Good morning.
Welcome to In The Flow.
I hope you're having a great day so far.
I hope the weather is good where you are and that you have a smile on your face.
Yay!
Alright,
So I was watching a TV show the other day and the guy on it said,
What really matters to you?
I was like,
Ooh,
There's a good one.
What really matters?
What really matters to you?
What really matters to me?
And I thought,
Wow,
That's a question that we don't ask ourselves that often,
Right?
You know,
And it's something that,
It's a question we should ask ourselves.
And that's why,
Of course,
He was asking it because it was,
You know,
It was,
It was what he needed to,
It was the premise of his little speech there.
But,
You know,
Deep down,
Do you really know what matters to you?
What matters to you?
And here's the thing,
And this is the cool part of this.
We don't,
It can be right,
I mean,
Whatever it is that you say for you is right.
So what matters to you?
I mean,
You can say family,
You can say all the right things because it's just in your mind.
You don't have to tell me,
You don't have to tell anybody,
Right?
What really,
Deep down,
What matters to you?
Right?
I mean,
It could be your family,
Of course,
It could be,
You know,
All the important things,
You know,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Health and all that stuff.
But it could be your car,
You could say your car,
Or you could say,
I mean,
You could say anything.
But I think it's so,
Such an important question for us to like,
Say to ourselves once in a while,
To figure out what really matters to us.
Interesting question,
Right?
There is,
You know,
And that one of my favorite sayings,
And I may have made this up,
I don't know,
Nothing's right,
Nothing's wrong,
It just is,
Right?
So,
So when you say that to yourself,
What really matters to me,
You have to think of it in terms of that.
It doesn't,
Nothing is right,
Nothing is wrong,
Just what matters.
Friendships,
Your house,
Your clothes,
You know,
I'm just sitting here reminding myself of,
You know,
We have,
We start in Southern California here,
We struggle with these fires,
Right?
And it's so fascinating to me because you see,
You watch on TV,
You know,
With these huge fires and people getting evacuated and all that stuff.
And they have these,
A lot of,
Not all the time,
But sometimes there's these big,
Huge houses,
You know,
And they're at risk for,
Of the fire.
And the news reporters will come up and say,
What did you take?
You left,
You had to leave your house in like,
You had five minutes.
What did you take with you?
And they said,
The important papers and pictures.
And of course,
Maybe a computer,
You know,
Because that's kind of important,
You know,
But pictures,
Memories.
Wow.
And I was like,
Every single time,
And you know what,
Because I'm one of those weird people that thinks of all this stuff,
Right?
I always seem to notice that that's what they say.
They go for the mementos,
The family photo album or the,
You know,
Grandpa's sword from whatever war,
What,
I don't know,
Making that up,
Obviously.
But you know,
Isn't that interesting?
So I love,
I love that thought process,
What is important to you?
So we are going to meditate on this today.
Because when we figure out what is important to us and what matters to us,
It helps us figure out who we are as people.
Right,
Wrong or indifferent,
You know,
It doesn't,
It,
There is no like good or bad in this situation.
It just helps us figure out who we are.
I,
You know,
What matters to me,
I'll be honest,
Of course,
The family and all that stuff matters to me,
But my car matters to me.
I love my car.
I don't know why,
But it does.
I'm not scared to admit that,
You know,
It matters to me.
It might be down the scale just a little bit,
Maybe,
But you know,
It matters.
And that's like the whole thing,
Figuring out who we are,
You know.
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
Let's get ourselves seated properly.
Oh yeah,
Let's take a nice really deep breath in where it goes,
The breath goes down into your toes the whole way through your body.
So breathe in and release it.
Gorgeous.
Let's take one more deep breath in because that felt so good.
I think we need to do it again.
Breathe in through your nose,
Feeling that beautiful coldness of your breath going into your lungs,
Into your belly,
And release.
That's such an amazing little exercise to do first thing in the morning.
It's almost like it's energizing,
Right?
Love that.
So today,
Let's concentrate on relaxing.
Relaxing into who we really are.
Relaxing into accepting ourselves for who we are.
Being okay with the me inside,
The real me,
And being okay with that.
I want you to sit with your palms up on your lap,
Or you can be laying down,
But your palms up.
I want us to put our attention on our crown chakra.
Our crown chakra is just above our heads,
The crown of our head,
Obviously.
I want you to imagine that lotus flower up there,
Just gently opening up,
Allowing the universal energy to flow into us and into our bodies.
That energy comes down in through our crown chakra,
Into our heads,
And our necks,
Our shoulders.
Allow that beautiful white light energy to come in,
Down in through our shoulders,
And our arms,
Our hands,
Our torso,
Just flowing deep beautifully in through our body,
Down into our abdomen and our back,
Our pelvis area,
And going down our legs,
Tops of our legs,
All the way down to our ankles and our feet.
And as it goes down to our feet,
It meets the energy from Mother Earth in our root chakra.
As that energy from the root chakra starts coming up into our bodies through our feet and our root chakra,
Mother Earth energy meeting with the energy from the universe.
You may feel a tingling throughout your body as these energies come together.
And as we sit in the silence for just a few moments,
Let's concentrate on our breath.
Concentrate breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Start to feel the chair where you're sitting.
Allow yourself just that extra few minutes,
Few seconds to sit quietly.
And let's seal this by taking a nice deep breath in again,
Very deep into your belly.
Over your nose.
And breathe out.
Very good.
Now when you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
Very good.
I hope that felt good today.
I think we needed a soothing meditation day,
Right?
So as you go throughout today,
Maybe just consider what is it that really does matter to me?
It can help you figure out who you really are.
And that's a good thing.
That's a good thing.
So I love you guys so much.
Thank you so much for joining me as always.
And until next time,
Everybody.
Namaste.
