Hello and welcome to this guided session.
Today we will work on envisioning and shaping your best life.
A life of meaning,
Positivity,
Healthy relationships and happiness.
Let's begin by taking a moment to allow your body to settle down.
Find a comfortable position that allows your spine to be long but with a natural curve in the lower back.
You can gently close your eyes or keep them open with a soft gaze downward a few feet in front of you.
Let the belly and shoulders relax and settle further into your seat.
Today I'll guide you through a practice to envision a positive future.
It's a chance to connect with that place inside of ourselves that wants to work towards a life of meaning and fulfillment.
This is a useful way to consider how we care for ourselves and others and how to show up at our best to meet life's challenges.
Before we start,
Take a full breath in and a long breath out.
Allow now the breath to find its natural rhythm in and out.
Let the breath flow naturally without trying to control it and allow yourself to be fully present with it for a few moments.
I'll provide you with questions to prompt ideas and responses that can help you envision your best possible life.
Throughout this practice,
Let your body and mind feel loose and open and repeat the questions I offer silently and to yourself.
Resist the urge to problem solve and see if anything comes up on its own organically.
If nothing comes to mind,
You can always continue to rest your attention on the breath until something comes up.
Let's begin.
Ask yourself,
What kind of a future do I feel deeply moved towards?
Notice the thoughts,
Feelings and images coming to your mind.
Meanwhile remembering to breathe,
Breathing in and out through your nose.
What kind of a future do I feel deeply motivated towards?
As you hold this image of a positive future in your mind,
What kind of feelings are present?
Here are some more questions to help explore the future you feel deeply moved towards.
How can I show up in a way that will allow this positive future to unfold?
Let the question reverberate from within and open yourself to any images or feelings that might come as a response.
How can I show up fully for the opportunities that I encounter?
And again,
Notice the thoughts,
Feelings and images that come to your mind.
Who do I want to be in relation to others?
Don't let your mind take over.
Keep yourself open and come back to your breath if you do need to do so.
What might get in the way and how will I move beyond it?
Remember don't let your mind go into problem solving.
Simply relax and see what comes up naturally to your mind.
What are the skills or capabilities that I'll need to get there?
How do my actions support this future?
And now visualize yourself in that future that you envision.
Where are you?
How does it look like?
Observe it as clearly as you can and observe the feelings that come as a result.
Who is there with you?
Reflect on the things that you did that enabled you to get there.
Visualize yourself doing some of those things.
Maybe it's spending time with family.
Maybe it's engaging in a daily practice that supports clarity and focus.
Maybe it's putting your energy into learning new skills.
Or maybe it's how you allow yourself to connect with others.
See those things in your mind's eye and notice what it feels like as you imagine yourself doing them.
And now take a moment to let go of this image and come back to your breath.
Narrow your attention wherever you can feel your breath coming in and out and stay there present,
Calm and attentive.
You can come back to this visualization practice at any time to rediscover the connection to that place inside that's ready to create your best life.
We all have the ability to improve our lives and the lives of those around us.
Can you take this feeling with you as you head back to your day?
Can you allow it to guide how you interact with your world now?
Let's finish this practice now by taking a few deep breaths.
Breathing in,
Filling your lungs with fresh air.
And breathe out,
Feeling grateful for today's practice.
Breathe in again and breathe out,
Letting go,
Relaxing your body and mind.
And whenever you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes if you had them closed and bring a little smile to your face.
Thank you for taking the time to practice with me today.
