
Being in the Present Moment

I'm Dave Harding.
This is a guided meditation just for you to be in the present moment.
It's a relaxation guided meditation so please make sure you find yourself in a comfortable position.
Certainly not doing any activity that requires your full attention.
So it might help to begin just by closing your eyes.
Gently relaxing.
An easy way to begin to relax is to focus your attention on your breathing.
Just regular breathing.
So that as you breathe in you're taking in the air and oxygen that's available with every breath out.
And just simply letting go of any stress or tension that might be there.
You may begin to notice how each breath can be more relaxing than the breath before that.
Just each and every breath simply relaxing more and more.
Each and every breath.
At any time now or any time during the guided meditation feel free to take a big deep breath in followed by a big deep breath out.
For it's the big deep breaths that can be more relaxing than the regular breaths.
Just each breath allowing you to become more relaxed.
There's another type of breathing which can allow you to become even more relaxed.
And that's breathing deep down into the diaphragm.
That's where your tummy goes up and down as well as your chest as you breathe.
The next time you breathe deep into the diaphragm just breathing through your heart.
Notice the difference that makes.
For more relaxation,
A deeper relaxation.
Just all the breathing more relaxing.
Be aware of all the sounds inside outside.
The sounds of your heart beating,
The sounds of your breathing,
The sound of the music,
The sounds within the sounds of the music,
Certainly the sound of my voice,
The sounds outside,
The traffic,
With other people.
And just allow each sound to help you relax.
So that each sound is more relaxed.
Each breath more relaxed.
So you might find it easy to imagine that you're walking along your favourite beach.
The weather is just as you like it and each and every gradual step along the way you notice the warmth of the sand underneath your feet.
Approaching the water line you notice the waves gently rolling in,
Just slowly lapping the shoreline gradually one after the other.
You might notice the gentle breeze that's there.
Perhaps you can see the trees gently swaying,
The leaves rustling or maybe even just feel it on your skin ever so gently.
You glance out over the water and noticing the trail of sunlight that just shimmers and sparkles as it makes its way off into the distance.
Where perhaps there's a boat in full sail quietly bobbing up and down as it makes its way along.
You glance out to the horizon and begin to wonder what exists out there that can't even be seen yet.
What possibilities are there all the way beyond the horizon?
As you continue to make your way along you arrive at your favourite spot.
Perhaps your towel's there already or maybe you need to place one down.
And as you do you gently notice how each and every grain of sand just shifts to fit the contours of your body.
It's that nice,
Snug,
Comfortable fit and of course the warmth of the sand all the way down your back.
If there was any stress or tension there it just seems to melt into the sand.
Allowing you to feel safe,
Comfortable and so relaxed.
So relaxed that it's now time to leave your body and float up.
Just leaving your body behind,
Float up in the air higher and higher.
Just floating up higher still,
Higher and higher all the way up,
Popping through the clouds.
Just noticing those white fluffy clouds below.
The blue sky is all around and the sun is shining.
Just allow the air currents to take you off in whatever direction.
A bit like a feather just floating to and fro,
Back and forth in whatever direction the air currents want to take you.
Until you notice the light.
The light of your unconscious and begin floating towards the light.
When you get there now it's time to enter the light and allow the light to fill your very being.
Every atom,
Every cell,
Every molecule,
The quantum particles and all the spaces in between just filling with the light of your unconscious.
Knowing that in the light of your unconscious exists all truth,
All honesty,
All health,
Healing and well being for you exists in the light of your unconscious.
Where it's in the light of your unconscious it's time to think about just you,
Just now.
An easy way to think about just you and just now is to think about that breath you take just now.
For it's the only breath that matters.
That one that you have right now is the only breath that really matters.
And sure it's wise to respect and acknowledge all the breaths that have come before it.
All the breaths that have come before that have allowed you to take that breath that you take now.
And each and every heartbeat,
Just that heartbeat that you take now is the only one that matters.
It's the one that keeps you alive,
That keeps you going.
And again it's important to acknowledge and respect all the heartbeats that have come before it.
For it's all of those that have allowed you to take that one that you take now.
