life.

Imagine all of the things that bring you happiness,

And joy,

And love,

And gratitude.

Sit with them now,

Especially if it was hard for you to forgive.

Take a moment and even say thank you to yourself for being here today.

Thank you for coming.

Highest blessings for your highest good,

Whatever that may be.

Go with good grace.

Namaste.
