Hello,

This is davidji and welcome to today's meditation.

Let's find a comfortable space to sit or lie down.

And let's look around at all that surrounds us,

All we're grateful for.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Allow your eyelids to float closed.

And gently follow your breath in and out.

In many eastern philosophies,

There's a term for purpose in life,

Known as dharma,

Or dhamma.

The word dharma comes from the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit,

And literally means pillar,

That which upholds.

So in a sense,

When we look for purpose and meaning in our lives,

We're seeking the pillar that will uphold everything in our existence,

The foundation from which all actions will flow.

According to these ancient teachings,

Every being on the planet has a unique gift or a special talent that creates his or her path of purpose.

This talent of ours,

This gift of ours,

Allows us to touch others or heal others or help others or serve others.

You've probably had a few different types of jobs in your life,

Or roles,

Or incarnations of your current position,

And ideally,

You love what you do.

Maybe you genuinely like the people you work with,

Or have a true passion for some aspect of the work.

And maybe you aren't really sure.

So how do you figure out what's your dharma?

How can we tell if we're in our dharma?

How can we find out what our purpose really is?

We can begin this journey to a purpose-driven life by asking ourselves a few questions and just allowing the answers to bubble up during this meditation and throughout our day.

So let's settle in.

Let's allow our shoulders to soften.

You may want to take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Sigh.

And feel your body start to relax.

Feel your mind start to calm.

And let's ask ourselves,

What do I love to do?

What am I passionate about?

And next ask,

What is it that while I'm doing it,

Time seems to stand still?

And next let's ask,

What was I doing the last time I felt joyful,

Deeply fulfilled,

And in the zone?

Next,

What are my unique abilities and my distinctive talents?

What do I do better than anyone else?

And lastly,

How can I help others using what I'm good at?

The answers that unfold for you are the starting point in discovering your true purpose in life.

Ask yourself these questions throughout the course of the day,

Not to drive yourself crazy,

But to invoke the process,

Identify your unique abilities,

Pinpointing the one thing that you're passionate about.

Continue to ask yourself,

What do I love to do?

What cause am I zealous about?

What puts you in that zone?

And when you break it down into those basic components,

It's a lot more digestible and easier to move forward.

Remember your Dharma today doesn't have to be your job.

It could be your habit or a hobby or something that you simply love to do.

So continue to ask these questions and let life unfold the answers for you.

As you begin to gain clarity on what it is you love to do,

All answers will unfold for you.

But the deepest answers come from us spending a little time in stillness and silence.

So let's take it deeper and let's go into stillness and silence together.

We'll use the mantra,

Om dharma ananda.

Om dharma ananda.

Om dharma ananda.

Om dharma ananda.

And through our Dharma,

We will awaken our bliss.

Through discovering our purpose,

A blissful life will unfold.

As you repeat the mantra,

Om dharma ananda,

You will drift away to thoughts or sounds or physical sensations.

This is perfect.

This means you're alive.

And whenever you realize that you've drifted away from om dharma ananda,

Ever so gently,

Drift back to the mantra.

I'll watch the time,

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just sit gently with your eyes closed.

So let's begin.

When you hear me ring the chime,

Just sit gently with your eyes closed.

When you hear me ring the chime,

Just sit gently with your eyes closed.

Ananda.

Sit gently with your eyes closed and let the stillness and silence settle in.

Ananda.

And now take a long slow deep breath in.

And gently let that go.

Let's do that one more time,

Long slow deep breath in.

And gently release.

And now let's seal this beautiful Dharmic exploration.

Let's seal our intentions.

Let's seal and celebrate our questions.

Let's seal and celebrate our questions and let's herald the answers as they unfold in our daily life.

By chanting the hymn of the universe Aum.

Take a long slow deep breath in.

And when it feels comfortable you can slowly open your eyes.

You can look around at those who you share this collective consciousness with.

Your fellow Dharma seekers.

And as you continue to use this meditation clarity will unfold.

Situations will open up for you and opportunities will present themselves.

This expansion will occur naturally.

So keep meditating.

Keep asking the questions.

And keep leaning in the direction of your dreams.

From the sweet spot of the universe this is davidji.

Wishing you an amazing day,

An amazing week and a life filled with Dharma.

Namaste and I'll see you in the gap.
