Good morning!

Namaste everybody.

I hope everybody's doing great today.

Having a wonderful day.

My name is Lori Albert.

Welcome to In The Flow.

I have a really beautiful story to tell you guys today.

So recently I had a sort of a disagreement with somebody.

Right?

And this was,

Well first of all for right now,

You know,

It started obviously in my own my own head.

And I felt like I was being wronged.

And that could have went,

You know,

I could have done a couple of different things.

Right?

I could have just sat on it and just stewed sort of.

Or I could have talked to them.

Or I could have just let the friendship go.

To be honest,

I could have.

But what I decided to do was,

It was always a lesson in everything.

Right?

I guess I got that from my mother.

Always a lesson in everything.

Right?

So I decided to talk to this person.

So I talked to this person and I laid out sort of my,

For lack of a better way to describe it,

Grievances.

And the grievances,

You know,

I was pretty,

You know,

I laid out my view.

And that could have went a couple of different ways.

That person could have said,

You know,

Screw you.

You know,

Get out of here.

Or that person could have said,

Oh my god,

Oh my god,

Oh my god,

I'm really sorry.

And not told me their viewpoint.

Or they could have told me their viewpoint and we could have had a meaningful discussion.

And that's what we did.

We had a meaningful discussion.

And it's so interesting because I recognized that my view on what the situation was,

Was simply my view.

And their view was their view.

And you know what?

It's so fascinating because that is actually one of the steps of the Eightfold Path in Buddhism.

Right view.

And what's interesting so much about that is,

Is that I had my viewpoint and that was my truth.

That was exactly how I believed.

And then this other person had their viewpoint and that was how they believed.

That was what they thought was their truth.

And I found that to be,

And the cool thing was,

Is that we had an amazing discussion.

And like,

We're,

You know,

Everything worked itself out because we were mature enough to have that kind of discussion.

Right?

So,

And everything is great.

And everything,

Like,

I feel invigorated in our relationship.

Right?

And what's so fascinating that I learned from that,

Because of the Buddhist Eightfold Path step of Right View,

Is that there are multiple Right Views.

Just because I have my Right View doesn't mean it's the same as yours.

So in discussing that and recognizing that,

I found that to be so fascinating because I can have mine and you can have yours.

And it's all correct.

That's the cool part.

It's all correct.

So,

Very interesting.

I can have my viewpoint.

You can have yours.

I can be right.

I can be wrong.

I was,

I was wrong to make myself right.

Who am I to make myself the be-all end-all of truth.

Right?

It was my truth,

But it wasn't the other person's truth.

So,

Wow!

I mean,

That was like,

You know,

In a sense,

That was kind of mind blown in a,

You know,

In a sense.

So today,

What I want to do is I want to meditate on truth.

And I don't mean necessarily like one person's lying,

One person's telling the truth kind of thing.

It's just truth.

There is no,

In terms of this discussion,

There is no lie.

My truth is my truth and your truth is your truth.

And it's all okay.

I just love that.

I just think that is so powerful.

It makes me feel invigorated because I don't have to run around making myself wrong all the time.

You know,

Like,

Oh my gosh,

I just said blah blah blah and that,

But that was my truth,

But now that person feels bad or whatever.

But it's,

It's,

It's right view.

So really cool,

Right?

It's a really cool conversation,

I thought.

Anyway,

Okay,

So what we are going to do is we are going to meditate on truth.

Living,

Being,

Speaking,

Seeing our truth,

Seeing the other viewpoint as well,

Because that's,

I think that's part of it,

Is seeing the other,

The other viewpoint,

The other person's view.

That's important too.

But you're allowed to have your view and your truth.

So let's get ourselves comfortable because we are going to meditate.

So let's get ourselves comfortable.

You can be laying down,

Sitting in a chair,

Feet flat on the floor,

Feet flat on the floor,

Or you can be cross-legged.

I happen to,

I just,

I just have a better meditation when I say cross-legged.

I don't know why,

But you know,

So.

So let's take a nice deep breath through our nose and breathe out.

Perfect.

Let's take another nice long deep,

Deep breath in and release.

Very good.

So today the challenge is to meditate with a smile on our face.

Right?

Because we are all about truth,

Right?

It's all truth.

So today's mantra for the meditation is Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

And what that means in Sanskrit is,

I am truth.

I am truth.

Very good.

So what we want to do is repeat that over and over again with a smile on our face.

Right?

So on this beautiful day,

What are you grateful for?

What is one,

Two,

Three things that you are just so appreciative of in your life?

This might sound really strange,

But I am so grateful for candlelight.

It brings a warmth.

I am grateful for meditation,

My practice of meditation.

What are you grateful for?

Now as we start to sit in the silence and stillness here,

Our mantra is Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

As we repeat that over and over again,

Know that you are truth.

Sat Nam means I am truth.

So if you lose the mantra,

Just concentrate on your smile and concentrate on your breath.

Come back to it.

Sat Nam.

Just gently bring yourself back.

And let's begin.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Sat Nam.

Let's take a nice deep,

Deep breath in.

And release.

Whenever you feel comfortable,

You can open your eyes.

What a great way to start our day,

Right?

Meditating on truth.

How perfect.

So how did you do with smiling through?

I know that can be a challenge,

But there's something about when you make yourself smile that it just allows you to,

It just brings the happiness,

Right?

So thank you so much for joining today.

I really appreciate each and every one of you.

And until next time everybody,

Namaste.

Have a beautiful day.
