Thank you so much for joining this practice on connecting with the space between our thoughts,

Connecting to our inner realm,

And opening to understand ourselves and our place in the universe more fully.

Please find a comfortable position,

Seated or lying down,

And allow your neck to grow long,

Your spine straight.

Keeping your chin lightly tucked,

Roll your shoulders down and back,

Opening your heart space.

And if you haven't already,

Please close your eyes.

Feel into your body here.

Breathe through your entire body,

Making sure to release any tension you might be holding in your shoulders so that your breath moves you all the way to the top of your head.

And releasing any holding in your lower back,

Your abdomen,

Or your hips that might prevent your breath from moving into the lower half of your body.

Feel yourself resistant,

Yet pliable,

Sturdy but flexible.

Here,

Let us practice a pranayamic breathing technique.

This is 6 second box breathing,

And if this is challenging for you,

You can lower it down to 4 seconds.

We'll be inhaling for 6,

Holding an internal retention for 6,

Exhaling for 6,

And then externally retaining for 6.

When we begin,

Ensure your breathing slowly and fully,

And always know your own limits.

If it feels like too much for you,

Do a 4 second count on your own.

And so,

Take a deep breath,

Fully in,

All the way,

And release with a sigh,

Take another deep breath in,

All the way,

And let it go.

Take one last deep breath in,

All the way up,

And let it out fully.

Perfect.

Just allow your breath to find its own natural rhythm,

Light but deep,

Uncontrolled by your mind,

And let us just sink in,

Turning our attention inward,

Finding the space between our thoughts,

And focusing there.

Relax the muscles of your face.

Release your jaw and your tongue.

Continue focusing on the rhythms of your breath as you allow all else to fade away and you feel in to the space between your thoughts,

Between your feelings.

There's nothing to worry about here.

You have nothing to do,

Nothing to plan,

Nowhere to be.

Simply allow yourself to be here,

Now,

In this present moment.

If emotions arise,

Just allow them to pass,

Knowing that they are not you,

That you are something deeper.

Nothing can touch you here.

Nothing can bother you.

You are whole.

You are complete.

Feel in to that.

Deep within ourselves is a place where we can connect to truths beyond our reality,

To our ultimate self.

And so feel spaciousness growing within you,

And dive in to that spaciousness.

Gently now,

Allowing yourself to return to your physical body.

Know that this spaciousness is always within us,

And that we can carry it with us throughout our days,

Through practice.

So take a deep breath in,

And a releasing breath out.

And whenever you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Thank you so much for taking part in this practice.

I hope it serves you well.

Using the box breathing practice and deep breathing, this is a welcome respite from my thoughts and a gentle invitation back to spaciousness and mySelf. Deeply peaceful.
