Awakening forgiveness should be a gentle process, especially when emotions are high. Remind yourself that LOVE is the most powerful healing force in the universe. It begins with examining ourselves, our actions, our words, and our physical body. Only then, once weโ€™ve identified the need to forgive ourselves, that we can forgive others. We are all, in fact, human.

Hello,

This is David G and welcome to today's meditation.

Let's find a comfortable space.

And for this meditation,

We need to be gentle with ourselves.

So gently sit down or lie down.

Gently close your eyes and together let's take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And again gently let's release that.

And as you follow your breath in and out,

Remind yourself that love is the most powerful healing force in the universe.

And now in your mind's eye,

Feel yourself walking along on a path.

What does that path look like to you?

Is it winding?

Is it straight?

Is it up a hill or down a hill?

Is it in the forest?

Is it in a field?

Is it along a body of water?

Just feel yourself gently,

Happily,

Calmly just walking along this path.

And as you continue to walk along the path,

Just look around you and drink in your surroundings.

Take in all the plant life,

All the animal life,

The sky,

The clouds,

The sun,

Or perhaps it's raining.

What does that look like to you?

How does that feel to you?

How does the sun on your face or the mist on your body feel?

And now in your mind's eye,

Gently sit down comfortably right in the middle of the path,

Which extends in front of you as far as the eye can see and behind you as well.

And ask yourself right now,

Is there any harm that I have inflicted upon someone else?

Have I betrayed someone?

Have I caused them pain?

Is there any harm,

Any action I took with my words,

With my thoughts,

Or with my physical body that hurt them,

That I am still carrying with me?

Right now feel what you still carry.

Feel the sorrows within you that you still carry.

And you may be attached to this pain.

You may be holding on to this experience in a physical place in your body.

And go there now,

Where in your body can you feel that pain?

The pain of hurt that you inflicted on another being.

Is it in your throat,

Your chest,

Your solar plexus,

Your belly,

Another part of your body,

Your hips,

Your pelvis,

Your temples?

Go to that pain right now and feel it.

And give it a name.

It doesn't have to be the name of a person,

But it can be.

Maybe it's the name of the action or the experience,

But name it.

And now place your fingers ever so gently on that space.

Envision that person in your mind's eye.

Envision that being.

And whisper,

I want to be forgiven.

Out of my own anger or hurt or constriction or misunderstanding,

I know I created pain for you.

Out of my own fear,

Out of my own consciousness,

In that moment I created harm and hurt.

In this moment,

I ask you for forgiveness.

Please forgive me.

May I please be forgiven?

And right now,

Move your hand to your heart where this question is being asked from and allow your heart to receive the answer.

You may feel emotional.

You may feel tears or regret.

However you're metabolizing this moment,

Allow your heart to receive the forgiveness.

Deep inside you know that if you had it to do over again,

You wouldn't.

If the opportunity appeared again,

You would choose another path,

Either with your words,

Your thoughts or your actions.

And since you are trying your best,

Doing your best from your own level of consciousness at the time.

And since you are committed to doing something different,

To being more enlightened,

Aware with the wisdom you have now,

Allow your heart to receive some forgiveness right now.

Let's breathe deeply into our heart and feel it swell with forgiveness,

With love,

And let that go.

As you look around yourself sitting on this path,

Notice that you're surrounded by all the things you love,

All the things that matter to you,

All the things you care about.

This is your sacred place.

This is your inner sanctuary.

You are fully safe here.

Allow forgiveness to build with each inhalation.

Let's breathe in and feel that forgiveness.

And as we exhale,

Let's let go of some of the pain and sorrow that we have in our heart.

And let's do that for a few moments here.

Breathe in forgiveness and release some sorrow.

Breathe in unconditional forgiveness and release some pain.

Breathe in forgiveness,

Feel it move into all the cells in your body,

And let go of some of the hurt.

And allow your inner sanctuary,

Allow your sacred place to reflect love back at you as you look in every direction around you.

Love is being mirrored back to you.

Pure,

Whole,

Sweet,

Forgiving love which you are so entitled to receive,

So worthy of receiving.

And to allow your face to express what it feels like to be forgiven,

To be whole,

To be loved in this moment unconditionally.

And you are doing your best from your highest level of consciousness at the time.

And you yearn to be free.

You have the power right now to release some of this pain that has been following you around.

See your hand loosening just a little bit on that cord that connects you to this being that you hurt.

And say again to yourself,

I want to be forgiven.

In this moment I ask for your forgiveness.

May I please be forgiven.

And again feel your heart,

It's your heart that's asking the question.

And allow your heart to receive the answer.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

If I had it to do again I would choose a different path.

Faced with this opportunity to express myself,

I would express myself physically,

Emotionally,

And spiritually at a higher level.

And allowing the love of the universe to wash into your heart,

Let's use the mantra Anandam.

Anandam.

Anandam.

Bliss.

Bliss.

Bliss.

We'll repeat this mantra over and over,

Silently to ourselves.

And over the course of this meditation in silence,

You may have thoughts,

You may be focused on a mood,

A feeling,

Or an emotion,

When you realize you're not repeating Anandam.

Gently drift back to the mantra.

I'll watch the time.

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just gently,

With your eyes closed.

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just gently,

With your eyes closed.

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just gently,

With your eyes closed.

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just gently,

With your eyes closed.

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just gently,

With your eyes closed.

And when you hear me ring the chime,

Just gently,

With your eyes closed.

Anandam.

I am bliss.

And now gently follow your breath in and out.

Feel your lightness of being.

Feel the fact that the universe has forgiven you.

And now that you would make a more conscious choice,

You can forgive yourself.

Allow whatever self anger,

Self hatred,

Self disappointment,

Self misery to dissipate in this moment as we breathe in.

Feel your heart's darkness being washed away.

Just keep breathing.

And keep releasing.

Your heart has never been lighter than it is right now.

Let's celebrate that by chanting Om,

The hymn of the universe.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And let it go.

Do that one more time.

And gently release.

And let's Om together,

Take a deep breath in.

And when it feels comfortable,

You can slowly open your eyes.

Feel the forgiveness of the universe.

Feel the forgiveness of yourself forgiving yourself.

And allow yourself to loosen your grip on your attachment to your action.

Be gentle with yourself today.

From the sweet spot of the universe,

This is David G.
