Today we will focus on embracing growth.
You will need a notepad and pen to do some journaling later in this session.
You can pause the recording if you need to and then get settled where you feel comfortable.
Let's start by taking a few deep breaths.
Inhale all the way into your abdomen.
Inhale pushing all of the air out through your mouth.
This could feel like a sigh releasing tension as you breathe.
As you get comfortable with your breath,
I want to share this quote with you from Thich Nhat Hanh.
Enlightenment is growing all the time.
It is not something that happens once and is then complete.
Enlightenment is gaining insight or maybe perspective about a situation,
Another person,
Even yourself.
If we take time to slow down,
To pay attention,
We find that we are always growing.
We are always being enlightened about what is happening in our lives.
And most importantly,
In our own bodies and minds.
Take another deep breath in,
Inhaling confidence.
And breathe out,
Exhale releasing all doubt.
Inhale Exhale As we continue our meditation,
We know that growth is happening.
By taking steps to be here,
Practicing,
Embracing this opportunity,
You're gaining insight to overcome any obstacles that might come up as you pursue growth and expansion in your life.
Now let's affirm this intention of growth for ourselves.
You can say this out loud or quietly in your head.
I'm free to do everything needed for the sake of growth.
I open my mind to all the opportunities around me.
Now repeat that for you,
I'm free to do everything needed for the sake of growth.
I open my mind to all the opportunities around me.
Now you can let go of the awareness of your breath and shift your thoughts to embracing growth.
With a few prompts that you will write about in a moment.
I'd like you to first take some time to connect within and really feel whatever comes to you right now as we explore this topic.
What is one thing that I can do each day to see opportunities around me?
Can you slow down?
Take more breaks?
Create intentional times to pause.
So often we are rushing through the motions to get this task done,
To go here,
Do that.
We miss so many opportunities.
We pass right by them.
Sometimes our mind is so full of chatter that we might see the opportunity,
But we can't hear it.
We don't have enough space to process what that growth could look like in our lives.
How can you make space to see what's out there waiting for you?
Whatever comes to mind,
You might be inclined to smile and I encourage you to do that.
This physical action of smiling deepens your connection to the thoughts and feelings that you're experiencing right now.
How can I commit to this growth so obstacles don't get in my way?
Many of us stay in our comfort zone because we know there won't be any challenges.
We won't have to overcome obstacles or maneuver hurdles.
It's safe because of this.
When we try to grow,
When we try to move outside our comfort zone,
The minute there is a challenge,
We back away.
The brain says,
Can't do it.
Not possible.
Go back to that place that we know is safe.
What can you do to commit to growth so that these obstacles become learning experiences instead of scaring you away from trying?
Each day you could write down three reasons you want to grow.
You could come back to this meditation as often as you need to realign with your goals of growth.
You could make a list of five small actions when done daily will help you grow so it doesn't feel so hard or overwhelming.
How can you honor your commitment?
What can I do to enjoy and honor my growth?
As mentioned,
Growth is usually scary and intimidating for most of us.
We don't like to push through hard things.
We can't see what's on the other side.
So to make this easier,
It's important to figure out how to enjoy the growth and honor it as it's happening.
Remember enlightenment,
Gaining insight,
Growing is always happening if we let it.
There isn't a beginning and an end.
Celebrating each step you take toward growth is one way to help you enjoy it.
Did you take one small step today?
Write it down.
Make a list so after a few days or a week,
You can see just how far you've come.
Share it with a friend.
Connect with me and I will celebrate with you.
Creating rituals around your growth can encourage you to keep going.
Maybe you want to read more and you struggle making time.
Take a cup of coffee or tea and sit down with your book for 10 minutes.
Enjoy that time.
Maybe you'd like to move your body more.
Perhaps you listen to a podcast or you find a walking meditation and you take time to grow and have that in your life.
Setting a goal can also honor your growth.
And then once you're there,
Guess what?
Write before setting off onto the next goal.
Maybe you're feeling like it's really hard.
Honor that too.
Give yourself some space to breathe and reflect on why you're feeling challenged.
Honoring growth is important.
For teaching the brain to try new things and telling it that you're safe and you're okay.
Take a few more deep breaths and open your eyes.
Grab your notepad and pen and let's write down our affirmation.
I'm free to do everything needed for the sake of growth.
I open my mind to all the opportunities around me.
I'm free to do everything needed for the sake of growth.
I open my mind to all the opportunities around me.
Now let's reflect on the questions that we just spent some time exploring.
What is one thing that I can do today to see opportunities around me?
What is one thing that I can do today to see opportunities around me?
What is one thing that I can do today to see opportunities around me?
How can I commit to this growth so obstacles don't get in my way?
How can I commit to this growth so obstacles don't get in my way?
How can I commit to this growth so obstacles don't get in my way?
What can I do to enjoy and honor my growth?
What can I do to enjoy and honor my growth?
I will give you a few more moments here to write all the things that you're feeling right now.
But as always,
I invite you to pause this recording and continue to write as long as you wish,
Or return to this topic and see what changes.
Maybe a different day or time of day will give you a different insight and perspective.
Lastly,
Is there anything else that comes to mind while thinking about these questions?
Are there any specific words or thoughts or feelings that you would like to hold on to?
Is there anything that came to you during this time that you would like to move forward with in your daily life?
As we finish up,
Take a few more deep breaths.
Hold your hands over your heart in gratitude for yourself and move forward honoring all that you are right here and now embracing growth.
