Good morning,
And welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius,
And I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our practice today will be a curious exploration.
It's intended to help us explore a few questions I will pose throughout the meditation that are unanswerable.
There's no right or wrong answer.
There's a good chance you've never heard these questions before.
And if your brain is like my brain,
It will attempt to quote-unquote get it right to figure it out,
And it might convince you you're doing it wrong,
And I'm here to reassure you there's no right way.
Sometimes just asking the question is the point.
So if you have access to a little bit of playful,
Curious energy,
And you'd like to go on a little journey,
A creative journey with me,
This is the meditation for you.
Let's begin by closing our eyes and going inwards,
Giving yourself a moment to really arrive here,
Now,
A gentle reminder that you can go slow.
Take a nice deep breath together,
Moving from our head space to our heart space.
Breathing in and letting it go,
A reminder that you are safe here.
We are safe here.
We are playing.
We are exploring,
And at any point,
You can slow the process down.
With your permission,
I'm going to share a few questions,
And remember,
The point isn't to get to a single destination with the answer.
It's actually just to let the question in.
You're open to it,
And see what comes up and see where it takes you.
Here's the first question.
Dear artist,
Where is God's heart?
Where is God's heart?
Can you tap into the frequency,
The energy,
The color,
The sounds,
The shapes?
Where in the universe is God's heart?
Is there a color associated to God's heart for you?
Is there a direction?
As your eyes are closed,
Can you feel it in front of you,
Behind you,
To the right,
To the left,
Below you,
Above you?
It's a strange question.
And strange questions give us an opportunity to build new pathways,
New neuropathways,
New pathways in our hearts.
Our brains are growing,
Our hearts are growing,
And if this question is too strange for you,
Maybe you can take a seat,
Sit back,
And just keep breathing.
You don't need to continue following these questions.
And if you're curious and feel playful,
We can keep going.
Where is God's heart?
Here's another question for you.
What if you were God's heart?
What if you were God's heart?
Maybe that's preposterous.
Maybe that's impractical.
Maybe that makes no sense at all.
And maybe,
Just maybe,
You are God's heart.
You are eternally precious to God.
You are perfectly imperfect.
You are forever lovable.
What if we were God's heart?
Continue taking deep breaths into your own heart.
It's such a strange idea.
Firstly,
Trying to imagine God's heart.
Secondly,
Imagining that you and I are God's heart.
So strange,
Yet so marvelous.
Are there other parts of life that are strange and marvelous?
Is it possible that you and I are God's heart?
Perfectly imperfect.
Eternally lovable.
This is our last song.
And I'm going to leave a lot of open space for you to explore.
For you to step closer to God's heart.
For you to step away from God's heart.
For you to imagine what could happen to your life if you and I were God's heart.
Artists,
Bravo dear creator.
You made it to the end of what might have been the strangest meditation you've ever done.
Who knows,
Maybe this was a walk in the park for you and you've thought about this question many times before.
Maybe this was your first time.
I'm going to be honest,
I've never thought about this question before today.
So thank you for being curious,
Being playful.
Thank you for your resistance.
Thank you for going on this journey with me.
For those that are joining us live at the Artist Morning,
I'm going to share a journaling prompt to allow us to go even deeper and continue exploring.
And of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Maybe on Insight Timer,
You can do the same.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
