There is so much unprocessed, unexpressed individual and collective female anger on the planet - let's face some of it! In this meditation, we look at the nature of anger and some of its different shades. We'll practice tools for running this emotion through our physical and energetic body so that we can deal with it more productively, learn what it has to teach us, and release a layer of it.

When was the last time you felt really angry?

Did you let yourself feel it and express it?

Did you distract yourself from it or did you suppress it?

Oh,

I can't express this,

It might scare people.

They might think I'm not nice.

We're gonna be working some anger energy today and we're gonna start by grounding ourselves.

So let's bring your awareness to the base of your spine and allow a grounding cord to form here between your root and the center of the planet and just give yourself permission to bring a lot of amusement into this grounding connection and that might show itself different ways to you.

It might just be a certain color of light that forms this connection.

It might be the form of the grounding cord itself.

Like maybe it's like a mermaid tail or a,

I don't know,

I'm getting an image of like a skunk tail.

It might be like a,

Sometimes I use a slinky as a grounding cord.

This is kind of like a fun energy.

It might be a cloud.

So just invite some amusement as you form this grounding cord so that you can release from this space and also maintain a little bit of that amusement to help you stay neutral as we work with the energy we're gonna look at today.

So you can let that grounding cord form,

Extend to the core of the earth,

Kind of connect in,

Plug in,

Get nice and wide and start to release anything you're ready to let go of from your physical body and from your aura.

While we're all grounding,

I wanna talk a little bit about unconsciousness in meditation.

If you've ever tried to sit in meditation and you find yourself kind of spacing out,

Getting distracted by other thoughts or thinking about the future,

Or if you start to do that,

Like falling,

A little bit falling asleep thing.

Like,

Where am I?

Oh,

I'm here in meditation.

That's really,

Really normal.

It doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.

Sometimes it's actually a defense mechanism.

It's like your body's way of protecting you,

Especially if you are releasing something that's very deep or a very old pain that you don't want your body to have to re-experience.

You kind of like pop out so that you can release it.

So yeah,

We're gonna be okay with unconsciousness today.

If it happens,

You can just kind of be like,

Oh,

I went somewhere else for a minute.

Let me come back.

Yeah,

Totally,

Totally okay.

So I'll invite you to just bring your awareness to just behind your eyes,

To the center of your head.

And you can kind of imagine that there's a throne in that space,

Right in the center of your head,

And you can occupy that throne.

We're gonna sit in this space,

In the center of our head for this practice.

And by doing this,

It'll help us to stay neutral to what anger,

Emotion,

And energy comes up.

And we're gonna try to stay in this space and look out at the energy.

So you can kind of settle in on your head throne here.

And with your third eye,

Look out in front of you with your eyes closed.

And you can kind of picture like a body map out in front of you.

It can be like a silhouette of your body,

Almost like you're looking in a mirror,

But you can put it out maybe eight to 10 feet in front of you.

There's some space between you and it.

Just kind of notice,

What does that body look like?

I wanna talk a bit about emotions.

Emotions,

Also known as energy in motion.

Emotions are a message to our body.

They kind of originate in the second chakra in the lower belly space.

And they tell us something.

And they're meant to move through us.

They're meant to move through each energy center or chakra and send a message of what this motion is teaching us.

And then move all the way up to the top of our head and out of our body.

And when emotions get stuck or we don't allow that movement,

It can cause physical pain or other weird things to happen that are just a sign of us being stuck in a certain attitude.

And when we think about anger,

Especially being in a female body,

Anger is an emotion that we don't always learn how to deal with in a healthy way as women.

We kind of,

A lot of us learn to suppress our anger or to express it in unhealthy or kind of roundabout weird ways.

To swallow your words and just kind of hold that anger in.

If you're the kind of person like me who clenches your jaw when you sleep and grinds your teeth,

Possibly I have unexpressed anger.

Who knows?

It's a possibility.

I would bet on it.

Or if you know anyone who acts in like passive aggressive ways or says they're not angry,

But then they'll kind of do something that feels like,

Oh,

They are angry.

They're just expressing it through resentment or through silent treatment or things like that.

And another way to think of emotions that I found helpful is that kind of the message that we tell ourselves.

So we can have our emotions,

But we don't need to become them.

So I can have anger,

But I don't need to be angry.

And just that change of phrasing can help create some distance.

And so that's what we're doing here by being in the center of our head,

By looking out at ourselves,

The little body map of ourselves.

We're creating some separation between us and the emotion that we're experiencing today.

So let's dive into our anger.

And there are different shades and levels of anger.

So we're gonna start with a nice light,

Easy one.

Let's start with just some annoyance,

Frustration,

Resentment,

Just some,

You know,

That annoying,

Like,

Oh,

This is so annoying.

Start with that.

And so just from your center of head,

Just kind of say hello to that feeling in your lower belly,

The sacral chakra,

And just look at it in that body map in front of you in your kind of mind's eye mirror of yourself.

When you say hello to that energy in that space,

What color does it have?

Does it bring to mind a memory of something that happened today or this week?

Maybe it brings to mind a person who annoyed you.

