Good morning and welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
The theme for our meditation today will be building creative momentum,
Building creative stamina.
This meditation is made for anyone that has something they want to create and share with the world.
It could literally be anything.
An event,
A project,
An experience,
A relationship,
A blog,
A podcast,
A song,
Even a beautiful meal.
Creativity is everywhere,
Especially inside you.
Let's begin our meditation.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to ask you to gently close them now as we begin to go inwards together.
Let's go slow.
Give yourself a moment to land.
If there are parts of you that are elsewhere in the past,
In the future,
Let's pull them into this moment.
Bring them back to your body.
Let's give ourselves a chance to truly arrive.
Bravo,
Dear Artist.
Welcome to this moment.
Welcome to this new morning together.
Welcome to this new breath.
I'd like to invite you to take long,
Deep breaths throughout the meditation.
If you find yourself in your head,
In your past,
In your future,
Use your breath to bring you back into your body,
Into your throat,
Lungs,
And into your beautiful,
Glorious heart.
This heart space is so rich with creative soil.
Let's take a moment to activate and awaken our hearts.
If you are open to it,
Place one hand on your heart,
One hand just above your belly button,
Gently holding yourself,
Feeling your own embrace,
Taking deep breaths and noticing the rising and falling of your belly.
Thank you,
Dear heart.
Thank you for always being here for me,
For always believing in me.
Thank you for always giving me access to the infinite.
You can place your hands back down on your lap now.
And if you notice any tension around your neck,
Your forehead,
Your shoulders,
I want you to imagine it just melting away.
Let's take a deep breath here,
Holding at the top,
Breathing in.
And take another sip at the top here,
Shoulders up.
And on the exhale,
We're going to drop our shoulders and make a noise,
Letting it all go.
Wherever you are,
Wherever you've been,
Whatever's happened or has not happened,
You are here now.
Wherever you are,
Whatever's happened or has not happened,
You are here now.
For this next part of the meditation,
I'm going to walk you through a visualization.
I want to invite you not to try to get it right,
Because there's no such thing.
Play with me if you're open.
Explore and experiment like a little workshop together.
Let's begin.
I want you to imagine we happen to find ourselves at a beautiful,
Magical,
Enchanted forest.
Take a moment to look around.
All around us,
Magic.
All around us,
Miracles.
Now,
All of a sudden,
There is a path in front of you.
At the end of this path,
There is some sort of dream come true.
Don't overthink it.
Don't overthink it.
There's some sort of dream come true,
Specifically a creative dream come true.
Find that dream,
And remember you can come back to this meditation anytime.
Pick one dream for now,
And if you're open to it,
Let's go for a walk.
Let's take a step towards that dream,
And then another step,
And then another step.
Notice how you feel as we move through space and time.
Notice what happens to your heart as we get closer to this dream.
There are no right answers.
You can't get this wrong as we continue to move towards our dream.
Sometimes in life,
There are new obstacles,
New energies that have the ability to weigh us down,
To slow us down,
To make the experience heavier.
I'm here to tell you it's okay to lighten your load.
It's okay to let go.
I want you to imagine you are wearing a backpack,
And in the backpack,
There are several rocks,
Each one representing something you are holding that you no longer need.
You are welcome to continue walking down this path towards your dream with your backpack full,
And if you'd like,
You can lighten your load and let go of anything you no longer need.
Before you decide,
Take a moment to feel the weight,
Feel the density,
Feel how slow this weight can make you feel,
Feel the pressure,
Feel the pain.
Are you ready to let go of past projects,
Past relationships,
Past mistakes?
Are you ready to let go of a limiting belief about who you are,
What you're capable of?
Are you willing to let go of expectations of how people need to receive your creation?
Are you willing to let go of needing to get it right?
Imagine what you could create if you didn't have to be perfect,
What the experience could be like without all this weight.
We have one more song left in our meditation practice this morning.
Before that song starts,
One more invitation.
If there is something you are ready to let go of,
Open your bag,
Pick it up,
And place it on the ground.
If there is something you are ready to let go of,
Open your bag,
Pick it up,
And place it on the ground.
I'm going to stay quiet for the rest of this meditation and let you explore what it could feel like if you lighten your load and finally let go of anything that you no longer needed for this journey.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
Wherever you went,
However far you traveled,
However open or resistant you were,
You made it to the end of the meditation and for that I am very grateful.
For those joining live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to continue this exploration through some private personal journaling.
You're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer.
Of course,
You could do the same.
Put some time on your own clock and attune yourself and listen to what is here,
What is real,
And what is accessible through you,
Your pen,
And your journal.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
