Namaste everybody.
Welcome to In The Flab with Flurry Albert.
So keeping it real.
This is,
You know what,
I always have a story,
Right?
Keeping it real,
Our heater is out.
Okay,
I live in Southern California.
Not really a huge problem,
Right?
It's been chilly,
But wouldn't you know our heater goes out when it's not really that that cold.
Now here's the reason why I'm saying this because you know yesterday this happened yesterday and you know all I could think of was this is such a small issue,
You know?
And in my brain I was like,
Oh my god,
Well we have to call a guy,
We have to do that,
That,
That,
That,
That,
Whatever.
How are we gonna deal with this,
Right?
I wasn't upset about it,
But it just is like,
Okay we got to do this,
This,
This,
And this.
Then I started really putting it into kind of perspective in that the people in Texas have,
Well had,
No power,
Which means no heat,
Which means pipes bursting because it's freezing outside,
Can't really go anywhere.
I mean it's bad there,
Right?
And then I started thinking about,
I have a friend that lives there,
Okay?
And she used to live here,
She moved back over there,
And she was posting the entire time like that they were going through it because they didn't have power.
They're,
So they didn't have power,
Their pipes were bursting,
They had animals because they live on a farm.
They had animals,
Like they were like worried,
But you know what?
There was not one like,
Oh my god I'm so scared,
None of that,
Right?
She was like,
They were like,
She and her kids were out like,
Because it snowed in Texas,
Crazy,
Right?
They were out there making snow angels and snowmen and all that stuff,
And all I could think of was,
You know,
It's all about your perspective,
You know?
When we get told bad news,
When we get,
You know,
When something happens,
It's really all about our perspective because you know what?
Things are eventually gonna be okay,
Right?
So as much,
And I wasn't like freaking out over the no heat thing.
I was a little worried about being cold,
But guess what?
Ironically,
We have this main,
Like we have a fireplace and we build a fire,
And then we got this idea on how to maneuver the heat that was in the living room into the rest of the house,
And it's warmer than it's been,
You know,
In our house during the night since forever.
We didn't know we could do that,
You know?
So that's the point,
You know?
If you just sit back,
Like if you start panicking about stuff,
It really doesn't do anybody any good,
Especially you or me.
Do you know what I'm saying?
I'm not saying this just to you.
I'm saying this to all of us,
You know?
My friend,
She was taking pictures of herself wading through the water because their pipes were bursting,
But she still had a calm attitude.
We just need to keep moving forward.
You just need to keep moving forward.
That's just it,
You know?
So it's all about perspective.
It's all about our perspective,
You know?
We have choices on how we handle things,
And here's the thing.
Even if you know that you would react a certain way to a bad news of whatever,
Right?
Start to notice how you are thinking in those,
And that's part of,
You know,
I don't mean to sound all dramatic,
But that's part of our journey to enlightenment,
Is recognizing how we're reacting to things,
Be it good news or bad news,
You know?
So we have a choice in how we move forward through adversity,
Right?
We have a choice,
And if we start to recognize how we are reacting to things,
That's the key to getting through it and not freaking out,
Right?
It's all perspective.
So we are meditating on this today,
Right?
All right.
Okay,
So let's get ourselves comfortable,
And you know,
I thought I was gonna need a blanket.
Don't need a blanket today.
This is what I'm saying,
You know?
It's pretty awesome.
Okay,
So let's close our eyes real gently.
Let's take a nice deep breath in and release it.
Absolutely perfect.
Nothing like that first deep breath of the day.
Perfect.
Beautiful.
So as we get ready to sit in the silence and stillness,
Let's start thinking of just a few things that we are grateful for.
What are you grateful for today in your life?
There's got to be at least at least three.
Let's think of three things today.
We should be able to do many more than that,
Actually,
But we're going with three today.
It could be as simple as the new towels you bought for your bathroom,
Or it could be as complex as you actually had a really meaningful conversation with somebody yesterday.
What are you grateful for?
And to further that,
To further that,
These are part of David G's sacred questions,
Which I love.
Who are you being when you are at your best?
When you are being at your best,
Who are you being?
Are you being compassionate,
Loving,
Happy,
Joyful?
When you're at your best,
When you're being your best self.
You know,
For some people that's kind of a hard question to answer,
But when we start to really consider when we are being our best self,
Who are we being?
Beautiful.
So our mantra for today as we are meditating is this,
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Now if you lose the mantra as we're sitting,
That's absolutely okay.
It may morph into something different,
Or if you lose it altogether,
You can come and focus on your breath.
There's always a way to get back to the breath.
So I will keep the time,
And let's sit in the silence and stillness of meditation.
I will keep the time and let's begin.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
We will repeat the mantra one last time.
Happiness and joy flow freely within me.
Let's take a nice deep breath in through your nose and release it.
Perfect.
Whenever you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
How awesome.
Very good.
So today,
Let's start really considering,
I don't know,
For me anyway,
I'm considering my perspective on stuff.
I just want to realize how I react to certain things,
Even if,
Not even just situations,
But people.
How do I react if somebody says something to me that bothers me?
How do I react to that?
So I just find that to be interesting.
So let's look at the different ways of seeing things.
It's all about perspective,
Right?
So thank you so much for joining today,
As usual.
I love you guys so much.
From my heart to yours,
Namaste.
Have a beautiful day.
