Welcome to this guided meditation.
Today we will be working with the mantra Waheguru.
This mantra's meaning can be translated as,
Wow,
The ecstasy of moving from darkness to light.
This mantra allows the feeling of Ananda to rise within us.
This is our innate inner joy.
It's something we can experience at a source level,
But often find ourselves cut off from.
By working with this mantra,
We can allow this joy to rise up within us.
We can allow ourselves to experience the pleasure of enjoying life and accepting all challenges that come our way.
Waheguru.
And so,
Let us find comfortable positions,
Our sit bones grounded into the seat below us.
And imagine a string is tied to the top of your head.
Allow it to pull you upwards,
Stretching your spine.
Feel that string be cut and drift down,
Settling further onto your sit bones,
Allowing your body to relax while retaining your upright posture,
Being held by gravity.
And make sure your chest is open,
Your heart space lifted.
Keep your chin lightly tucked.
And if you haven't already,
Close your eyes.
Let's take a few deep breaths in.
And so on your next inhalation,
Fill yourself all the way up and hold your breath.
Squeeze in your belly and your lower back.
Tighten in around your spine.
And release with a sigh.
Let's take one more deep breath like this.
And so fully in.
Hold.
Squeeze everything in.
And release.
Wonderful.
Let's also scan through our bodies to release any tension we might be holding.
Start at the top of your head and scan through the muscles of your face.
Release your jaw and your tongue.
Let that wave of relaxation move down into your neck and your shoulders.
Allow this relaxation to drift into your arms and hands.
Let it flow into your chest,
Your abdomen,
Your lower back.
Release and relax everything you find.
Now feel into your hips,
Your connection with the ground or the seat.
Feel your thighs and your knees,
Your ankles,
Your feet.
Let everything relax.
Now imagine your outline.
See your three-dimensional shape.
Let everything within fall away and allow the barriers of yourself to expand outwards to begin taking in the world around you.
Any sounds in your environment,
Any light you can see behind your eyelids,
Any sensations you may feel.
Take them in.
Allow them to become a part of yourself as you expand outwards farther and farther.
Feel this expansiveness reaching down into the earth and up into the sky as yourself expands to something beyond your body.
Now allow this self to shrink back in onto your physical form.
Down first to the room around you and then in tighter and tighter until you're focused purely on your physical body.
Let your attention focus inward.
Allow space for any rising thoughts or feelings.
See them as bubbles rising in a dark cool water.
See the bubbles reaching the surface and see them popping.
See the thoughts and the feelings passing you by.
If more bubbles rise,
Allow them space to exist but let them go.
Don't hold on to them.
Just let them rise and pop and keep peering inward.
Keep focusing on the rhythms of your breath.
Having come to relax here,
Let us call to mind our purposes today.
To embody joy.
To live fulfilled lives of love and passion.
To see the divinity in our challenges and our struggles.
So we can maintain a state of emotional clarity and we can touch the joy which lives behind our experiences.
Ananda.
And so let's begin now,
Allowing our breath to stay exactly where it is.
Waheguru.
And so speak this out loud or inside your mind but say it firmly.
Waheguru.
And remind yourself of the meaning as you say it.
Wow,
The ecstasy of moving from darkness to light.
And so let's just speak this to ourselves for the next few minutes.
Holding the space for each other to come into contact with this joy and abundance.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Waheguru.
Wow,
The ecstasy of moving from darkness to light.
And so release the mantra now.
Allow its vibrations to settle into your very state of being.
And so as we come back to our bodies,
Let us carry this practice with us.
Let us realize that we have the power to live with this exuberance and this ecstasy day in and day out.
And that through the use of this mantra,
We can experience that feeling in any moment,
Check in with it and integrate that,
Bringing it into the whole of our lives.
And so let us return to our bodies.
Feel in to your posture.
Allow yourself to stretch,
Allow your toes and your fingers to move.
Bring yourself back here into the physical form.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Whenever you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Namaste.
