
Inner Child Healing

Who we are today can be greatly effected by our past. By the experiences we have not fully healed from in our lifetime. Our experiences help us or impede us by impacting our choices and reactions. This meditation gives you a safe space to revisit those times within your past, to help heal the inner child. So you may step into your present self feeling fullness, wholeness and acceptance of your full life. It is beneficial for experiences great and small. Whether it be receiving negative criticism from a friend/family member, or something bigger like physical trauma. All experiences are embraced and surrounded with love and light. To allow you to walk your path with acceptance of your past so you can be here, in this moment.
Transcript
We carry our past with us.
Your inner child is still alive and well within you,
And he or she carries the memories of your lifetime.
The feelings that you felt,
The thoughts that you had,
Heaviness,
Doubt,
Fear,
Joy,
Love,
And fun that all follows you here to this moment.
Now by addressing the inner child,
By bringing some awareness to your past,
Some mindfulness,
This can assist you to live more presently,
More fully in this moment of where you are today.
As we bring some light and some love to your inner child,
To your past,
That light and love will reflect in you today,
In this moment who you are,
As we are healing those wounds.
It will allow you to step into a greater truth of your highest self and reflect that into the world.
As you release and soften any negative experiences that may have shaped or formed pieces and parts of you,
So let us begin gently closing your eyes,
Allowing them to feel as if they're resting,
As if your upper eyelids are resting on your lower eyelids and there's a softness in between them,
Making sure you are comfortable wherever you are,
And feeling safe at this time,
Just noting in your mind that you are in a safe and sacred place and that healing can occur as you are ready for it.
I invite you to release any tension in your physical body,
Letting your muscles soften,
Letting go of the hold of any pain you may be feeling,
So you can simply just be in this moment,
Arriving where you are,
In this moment of calmness and presence,
Not in the future and currently not in the past,
Simply just here where you are,
Safe,
Peaceful and present.
We're going to begin this journey by traveling back,
Seeing a calendar in front of you,
The pages begin to turn and wind backwards,
Back to the month,
The day and the year of your birth.
And as we go on this journey,
I invite you to stand and observe as a witness on the sideline.
So we're traveling back to just before the time you were born,
Still within your mother's womb and noticing as this baby,
Still not yet born into the earth,
Into your experiences.
Just notice the comfort within the womb,
The warmth and protection,
The presence in the moment,
With no worries and fears,
No hopes or dreams,
Simply just you living in that womb,
Receiving all that you need,
All the nourishment that you need from your mother's body,
Your soul in this very pure,
Unadulterated state.
And we're moving slowly forward through the birth,
As you are being born,
Coming into the world,
Simply witnessing the beauty of your soul arriving on planet earth.
And we're going to journey forward to a time in your life where you felt immense joy and playfulness,
Whether that was dancing and singing or just being silly with your friends.
This can be at any age,
But it really invokes that essence of being a child,
Of being free,
Of being silly.
It's just allowing any memory to come forth and that first memory that comes forth,
That's where we're going to go.
Now as we are here in this moment,
I want you to simply witness the events unfolding,
Noticing how this younger version of yourself is feeling and how you are reflecting yourself into the world.
Maybe you're even affecting others around you.
This is a time when you are healthy and full and reflecting a beautiful space within you.
Now I'd like for you to lean down to that younger version of yourself.
And ask them if they have any advice for you,
This older version of yourself,
Any advice for how you can bring this energy,
This beingness of being playful,
Allowing your inner child,
Your creative,
Fun,
Open and free self.
Any advice for how they can step forward into your life today,
Within you,
Within your actions and your words,
Leaning down to them and receiving any wisdom or any advice for you that they have.
And you're going to invite them into your heart center.
So you as you are there witnessing and observing your adult self as you appear today,
Your heart center opens and is your energy center of emotion,
Of love,
Of giving and receiving.
You open this up and invite that younger self,
That free,
Playful self inside.
And as they enter your heart,
You feel that energy,
That alive,
Vibrant energy flow into your whole body,
Into your whole being.