So all the ones from all the befores,
All the heartbeats,
All the breaths,
All the everythings have just allowed you to be in that heartbeat,
In that breath right now.
It's also wise to consider there may be breaths that come in the future after the one that you have now.
There may be heartbeats that come in the future after the one that you have now.
And it's a fine expectation to have but they're nowhere near as important as the heartbeat,
As the breath that you have now.
So just be thankful for that heartbeat,
That breath.
Which leads into the next heartbeat and the next breath.
But only once that heartbeat and once that breath is finished.
So be very thankful for that heartbeat and that breath that you have now.
Imagine bathing in the light,
Being the light,
Being at one with the light.
The light being at one with you.
You are the light,
The light is you.
The light is love,
You are love.
It's all you.
It's all that you are in that heartbeat and in that breath that you take now.
I hear people talking about decisions.
Decisions they make that can take minutes,
Hours,
Days,
Weeks,
Months,
Even years to make.
But ultimately decisions are made in a heartbeat.
That heartbeat that you take now,
You can make a decision in that heartbeat now that defines who you are in that heartbeat.
It's certainly mindful of all the heartbeats and all the decisions before it.
But it's nowhere near as important as the decision you can make in that heartbeat now.
It determines who you are now in that heartbeat and who you become as a result of that decision.
Sometimes it's as easy as just making another decision to change who you are in this new heartbeat you have now.
Decisions in a heartbeat that can determine who you are in that heartbeat now.
Decisions in a breath that can determine who you are in that breath now.
Mindful of all the decisions and all the breaths that have come before it.
But nowhere near as important as the one that you can make now that determines who you are now in this breath,
In this heartbeat.
And who you become as a result of that decision in this breath and this heartbeat.
Decisions of breathing.
Decisions of heartbeats.
Decisions of who you are in that breath.
Who you are in that heartbeat.
So now it's time to float back down,
Bobbing through the clouds and floating back into your being,
Just laying on the beach.
Just noticing how pure and fresh the air is.
How crystal clear the waters are.
The pristine beaches,
The flowers,
The shrubs,
The trees,
The bird life,
The wildlife,
The water life.
All of these things living together in harmony as Mother Nature intended.
So too has Mother Nature intended for you to live in harmony.
For I know when they report of earthquakes and floods and these things that they call natural disasters,
It's just an opportunity for Mother Nature to come back stronger,
Healthier,
Refreshed,
Revitalized and rejuvenated better than ever before.
But likewise,
Any personal natural disasters you may have been through is simply your opportunity to come back stronger,
Healthier,
Rejuvenated,
More revitalized than ever before.
For now as you contemplate looking over the horizon,
All those things that can't be seen yet,
All the possibilities that exist beyond the horizon,
What decision can you make in that heartbeat now?
What decision can you make in that breath now that decides who you are in that breath,
Who you are in that decision now and who you become as a result of it?
And the expectation there will be breaths,
There will be heartbeats in the future is a wise expectation to have.
But the only one that matters is the one you have now.
That breath now,
That heartbeat now,
That decision that you can make now about who you are now and who you become as a result of that decision.
A new you,
A better you.
So I'll leave you for a few moments just to contemplate some decisions and breaths and the heartbeats that you can take now.
So I'm going to count down from five to one and at one you'll be wide awake,
Feeling refreshed,
Revitalized,
Re-energized,
Possibly even feeling as though you've had an entire night's sleep.
Beginning at five,
All the relaxation leaving the body now.
Four,
Beginning to breathe deeper,
Noticing how you're feeling a little bit more refreshed,
Maybe even tingling.
Three,
Feeling more revitalized,
More re-energized,
Becoming into full awareness.
Two,
Clearing the lungs,
Clearing the throat,
Clearing the sinuses,
Clearer vision,
Clearer mind and one,
Coming all the way back,
Eyes opening,
Feeling refreshed,
Revitalized,
Re-energized,
Ready to embrace the day,
Each breath and each heartbeat.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Loved the beach visualization and the subtle “pop” humor picturing the consciousness in the clouds. Good music and sounds, good audio quality, and great message around the only heartbeat and breath that matter are the ones happening now. Namaste.