You can just look at that color and watch that color move from your lower belly to your solar plexus,

Kind of up to the middle of your belly,

And then let it move up to the center of your chest,

Your heart chakra,

And then watch it flow up to your throat chakra,

And then run it up through your head to the center of your forehead,

Your third eye chakra,

And then watch that color move up to the crown of your head and flow all the way up and out the top of your head,

Kind of like a whale spout,

Like spouting water out,

And it just kind of exits out the top and does this whale spout motion and leaves your space,

And watch that flow of this color continue to move up that circuit.

Notice what this looks like and what it feels like.

Maybe you feel something sensory in the body as you do this.

Maybe you even feel it.

You can run it down your arm channels as well.

You can run it throughout your whole body and then watch it just leave from the top of your head.

Anger is actually one of the emotions that moves pretty quickly through,

Like energetically.

So if you've ever been really angry,

But then you kind of give it some time,

It actually moves pretty quickly.

So let that annoyance,

Frustration,

Color of anger kind of finish circulating through that cycle.

Now we're gonna get a little deeper into anger,

And let's just deal with true anger,

Like something that makes you just mad,

Something that really pisses you off,

And say hello,

Stay in the center of your head,

Stay as neutral as you can,

And just say hello to that angry,

Mad,

Pissed off energy in,

Again,

In your lower belly,

In the sacral chakra.

And notice this more intense form of anger.

What color does this have?

Does this energy have a texture?

Is it kind of flowy?

Is it really solid?

Is it like fire or water?

You can sense that texture and that color.

And let this color move again.

Gonna watch it move up to your solar plexus,

Your third chakra.

What is this anger?

What is the message it's sending about what you want to do?

The third chakra is our power center.

It deals with what we wanna create and build for ourselves and the world.

So let it send a message to that space.

What do I feel called to do about this?

Now you can run that color up to your heart space.

What is this anger telling me about what I love,

About my boundaries,

About what I wanna protect?

And let that color move up to your throat chakra.

How do I wanna express this anger?

What's true about it for me?

What have I not been able to say?

You feel yourself kind of getting pulled into it.

You can just bring your awareness back to the center of your head.

Look at your body map,

Kind of like it's on a movie screen in front of you and watch that color move up to your third eye chakra,

The seat of our awareness and our sight,

Our psychic sight.

What is this anger showing me about the world?

Is it blocking me from seeing clearly?

Let that color move up and flow up to your crown,

Whale spouting out of the top of your head.

How is this anger teaching me to be more myself?

What does it tell me about my purpose?

You can use your breath to continue that flow of energy all the way up the vertical line of your body.

I was looking at the energy of anger recently.

It was very interesting because I realized a lot of it was teaching me about my values.

It was sending me a message that something I value is being challenged or threatened.

And that was the signal,

Anger.

And so that helped me realize I can focus less on who and what makes me angry and more on what is the value that this is about?

What's the thing that's really important to me that this is challenging and how do I fortify that?

We're gonna go even deeper.

So say hello from the center of your head to the feeling of rage.

What's the angriest you've ever been?

What's something that creates fury in you?

And you might not even be able to name it.

As people in female bodies,

We have a lot of collective rage and anger.

It's not necessarily just ours.

It's deep-rooted in the history of the earth and of women on earth.

It's passed down through the generations of our family line and it lives in our body.

And so some of the rage and fury you might be tapping into might be this collective anger,

A lot of which is coming to the surface.

These days,

And it's good because it needs to.

So just notice,

Do you have permission to feel this?

Have you held some of this back in the past?

This is a space that can handle it.

So let yourself have it all and see what color it shows you,

See what texture it has.

How big is it in your space?

And let it move.

How fast is it moving?

Let it move from your lower belly to your solar plexus,

Up to the center of your chest,

Up to your throat and neck.

Let it move down your arms.

And at this point,

If you want to move your arms,

If you want to stand,

If you want to move your body physically to move some of this energy,

Do it by all means.

Let it run up to your third eye or center of your forehead and out through your crown and let that rage fricking move.

If you want to vocalize,

If you want to scream into a pillow,

You want to wave your arms,

Movement really helps us process strong emotions and the voice helps us process strong emotions.

You're all doing great.

There's a lot of energy moving.

There's a lot that we're releasing.

You can come back.

If you're getting a little bit sucked into it,

You can come back to the center of your head and notice you can hold this in your space and you can be neutral to it.

You can feel it and you can be aware of it.

And you might notice that some of this rage isn't even yours or some of it you've been holding onto for a really long time.

So let it move,

Let it watch it move out of your space,

Almost like a cloud of smoke that's rising,

Rising and the wind is blowing it away.

And allow yourself to come back and find some stillness.

Check in with your grounded chord of amusement.

It's helping you release a lot of old stuck energy connected to this anger.

And so just sense and sink into that connection that's still there and use your breath to deepen that to bring yourself fully into your body.

And you can intend,

Sense or feel a nice big gold sun forming really easily above the crown of your head.

Let that gold sun fill in with a lot of permission to have your own energy,

Your own awareness,

Your own connection with your higher self and let it grow bigger and bigger,

Bigger than your body,

Bigger than the room you're in.

Nice,

Bright gold,

Nice healing energy.

And you can pop that gold sun and you can watch it fill in your body.

Watch it fill in from the deepest parts of your body all the way to the surface of your skin and really sense it filling in that whole vertical line of the body from the bottom to the top that we were just running our energy through.

And when you're ready,

You can kind of move,

Give yourself some wiggles and open your eyes.
