This meditation is great for days when you could use a little extra support or energy. Slow down. Find safety and presence as I guide you through a visualization that brings you back to back and heart to heart with God. Please note: I don't have a particular religious connection to that word, so feel free to hear it in whatever way is supportive to you. Optional journaling prompts: - If you feel open, curious, and resourced, write a letter to God. - There is no way to get this wrong. - Say anything that feels honest. - If you had God’s full attention, and there was 0.000000% chance you could get this “wrong,” what would you want God to know? - If you'd like a few optional entry points, see below: Dear God, - I’m grateful for… - I’m afraid that… - I’m tired of… - I’m pissed about… - I’m ready for… - What I really want is… - The truth I don’t say out loud is… Remember, dear one: we are playing here. Nothing needs to happen. Be brave, but also be gentle with your heart.

Good morning,

And welcome to The Artist's Morning.

My name's Darius,

And I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.

Our practice today will be helpful on days where you could use a little extra support,

A little extra energy.

Let's begin.

If your eyes are open,

I'd like to invite you to close them now.

As we begin to go inwards together,

Nice and slow.

Taking a few deeper,

Longer breaths.

Allowing yourself to really land here and now.

Here and now.

Slowing down.

Deep breath in.

Hold at the top of your inhale.

Big exhale out.

Continue taking deep,

Long,

Intentional breaths.

Allowing a gentle softness to work its way from the top of your head all the way down to your feet.

Softening,

Softening,

Softening your forehead,

Your jaw,

Your neck,

Your shoulders,

Allowing your shoulders to drop,

Softening all the way down your arms to the tips of your fingers.

Deep breath into your heart space,

Into your belly,

Softening down,

Down,

Down,

Your hips,

Your thighs,

Your knees and shins,

All the way down to your feet,

Tops of your feet,

The bottoms of your feet,

Your toes.

Nice,

Deep breaths,

Big exhales out,

Letting your system,

Your mind,

Body,

Heart,

Know that your voice is safe here.

You're allowed to take up space with your breath and your sounds.

It's a simple gesture to take up space with your breath,

With your sound.

And it's a big gesture.

It lets your nervous system know that you're safe here.

You're allowed to go slow.

You're allowed to rest here.

You are safe here.

There's nothing needed of you here.

There's no one you need to be here.

There is,

However,

A cost.

And the cost is you need to be here.

Right here,

Right now.

Will you join me here?

Will you join me now?

Let's take a nice,

Deep breath here and now.

Deep breath in.

Big exhale out.

I am here now.

We are here now.

Your mind wanders.

That's okay.

That's what creative minds do.

You can come back here now at any moment.

With your permission,

I'd like to guide us through a little visualization.

I promise there's no way you can get this right or wrong.

Let's take a nice,

Deep breath.

I want you to imagine there is a beautiful field in front of you.

It's a perfect day.

The weather is exactly the way you like it.

And there's a patch of grass with a little meditating pillow.

And you just know that is your seat.

So I'd like to invite you to grab your seat to go sit down.

Get nice and comfortable.

And the moment you do,

You realize this pillow is exactly the right pillow for your body.

As you sit,

There's a deep sense of comfort.

You can hear the birds singing.

There's a gentle,

Warm breeze,

And it's so soothing.

And as you begin to settle into your meditation seat,

There's this sense of calm,

Grounded safety.

It's so simple.

It's so soothing.

So let's take a few deep breaths as we settle in to our seat,

As we settle in to this meditation on this beautiful day.

Tall,

Gentle spine.

Heart open.

Voice open.

Feet grounded.

Nice deep breath.

This is a very special seat.

You can feel something has shifted.

Someone has entered the space.

And directly behind you is another meditation pillow.

Someone from directly behind you has taken a seat.

And as they sit down,

You can feel the energy of their back.

You are sitting back to back with this person,

With this being.

There's nothing you need to do.

There's nothing that needs to happen.

You,

Dear one,

Are sitting back to back with God.

Now,

I know that word means many things to many people.

And I don't have any particular religious connection to that word.

So I want to invite you to use that word and that concept in a way that can be supportive to you.

You are sitting back to back with God.

And if you're interested in making a little bit of contact with God back to back,

It's really simple.

Take a deep breath in and gently lean back.

And back to back with God.

Your heart and God's heart are in connection.

Can you feel the support?

Can you feel the frequency and vibration?

There is so much unconditional love here for you.

Will you receive it?

It's okay if your answer is,

No,

Thank you,

Darius.

It's okay if your answer is,

I'm not sure.

It's okay if your answer is,

I'm not sure.

And it's okay if on this day you are open to receiving the love,

The support,

The guidance of God.

This is our last song.

If you feel open to receiving,

If you feel curious to explore,

I want to invite you to continue staying in contact back to back,

Heart to heart with God.

I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of this song and allow you and your heart to explore.

Bravo,

Dear artist.

Bravo,

Dear creator.

You made it to the end of another meditation.

And for that,

I am so grateful.

For those joining us live at the artist morning,

I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and share a journaling prompt on the theme of today's practice.

Intended to help us continue exploring.

And of course,

If you're catching us on a replay,

Perhaps on insight timer,

You can do the same.

Thank you once again for meditating with me.

My name is Darius and I will see you next time.

This timing is perfect. Today was a year ago I lost my mom. So I really needed this extra support. I am so grateful to get to experience this closeness with God and her today. I just let my tears flow and felt the presence of peace. Today is going to be rough but you let me start it with love and kindness for myself. I thank you my friend for always knowing just what I need and when. 🙏🏻💕

Beautiful meditation. God is within each of us and His love and support are always available to each of us if we open our hearts to receive. I’m grateful to you for creating this meditation, Darius. It was so special and it lifted me and warmed my soul! ❤️🙏 Big love, Tracy
