This is the perfect meditation between what was just going on and what's going to happen next.
So let's settle in.
Let's get comfortable.
Remember comfort is queen,
And together let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in right here.
And ever so gently,
Let that go.
Let's do that one more time,
And allow our eyelids to ever so gently float closed.
And release that breath,
And in this moment,
Drift your attention to your upper eyelids resting so softly on your lower eyelids.
Feel that soft,
Tender connection,
And just allow those lids to rest against each other.
And drift your attention to your breathing as you breathe in and out.
Simply notice it as it flows in,
And notice it as it flows back out.
There's nowhere else to be.
There's nothing else to do except to be right here,
Right now,
In this sacred,
Precious,
Present moment.
It feels pretty good right now,
Just to be present.
So let's drift our attention to our heart,
And feel free to rest your hands on your heart if that feels comfortable.
And join me in taking a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in right now into your heart.
And release,
And let that go.
Let's do that one more time,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath into your heart,
And release it.
And as you breathe,
Notice that there are a few things happening that we can rest our attention on.
As you inhale through your nose,
You can feel that air coming into your nostrils,
Going down deep into you.
And as you exhale,
You can feel that breath,
Hear that breath,
Moving back out through your nostrils.
When you inhale,
You can notice your chest rises up.
And as you exhale,
Notice that it eases back down.
As you inhale,
Notice that your belly fills.
And as you exhale,
Notice that it empties.
Notice that there's a space between the in and the out,
Between the rise and the falling.
Between the filling and the emptying.
And this is your still point.
This is who you truly are.
This is your essence.
The space between.
The space between each breath.
The space between each beat of your heart.
The space between words and thoughts and actions.
This is that space where you are the calm amidst the chaos.
Where you are the stillness inside the storm.
You are the space between everything that comes into you and everything that goes out.
And now that you're aware of this space,
At the top of your next inhale,
See if you can lengthen that space just a beat before you flow back into your exhale.
You breathe in,
There's that space.
And then you lengthen it just a beat before flowing into the exhale.
Try it with me right now.
We're breathing in.
We lengthen the space just a beat.
And then we exhale.
Let's do that a few more times.
Breathing in.
Lengthen the space.

And one last time.
Breathing in.
Lengthen that space between.
And let it go.

And let that breath go.
