Hello,
And welcome to Day 12 of Insight Timer's Building Healthy Habits Challenge.
Let's take a moment to get settled.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale out.
Let's dive into today's healthy habit.
Hello and welcome to the Building Healthy Habits Challenge here on Insight Timer.
My name is David Gee,
And it is such a joy and an honor for me to be part of a challenge that is so multi-dimensional and has such an array of nourishing best practices.
I believe that we transform the world by transforming ourselves,
So thank you for showing up and committing to your best version.
Today I will be sharing one of my healthy habits,
Healing through the chakras.
It's an easy and powerful practice,
And just spending a bit of time here together will help you bring a bit more balance into your life,
Unblock some stuck energy,
And heal some wounds in the process.
In the ancient wisdom traditions,
The sacred powers of transformation were located in seven distinct energy centers located in the physical body.
Starting at the tip of your tailbone,
Moving up to just a little bit below your navel,
To the solar plexus,
The heart,
The throat,
The third eye,
And the crown of your head.
In India,
Referred to these energy centers as chakras,
Translated as turnings or wheels.
And it was believed that these seven wheels of energy were the junction points between our physical,
Mental,
And spiritual worlds,
Such that all the energy of the universe converged at seven vortexes within the human body.
Modern acupuncture and acupressure practitioners use these meridians as healing points,
And according to the ancient wisdom traditions,
These energetic convergences are gateways,
Connecting us to the physical world we live in and to the unknown world beyond us.
Powerful focal points for the reception and transmission of Shakti energy.
So what's Shakti?
Shakti is believed to be the most powerful expression of divine feminine energy.
Shakti is pure,
Ecstatic,
Creative,
Authentic,
Nourishing,
Healing,
Restorative,
Life affirming,
And transformational.
Shakti is the most powerful energy in the universe and vibrates at the highest frequency.
The sacred power of Shakti inherently carries with it the ability to turn intangible thoughts,
Wishes,
Dreams,
And desires into tangible outcomes.
Mind into matter.
Shakti is that potent spark that transforms thoughts into things.
It's the actionable process of manifestation.
So there's Shakti,
The most potent life force in existence,
And there are the chakras,
These seven junction points which house our relationships,
Our creativity,
Our passion,
Our ability to receive and give love,
Our voice,
Our choices,
Our purpose,
Our connection to self,
And our connection to source.
All converging at these seven points.
And since these are the energetic junction points of all of our existence,
They can be blocked,
Constricted,
Or wide open.
If we're not nourishing ourselves in any way,
They sort of get congested.
If we're having a tough time,
If we're not feeling well,
If we're tired,
If we haven't slept well,
If we're overwhelmed,
They're going to be challenged.
Sort of like a toll booth on a highway.
Sometimes we have to sit in a line of cars to pay our toll,
Which can take a really long time.
And sometimes there's a scanner on the toll booth that allows you to fly right through.
And so that's what we're going to do today.
Remove the blockages,
Eliminate the congestion,
And open wide our seven junction points so that pure Shakti energy can flow through us effortlessly,
Balancing,
Healing,
And transforming every aspect of our life.
This is potent self-care.
So are you ready?
Let's settle in.
Let's ever so gently feather our nest.
Remember that comfort is queen.
Get as comfortable as you'd like,
Either seated or lying down.
All right,
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in with me.
And ever so gently let that go.
Let's do that one more time.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and allow your eyelids to gently float closed.
And release that breath.
And now drift your attention to the very tip of your tailbone.
There's a pinpoint of red light in that space.
This is your connection to the earth.
In fact,
This is the chakra of connection.
In Sanskrit,
It's referred to as the muladhara.
This is all of our connections in our life.
Our connection to family,
Our connection to ourself,
Our connection to community,
Our connection to the earth.
And so when this is blocked,
You can be a little hermited.
You can be keeping yourself at a distance from all those connections,
But we can effortlessly awaken all those connections all over again to let the Shakti energy truly flow into you through the tip of your tailbone.
There's a vibration for this chakra.
The vibration is lam,
Lam.
And if you can envision a red pinpoint of light and breathe in something you need to be connected to,
Invite that into that space.
What do you need?
Someone,
Something that you need to be connected to.
Invite that in as we inhale and as we exhale,
We will chant lam together long and loud.
Long slow deep breath in,
Invite that in.
Lam.
Feel that energy awaken.
Now drift your attention to a space just a couple of inches below your navel and see an orange pinpoint of light in that space.
The element associated with this space,
The Svarishtana is water,
The healing element of water,
So fluid.
And this chakra is the chakra of creativity.
What new beginning or new path or new direction in your life needs to be acknowledged right now?
Feel free to place your fingertips on that space just an inch or two below your navel and take a long slow deep breath in and invite that new beginning,
That new path,
That new direction.
And the vibration is vam.
As we inhale,
We will invite in this new pathway of our life.
And as we exhale,
We will chant the vibration vam together.
Take a long slow deep breath into that space.
And now drift your attention to your solar plexus.
Feel free to place your fingertips on that space,
Your diaphragm.
