Namaste.

Welcome to In The Flow with Lori Albert.

So what is the first thing that you think about when you wake up in the morning?

Do you even remember?

It's kind of a tough thing sometimes to remember exactly what it is that you think about first thing in the morning,

Right?

For me,

I need two minutes of just pushing it and like,

You know,

Because my brain doesn't click for like.

.

.

That's a great way to describe that too.

My brain needs like two minutes,

Not even that long sometimes,

To just click,

Right?

And just move into move into what I'm feeling,

Right?

So,

But here's my thing.

I read about Wayne Dyer one time and he was talking about how before he even opens his eyes,

He says,

Thank you.

So for the longest time,

And I still try to do this on a daily basis,

Is say thank you.

The second I open my eyes,

My first thought to be thank you.

Can you imagine how that would set up your day?

If you started it out by just saying thank you,

How would that start your day?

I love that.

I love that so so much,

And I try to do it.

What happens to me though is,

And I try to keep it real,

Because it's like I say all this stuff,

And this is so so true,

But you know,

I'm struggling just like everybody else,

Right?

So anyway,

So what happens to me is is that I get up,

Put my feet on the floor,

And I go into the bathroom,

I look in the mirror,

And I say hi.

Don't ask me why that happens.

I say hi,

Right?

So after another really short period of time,

Then I'll be like,

I'm grateful.

Thank you.

Right?

So it takes me just a minute,

But it starts your day out in such a beautiful way when you just start saying thank you the second you wake up.

So here's the thing,

On the whole other side of that is the last thing you think of before you go to sleep.

What is that?

What do you think of the last second before you go to sleep?

The last minutes?

It could be thank you.

It could be,

You know,

I'm grateful.

But if we can remember to do all this,

So here's my thing.

When we start out our day saying thank you,

Right?

It kind of sets up your day,

The trajectory of your day to be positive and to be happy and to be forward-moving in our lives,

Right?

And then,

And positive I guess I should say.

I want to use that word positive too,

Right?

And then at the end of the day,

When we say thank you for the day or think of our gratitude list right before we go to sleep,

Like what was what was good about today?

You know,

Whenever we do that,

That creates a peace in our sleep that's amazing.

So starting out the day grateful,

Ending the day grateful,

Or even just on a positive note.

You know,

Sometimes life doesn't hit you that way.

Sometimes there's things that happen in your life that just aren't great,

Right?

So you don't want to feel like you have to be like every single day grateful.

And you should be in a perfect world,

Right?

But sometimes you just can't,

Right?

And I try to keep it real.

I really,

Really do.

So if you could just look at at the end of the day after that really icky,

I'm not gonna say the word,

After that really not so great day,

Just think to yourself thank you anyway.

Thank you anyway.

Why not,

Right?

So that's what we are going to meditate on,

The first and the last today,

Right?

So let's get ourselves comfortable because we are going to meditate.

Yay.

Okay,

So get yourself comfortable seated in your chair nicely.

And if you have your feet on the floor,

Try not to cross them.

Put your feet flat on the floor.

And whenever you feel comfortable,

You can close your eyes.

Let's take a nice deep breath in.

Your first breath of the day of gratitude.

Hold it and release.

Perfect.

Your first breath of the day of gratitude.

If you start out grateful,

It ends up to be smiling.

You end up smiling.

So our mantra for today is,

Today is going to be great.

Today is going to be great.

Or you could say it,

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

As we get ready to sit in our silence for just a few minutes,

Let's start out by thinking,

What are a couple things that we can be grateful for?

You know,

Not every day is perfect.

I absolutely get that.

But there's always at least one thing that you can be grateful for in your life.

And what is that for you right now,

Right here?

What is that?

So I live in Los Angeles and it is cold here.

Cold for our standards.

It's cold.

I am so grateful for heat.

I am grateful that the heat went on and I feel warm.

That's what I'm grateful for.

What is one thing that you're grateful for right now?

Today will be a great day.

Today is a great day.

That is our mantra for today.

So let's get situated and comfortable.

I will keep the time and let's repeat our mantra over and over.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

I will keep the time and let's begin.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Today is going to be a great day.

Now,

Whether you are listening to this in the first part of your day or the last part of your day,

That when we start things out and end things in a place of gratitude or positivity,

It really could be anything positive.

When you do that,

You bring your life up to the next level.

So,

Thank you so much for listening today.

From my heart to yours,

Namaste everybody.
