In this guided meditation, we explore some unanswerable questions about God. If you're anything like me, you might often try to "get it right" or "figure things out" but sometimes just asking the question is the point. This experimental meditation will help you access some curious, playful energy. Do you want to take a creative journey? If so, this meditation is for you! *Note: I do speak about God in this one. Feel free to translate that into language that works for you (i.e. The Divine, The Universe, etc), but if "God" is triggering for you, you may want to skip this one. Optional journaling prompts: Take a deep breath and place your hand over your heart. Close your eyes for a moment and feel its steady rhythm. If you are open to it, take a moment to consider this question: “What if I was God’s heart?” If that were true, what would it mean for the way you love, create, and move through the world? How could it change the way you see yourself and others?

Good morning,

And welcome to The Artist's Morning.

My name's Darius,

And I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.

Our practice today will be a curious exploration.

It's intended to help us explore a few questions I will pose throughout the meditation that are unanswerable.

There's no right or wrong answer.

There's a good chance you've never heard these questions before.

And if your brain is like my brain,

It will attempt to quote-unquote get it right to figure it out,

And it might convince you you're doing it wrong,

And I'm here to reassure you there's no right way.

Sometimes just asking the question is the point.

So if you have access to a little bit of playful,

Curious energy,

And you'd like to go on a little journey,

A creative journey with me,

This is the meditation for you.

Let's begin by closing our eyes and going inwards,

Giving yourself a moment to really arrive here,

Now,

A gentle reminder that you can go slow.

Take a nice deep breath together,

Moving from our head space to our heart space.

Breathing in and letting it go,

A reminder that you are safe here.

We are safe here.

We are playing.

We are exploring,

And at any point,

You can slow the process down.

With your permission,

I'm going to share a few questions,

And remember,

The point isn't to get to a single destination with the answer.

It's actually just to let the question in.

You're open to it,

And see what comes up and see where it takes you.

Here's the first question.

Dear artist,

Where is God's heart?

Where is God's heart?

Can you tap into the frequency,

The energy,

The color,

The sounds,

The shapes?

Where in the universe is God's heart?

Is there a color associated to God's heart for you?

Is there a direction?

As your eyes are closed,

Can you feel it in front of you,

Behind you,

To the right,

To the left,

Below you,

Above you?

It's a strange question.

And strange questions give us an opportunity to build new pathways,

New neuropathways,

New pathways in our hearts.

Our brains are growing,

Our hearts are growing,

And if this question is too strange for you,

Maybe you can take a seat,

Sit back,

And just keep breathing.

You don't need to continue following these questions.

And if you're curious and feel playful,

We can keep going.

Where is God's heart?

Here's another question for you.

What if you were God's heart?

What if you were God's heart?

Maybe that's preposterous.

Maybe that's impractical.

Maybe that makes no sense at all.

And maybe,

Just maybe,

You are God's heart.

You are eternally precious to God.

You are perfectly imperfect.

You are forever lovable.

What if we were God's heart?

Continue taking deep breaths into your own heart.

It's such a strange idea.

Firstly,

Trying to imagine God's heart.

Secondly,

Imagining that you and I are God's heart.

So strange,

Yet so marvelous.

Are there other parts of life that are strange and marvelous?

Is it possible that you and I are God's heart?

Perfectly imperfect.

Eternally lovable.

This is our last song.

And I'm going to leave a lot of open space for you to explore.

For you to step closer to God's heart.

For you to step away from God's heart.

For you to imagine what could happen to your life if you and I were God's heart.

Artists,

Bravo dear creator.

You made it to the end of what might have been the strangest meditation you've ever done.

Who knows,

Maybe this was a walk in the park for you and you've thought about this question many times before.

Maybe this was your first time.

I'm going to be honest,

I've never thought about this question before today.

So thank you for being curious,

Being playful.

Thank you for your resistance.

Thank you for going on this journey with me.

For those that are joining us live at the Artist Morning,

I'm going to share a journaling prompt to allow us to go even deeper and continue exploring.

And of course,

If you're catching us on a replay,

Maybe on Insight Timer,

You can do the same.

Thank you once again for meditating with me.

My name is Darius and I will see you next time.

Brilliant !! Thank you Darius. I find that the more distance I wander from the cultural and religious institutions of church and marraige , the “ monogamy and forever”, the more playful , imaginative my soul can be. Now this is awkward given my wife of 35 years, is still on the “ old” path . So, on a good day, once grounded , I lean into the tension. I love the mystery of not knowing !! I’ll be back here tomorrow Thank you again !! Jeffrey

When the thought struck that we are the heart of God, it became completely light behind the eyelids and it came like pulsating waves, which turned into a warm thought. About how important it is to give each other love and see how valuable everyone is

I loved this! The “answer” you suggested is the first one that came to me when you asked the question. It’s a beautiful thought. Thank you, Darius!

We can’t put into words the un understandable. Gods heart is everything therefore we are all gods heart. We are part of the whole. Maybe if we could see the good in things and believe in the good in things the world would be a better place. Thank you Darius 🙏

I’ve always believed what we are all creatures of God, each of us has a special piece of his heart. Everything around us is part of his heart and if you take care and nurture it then is grows stronger and more beautiful. Just look inside your soul and all around you at this beautiful planet. I believe God’s heart will and does keep me kind, loving caring and safe. If we all really thought about this our world would be filled with more happiness and joy. Thank you for this wonderful message today. Thank you for always supporting me/us on this journey. Thank you my dear friend. 🙏🏻💕