This is essentially your fire center.
This is known as the Manipura,
Translated as the city of jewels.
And the color is yellow.
And this is all about transformation.
And so whatever you have not been following through on,
Other excuses you've been making,
This is the opportunity to transcend the excuses and truly move into your power center,
Your transformation,
To lock it down and get it done.
The vibration is ram.
So invite the step you need to take right now to lean harder into your next phase of your life,
Into your transformation.
As you breathe in,
Invite that step into your Manipura chakra.
And as we exhale together,
We'll chant ram,
Long slow deep breath in.
Ram.
And feel that Shakti energy awakening,
Helping you to connect,
Create and transform.
And now drift up to your heart and feel free to place your fingertips on that space and see a green pinpoint of light.
The element associated with your heart is air.
And as you rest your fingertips or your hands or your palms on your heart,
Feel that sweet tender heart of yours and ask it,
What does my heart need right now?
Where could I use more self kindness,
Self compassion,
Self forgiveness,
Self love?
See that green pinpoint of light and we're going to expand it as we breathe into it,
Inviting what we need right now.
And as we exhale,
We'll chant the vibration,
Yam,
Which is the vibration of the Anahata,
The heart chakra,
Long slow deep breath into that space.
And now drift your attention up to your throat chakra.
This is the Vishuddha chakra.
And there's a pinpoint of blue light there and this is the space of expression.
It's also the space of permission.
When this chakra is blocked,
We're playing small.
We're holding back,
We're walking on eggshells,
We're biting our tongue.
We're allowing ourselves to be invisible.
But when we awaken this space and clear out that congestion,
We give ourselves permission to express,
To be seen,
To speak.
The color is blue and see that pinpoint of blue light,
The vibration is hum.
And so let's invite permission into our throat to be seen,
To speak,
To let our voice be heard as we chant hum together,
Long slow deep breath in.
And now drift your attention and your fingertips up to that space between your eyebrows,
Maybe an inch up.
This is your third eye,
Your Aishna chakra.
This is your trust center.
This is your vision center.
We have two eyes looking out and one divine eye looking in.
When we're making decisions out of fear or desperation,
Then this chakra is blocked.
And when we open it up,
It gives us permission to slide over into the passenger seat and let the universe do the driving.
We can make more divinely guided choices rather than choices out of fear or desperation.
The vibration is sham and see that pinpoint of purple light just resting at your third eye and we'll breathe into it and invite trust into our decision-making process.
Long slow deep breath in and chant sham with me as we exhale.
Sham.
And now drift your attention to the very tip top of your head,
The crown chakra.
This is the Sahaswara,
The thousand-pedaled lotus.
And when we awaken and open this chakra,
That energy flows into us through our root,
Into our second chakra,
Into our solar plexus,
Into our heart,
Through our throat,
Through our third eye and out of the top of our head,
Aligning all of our needs,
Allowing all of our capacities to expand effortlessly,
Lovingly,
Nourishingly.
And this is how we manifest.
The vibration here is om and the color is beyond color.
It's ultraviolet.
And so let's awaken this.
We'll breathe into the very crown of our head.
We'll chant om together one time and then just allow the energy to flow through you,
Manifesting all those different aspects that you invited into yourself.
Take a long slow deep breath in with me and let's chant om.
And now just allow,
Allow the energy to come into your root chakra and silently repeat,
I connect,
Feel that energy now move into your second chakra and awaken it and silently repeat,
I create.
Feel the energy move into your solar plexus chakra,
To the center of your being and silently repeat,
I transform.
Feel the energy move into your heart chakra,
Your sweet tender heart and repeat,
I love.
Feel the energy move from there to your throat and repeat with me.
I speak and then feel that energy come into your third eye,
Just moving through you,
Building up and repeat with me,
I trust.
And then drift your attention to your crown chakra where the energy is pouring out of you and silently repeat with me,
I am.
And feel the energy flow through you,
Feel your deepest connection to source,
To manifesting your dreams and desires,
Simply allow and just stay in this space and let that shock de-run.
Now take a long slow deep breath in with me and ever so gently let that go.
Let's do that one more time,
Long slow deep breath in and gently release.
And when it feels comfortable,
Ever so gently feel free to connect your fingertips to that space that really needed the most opening and just give it a little hug or a little massage,
Just a little acknowledgement.
You can use this practice every day,
I do.
Sometimes I take a really long time and sometimes I do it very very quickly just to make sure everything is wide open and I can flow through life with greater grace and greater ease.
I'm so grateful that you joined me today,
So grateful that you've taken the time to join the Building Healthy Habits Challenge on Insight Timer.
I invite you in the discussion to share how did you find the practice?
Did anything come up for you?
What was the area that seemed to really open the most?
Did you feel some kind of release?
And please share so we can all move those concepts from the unmanifest into the manifest.
We transform the world by transforming ourselves and this is one way to do it.
Keep enjoying the challenge and remember self-care is not selfish.
From the Sweet Spot of the Universe,
This is davidji and I'll see you in the gap.
