Hello,

I'm Diana,

And I want to welcome you to this meditation,

Peace After the Storm.

This meditation is for those who have walked through storms of pain and struggle,

And who long to rest in a sense of peace.

Take this journey at your own pace.

You're always in control.

If at any time it feels too much,

You can pause,

Open your eyes,

And return when you're ready.

And now I'd like to invite you to take a moment to find a comfortable position.

You might be sitting,

Lying down,

Or resting in whatever feels most supportive for your body at this moment.

Allow your eyes to softly close when that feels safe,

Or otherwise lower your gaze.

Gently notice your breath,

Just as it is.

There's no need to change it.

With each exhale,

Imagine you're laying down a small piece of the weight that you have been carrying all along.

Bring your awareness to the points where your body meets the surface beneath you.

Notice the steadiness of the ground holding you.

Perhaps whisper to yourself,

I am safe in this moment.

Feel your breath flowing in and out like gentle waves.

If it place a hand on your chest or your body as a reminder,

I am here.

I am alive.

I am safe.

And now,

In your mind's eye,

Imagine a landscape after a great storm.

The clouds are still heavy,

The ground is damp,

And the air carries the echo of thunder.

You may sense broken branches,

Puddles,

Or winds still stirring.

This storm represents the hardships you've endured.

Acknowledge them without needing to relive them.

Simply notice,

Yes,

The storm has passed through here.

And now slowly imagine the storm clouds parting.

Soft rays of light begin to shine through the sky.

The air becomes still,

Fresh and gentle.

You may hear a sound of birds returning,

Cautious but steady.

You may also notice tiny drops of water sparkling on the leaves like jewels of resilience.

Take a slow breath in,

Inhaling this freshness,

This quiet after chaos.

And as you exhale,

Allow yourself to release the tension that no longer serves you.

As you rest in this scene,

Notice how peace doesn't erase the storm,

But it does follow it.

Peace is here,

Waiting,

Rising from the stillness.

Allow yourself to gently say,

In your mind or out loud if you wish to do so,

I have weathered storms and I am still here.

Peace belongs to me.

I am worthy of calm,

Rest and healing.

Breathe these words in as truths,

Letting them settle into your body like soft light.

I have weathered storms and I am still here.

Peace belongs to me.

I am worthy of calm,

Rest and healing.

I have weathered storms and I am still here.

Peace belongs to me.

I am worthy of calm,

Rest and healing.

I have weathered storms and I am still here.

Peace belongs to me.

I am worthy of calm,

Rest and healing.

I have weathered storms and I am still here.

Peace belongs to me.

I am worthy of calm,

Rest and healing.

Imagine yourself sitting or standing in this calm landscape,

Feeling the sunlight touch your skin and the earth steady beneath you.

Notice that the storm has changed you,

But it has not destroyed you.

In this moment,

You carry both the wisdom of survival and the gift of peace.

Take three deep,

Slow breaths as if you are breathing this peace into every cell of your body.

Breathe in,

Hold for a second to feel the peace moving to every cell of your body and breathe out.

Again,

Breathe in and feel the peace all over.

And one last time,

Breathe in and sense the peace spreading its sensation all over you and breathe out.

When you are ready,

Begin to bring awareness back to your physical surroundings.

Notice the surface beneath you.

Notice the room that you are in.

Gently move your fingers a little and wiggle your toes a bit.

And when you feel ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Bringing this sense of peace with you into the rest of your day.

And remember,

Even after the fiercest of storms,

Peace does return.
