Good morning,
And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Today's practice is going to be a little different.
There'll be a short,
Active component.
You'll need a piece of paper and a pen or pencil.
And I want to say,
Before we get in,
Today's meditation has a deeper,
Sometimes more tender conversation.
So if you are not feeling very resourced or not very interested in that topic,
Maybe this is the day you take a pause from our meditation and join us on another day.
And if you are interested in going deeper,
We can do that as well.
So,
If you're ready,
I want to invite you to open your eyes,
Find a piece of paper,
Find a pencil,
A pen,
A marker,
And write today's date.
Whatever day of the year it is,
Write it on a piece of paper in front of you.
For me,
The date today is November 21st.
And just take a moment to think about what that means.
November 21st.
Now,
Whatever the date is for you,
I want you to write next to it times however many of those dates you've had so far.
So for me,
It's November 21st times 42.
I've had 42 of these before.
Just take a breath,
Take a moment to reflect on that.
42 trips around the sun to return back to this day.
Now,
I want you to take a moment to think about how many more of these dates will you have?
Now,
Of course,
It's impossible to know.
The exploration can be a very worthy one,
Even though it's impossible.
How many more November 21sts will I have?
What if this is the last?
If so,
Is there something,
My heart,
My body,
My mind,
My soul,
Is unwilling to leave unsaid before I leave this earth,
This planet?
This can be a deep,
Dense,
Heavy topic.
And this has the potential of being one of the most inspiring,
Most awakening topics.
I want to invite you to close your eyes now as we go inwards together.
Taking a moment,
If you are open to it,
Just to celebrate how many of these days we have already had.
What a blessing.
What a gift.
Not everyone gets 42 November 21sts.
But I did.
Thank you,
Universe.
Thank you,
Earth.
Thank you,
Dear human.
Thank you to all those that helped me get this far.
Just take a moment to feel into the energy.
All the people,
All the places,
All the experiences that supported us,
Guided us,
Challenged us.
Continue taking deep breaths into your heart.
And let's take a nice deep breath here together.
Breathing in,
Big breath out.
Just taking some time to be with yourself,
With your heart.
With your human.
There's something you don't need,
Something you can let go of.
What would it be like to just let it go?
If there is some way you can choose to see,
To witness,
To love your human,
Are you willing to do that?
Our time together with our humans,
With our bodies,
Is not infinite.
You have a limited time on this relationship.
And that's not a bad thing.
There is a way that limitations can bring us to liberation.
When we realize how precious our time here is,
We can choose to go deep.
Is there some way in which today you can choose to support,
To love,
To honor your human?
It can be really simple.
It can be really silly.
It can be really deep.
It can be anything you want.
Continue taking deep breaths.
One of the most pivotal moments in my life happened when I realized that I am not a human.
I have a human.
My soul chose this human for a reason.
And this human is my soul's mate.
The closest,
Most important relationship I will have on this planet.
The moment I realized that,
I woke up.
I woke up and realized there is no reason for me to be so mean,
So critical,
So cruel,
So limiting this incredible being.
Everything I get to experience in this life on this planet happens through this human.
I chose then and there to start to treat this incredible being with the unconditional love that I was looking for from someone else.
This is our last song,
Dear artist.
I'm going to stay quiet and just let you,
Your soul,
And your human really connect.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
Bravo,
Dear soul,
Having a human experience.
Now,
Of course,
That is my belief.
Maybe it's not your belief and that's okay.
And maybe it is.
And maybe today's meditation allowed you to think and feel and embody in a deeper way around what that actually means.
For those joining us live at the artist's morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and share a journaling prompt to allow us to continue going deeper.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
You can do the same.
Put some time on your clock and see what's here and ready to be expressed through you.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