And it touches on this inner knowing that this is always accessible to you,
Always accessible.
Notice how you feel when you allow that playful inner child to be free within you.
We're going to journey to another time in your life.
This time,
I want you to allow a memory to come up where you were struggling or where there was suffering.
A memory that could use a little bit of healing,
A little bit of mindfulness and light surrounding it.
Whether you were hurt by someone else,
You were hurt by yourself or you were hurting others,
Really any time there is hurt,
Allow that memory to come forth in your mind.
Now witnessing this event from the sideline,
Seeing it unfold,
Noticing how this younger version of yourself is feeling at this time.
What are you thinking at this time?
And how is your body responding?
How is your energy responding?
If there is anyone else involved in this situation,
I'd like for you to also be mindful of them and what they're going through,
What they're processing as well at this time emotionally,
Mentally,
Physically.
Keep in mind that you are in a very safe space and that if some of these emotions are hard for you to feel right now,
You can dial it down,
But you can also hold space for it and allow these feelings to come up as they arise because they are a part of your truth and there's nothing wrong with living your truth,
With expressing your truth.
As your older and wiser self is there,
I would like for you to lean down to your younger self and take a moment for you to share any wisdom that you can that can help them through this time,
Any words of encouragement or advice,
And taking your time to do so now.
Wonderful work.
I also invite you,
If it feels appropriate,
To offer an apology to yourself or anyone else involved.
As we do this work,
We're coming from your heart space,
From pure love,
From this space of love,
You can also offer forgiveness again for yourself or anyone else involved,
Offering true forgiveness if you feel ready.
And finally,
Offering love,
Love to yourself,
That younger self,
And love to everyone involved.
Even though this event may have been really hard for you and created suffering for you,
It still shaped you into who you are today,
Whether that created a strength or a weakness,
Doesn't matter it impacted and shaped the beautiful person that you are today,
Imperfect,
Which is perfectly human.
So you allow that love to flow to everyone involved,
Because that's all we're ever really looking for is love.
And now finally,
You invite that younger version of yourself who went through this difficult time,
You invite them into your heart center.
And this time,
You're really holding space for that inner child.
Just as your mother held you in her womb,
Completely secure and blanketed,
Taking care of,
Your heart full of love is going to surround this younger version of you with all of the love that they need,
With all of the love and light that they deserve,
Especially at this time.
Beautiful.
Now with this practice,
I invite you to journey to as many areas of trauma,
Of suffering,
Of hardships within your entire lifetime that arise.
And with each one,
Giving some wisdom,
Some advice,
Offering forgiveness,
Offering apologies and sharing love as you invite them back into your heart center.
Because as you invite that wounded child in,
You are repairing a trauma,
You are surrounding it with the love that you hold as you release some of that fear.
You can pause this recording if you'd like to take your time now journeying through more experiences and also visiting some of those wonderful experiences that you want to feel in your being once again to help elevate the beauty of your inner child,
Of your playfulness,
Of your creativity.
And if this feels like enough work for today,
I'd like for you to silently and presently take some deep breaths.
And as you are breathing,
Just being aware,
Being aware of how you feel in this moment.
This work can be hard,
But it can also be really beautiful as you begin to accept and honor every part of you,
Every piece of you to allow you to live more fully in this moment.
As we all have beautiful love and light within us,
We also have darkness and pain,
As that's part of the human experience.
And through this practice,
You can begin to hold space for that darkness and that pain.
Not be ashamed or afraid of it,
Not push it away in a box in the back of the closet,
But create some sacred space,
Wrapping it in love as it is deserving,
As you are deserving.
Grounding yourself as you connect to the energy of Mother Earth,
Mother Earth.
She is that all-powerful energy.
Just as your mother held you in the womb,
Mother Earth is holding you in her womb at this time,
Always holding space for you in whatever you need,
Supporting you and allowing you to feel safe as you connect to her beautiful energy.
And she envelops you in her energy and her warmth.
Thank you for doing this work for yourself,
Because as you allow yourself to shine more brightly,
You bring more light and more love to all beings of the planet.
