My name is Mayana Gathers and my gift is supporting the energy of healing and the energy of empowerment.
I am more formally known as a licensed marriage and family therapist.
In this guided meditation,
We will travel a path of embodiment to understand the tremendous gifts that we all possess.
Every day there is an opportunity to confront our doubts,
Our questions,
And embrace our gifts.
We do this by becoming comfortable with being delighted about ourselves.
We tell ourselves,
I am proud of the person I am.
We remind ourselves of the process we are on by expressing gratitude and wonder.
Let us go on a journey to a safe and peaceful place so that we may access the rhythms of our gifts.
I invite you to get comfortable in your seat,
Arranging your body in a way that you can feel supported during our time together.
Feel free to lay down,
Sit up,
Or whatever feels good to your body.
As you find this comfortable position,
You may close your eyes.
We are tapping into our body and into ourselves right now.
And yes,
They are magical selves.
Let us focus on our breath.
First,
Just observing the flow of our breath,
Bringing attention into how this breath is coming into our bodies,
Noticing the depth of the breath,
The pace of the breath.
Allow yourself to sit in this moment with your breath,
Taking the time to be fully present with yourself.
Just observing,
Not judging,
Not shifting,
But being.
Being with you,
The magnificent being that you are.
Telling yourself,
I see you.
I see all that you do.
All that you are.
You are amazing.
And if contrary thoughts pop up,
Send them love.
They are reminders that you are growing,
That you are healing,
That you have come so far already.
Now,
Let's deepen that breath.
Let's create intention about a space of grounding,
Of bringing yourself replenishment,
Of centering you into this moment.
Slowly bring your breath through your nose until you have reached a crescendo,
And then slowly exhale through your mouth,
Holding your attention to the pace of your breath and allowing all of the breath to be released.
These breaths can be cleansing.
Repeat this deepening,
Feeling the power of the inhale,
The beauty of filling your body with oxygen and the strength of the exhale.
The energy of cycling.
The grace with which your body supports you.
Continue to deepen your breath,
Moving at your own pace.
Now,
Imagine that you are sitting on a beach.
The sand is warm and you shift your toes through the small grains.
The different hues of brown,
Gold,
And orange sparkle in the sun.
One by one,
They slowly sift through the gaps in between your toes.
A few of the small pebbles remain on your feet as you continue to allow the warmth of this sand to move over you.
The breeze in the air is soft and sweet as it swirls around you.
Wispy clouds dot the sky,
Primed and ready for your imagination to shape.
The waves slowly lap the edge of the sand,
Creating the sound that only the ocean creates.
At once,
Powerful and relaxing.
As you stare out into the distance,
You can see the white peaks of the waves as they tumble into each other,
Moving along on their journey to the shore.
Past the peaks of the waves,
The horizon stretches out as if it goes on forever,
Stretching past your own vision,
Moving into your intuition of what lies beyond.
You notice the shells peeking through the sand,
The miniature homes to the animals that live amongst the saltwater.
They are reminiscent of what they were and what they still may become.
A tall grass spreads out behind you,
Weaving its way through the dunes of this beach,
Swaying slightly in the wind,
Almost as if it is creating a cocoon for you,
A protective shield.
With you nestled here on this beautiful beach.
As you rake your hand slowly through the sand,
You can hear the intermittent call of the gulls in the distance,
Mixing with the sound of the waves,
Creating a quiet symphony.
As you take in a deep breath,
The saltiness of the sea hangs in the air,
Gently weaving its zestiness with the sweet smell of the grass,
The breeze swirling the sweet and tangy smells around you into a tapestry that holds you in this moment.
As you sit here,
You recognize this place as a space for peace.
You can feel the peace start to move through your body,
Starting at your feet that are still nestled in the warm sand,
Up through your legs,
Through your core,
Into your arms,
Shoulders and head.
As this peace moves through you,
You are filled with the knowing that you are safe in this place.
In this safe and peaceful space,
You sit with yourself.
It is an opportunity to reflect on self,
All of yourself.
The pieces that sometimes don't see the light of day,
And the pieces that shine brightly.
It is not uncommon for doubt to creep in when we hold space to be with ourselves.
So let us take a moment for this natural feeling.
Doubt is a normal part of the human process,
And our life experiences can introduce challenging narratives of lacking the worth or the ability to be our most authentic selves.
In this space,
Let us breathe into these moments of doubt,
Acknowledging them with empathy.
Just because they exist does not mean they need to be our blueprint to how we live.
We have the ability to move into a space of observation of the doubts,
Recognizing where they come from,
But not getting stuck there.
Rather,
Continuously moving in rhythm with our gifts.
The rhythm of our gifts are sheer beauty,
And when we sit with ourselves,
We are also able to feel that rhythm.
Take a moment now to feel the frequency of your gift.
Do you hear it?
Do you feel it?
Allow it to vibrate all around you,
From energy that surrounds you to the soul that resides inside of you.
Embrace these vibrations and the energy that they bring with them.
Sit in the resonance.
Feel the potency of your gifts.
Embracing our gifts is a study in who we are,
Honoring the sacred within us and honoring our capability.
It creates space to shift the narratives we have about ourselves.
We can tell ourselves that we recognize our own gifts,
That we recognize our abilities,
That we recognize our magic.
If we are spending time feeding into our doubts,
Then we must also devote time to giving ourselves new messages of acceptance,
Comfort,
Understanding,
And love.
It is okay to claim all of ourselves,
To claim all the amazing pieces of ourselves,
As well as the pieces we hold judgment of.
You are amazing.
You are beautiful.
You are astounding.
Let us return to our breath,
Once again moving into a deep and cleansing breath.
We have been on a journey.
Our breath will anchor us in our reflections,
Our insights,
And our grounding.
Move the breath in through your nose.
Hold and release.
Again,
Let us move the breath in through your nose.
Hold and release.
In through your nose.
Hold and release.
Continue to breathe here for a moment.
And when you are ready,
