Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius and today's meditation is a bit different.
Today's meditation is dedicated to anyone who has experienced loss.
It could be the end of a relationship,
The passing of someone you love,
Or maybe even the conclusion of a chapter in your life.
It could be recent,
It could be many years ago.
My belief is the point of meditation and all this personal work is not to feel better but to get better at feeling.
And sometimes that means creating safety to feel our big feelings,
Creating safety for our hearts,
Connect with the loss,
The pain,
Maybe even the grief.
I want to say something important here.
You obviously have full permission to go slow.
There's no rush.
It's all my meditations.
It's all an invitation.
You decide how deep you want to go.
Your eyes are open.
I'd like to invite you.
Close them and go inwards with me now.
What's alive for you,
What's accessible for you here is your heart this morning.
A gentle reminder that you are allowed to be messy.
You are allowed to have big feelings.
You are allowed to be unsure and scared sometimes in your life.
You are allowed to go slow and you are allowed to ask for help.
You are allowed to ask for help.
Human experience is a roller coaster,
Ups and down and through all of it,
Every single moment,
Whether you want to believe it or not,
The universe has your back.
The universe has your back.
I want to create a little space for you to connect with your heart wherever your heart is this morning.
If there's sadness,
There's tenderness,
There's grief,
If there's joy and excitement,
There's no right or wrong way of doing this.
Maybe if you like,
You can put one hand on your heart.
If that doesn't feel right for you,
That's okay.
How is your heart this morning?
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Maybe that was easy for you.
Maybe that was very difficult,
But I believe the closer we get to our hearts,
The closer we get to God,
There's no way around it.
If you're alive,
You're having a human experience,
You are inevitably going to experience loss.
And often the emotional intensity of the loss is directly connected to the amount of love that existed.
And so yes,
You could choose to love smaller so that your loss will be smaller.
And that's okay.
That's a viable option.
But for many of us,
That just won't do.
Once again,
Out to be messy.
You are allowed to have big feelings,
To be unsure and scared sometimes.
You are also allowed to go slow.
And you are always allowed to ask for help.
Because whether you believe it or not,
The universe has always got your back.
It's always got your back.
Take a moment here together before our last song to notice in the silence here,
If there are any messages our heart wants to share with us.
Here we are the last song for our meditation this morning,
Wherever you went,
Whatever you felt or did not feel,
Whether you received the message or resisted the message.
I'm so grateful we had this time together.
For this last song,
I'm going to stay quiet and allow you to just keep breathing,
Connecting with your heart as fast or as slow as you'd like.
Just see what's real,
What's honest,
And what's accessible for you here.
Take a moment to land back in our bodies,
In our seats.
Take one deep breath to close our meditation,
Breathing in.
For those of us that are doing the meditation live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to do some private personal journaling.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer,
You could do the same.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
