Discovering The Stillness Within
In this guided practice, we aim to discover the deep well of stillness within us all, also known as universal consciousness. This changeless place, whereby we are all connected with each other and the entire conscious universe, is accessible to us always, if we simply still ourselves enough to perceive it.

I want to thank you for joining this practice.
Today we will be turning within,
Setting our collective intentions on locating the deep well of stillness and connection which lives inside us all.
Within we can become absorbed by our material world,
Losing sight of the universal consciousness which resides within us all,
Binding us to a greater truth,
Providing us access to our own innate joy,
Love and inner peace.
And so,
As we come to rest here together,
I ask you to find a comfortable seated position,
Finding a posture where your knees are lower than your hips,
Allowing your pelvis to tilt slightly forward.
We want to allow our spines to find their natural curvature while stacking our abdomen,
Chest,
Shoulders and head so that we may be held by gravity firmly,
Enabling ourselves to relax into the posture while simultaneously remaining upright.
Roll your shoulders down and back,
Opening your chest wide,
Lifting your heart space,
And allow your chin to dip forward ever so slightly.
If you haven't already,
Please close your eyes and rest your hands on your lap,
Palms facing upward in a state of receiving.
On your next inhalation,
Take a deep,
Full breath in,
All the way up,
And hold.
Pull up your pelvic floor,
Squeeze in your stomach and back.
Tighten your chest,
Feel the energy coursing up your spine,
And allowing yourself to sigh audibly,
Release.
Let's take one more deep breath like this,
And so inhale fully,
All the way up,
And hold.
Tighten in all the muscles around your spine,
Hold just a little bit longer,
And release.
Perfect.
Now,
Allow your breath to find its own rhythm.
Don't make any effort to control it.
Simply witness its light and natural flow.
Let go of all control,
Knowing this is a safe place,
And deciding to take this time for yourself.
Bring your focus onto your right foot,
And allow all the muscles within to relax.
Feel the energy there,
And notice any changes that occur.
Perhaps you feel energy flowing more freely.
Now bring your attention onto your right calf and knee.
Repeat the process here,
Relaxing your muscles and feeling the energy within.
Clean up the right leg,
Feel your thigh and hip,
Let any tension there release,
And feel any changes to the energy within.
Now start with your left foot,
Relax it.
Allow the flow of energy there to be witnessed.
Continue up your left leg,
Releasing any tightness in your ankle,
Calf,
And knee.
Feel the increased sense of flow.
And place your attention on your left thigh and hip,
Repeating the process here,
Noticing any changes to its energy.
Move upward to your belly and lower back.
Simply relax the muscles there,
And notice the flow of energy increasing as your body loosens.
Scan upward into your abdomen,
Chest,
And upper back.
Release and relax all tightness you find.
Can you feel the difference energetically?
Check in with your right arm and your right hand.
Relax and release all muscles within,
Feeling the flow of energy.
Now move to your left arm and hand.
Again release and relax.
Notice any change in its energy.
Now check in with your shoulders and neck.
Simply relax all the muscles within,
Ensuring your chest remains open and your heart lifted.
Let it all relax and feel the flow of energy.
Loosen your jaw and allow your tongue to fall to the floor of your mouth.
Relax the muscles around your brow and in your forehead.
Feel into the space and notice any change in its energy.
Now relax all the muscles at the top of your head,
Your crown.
Allow them to fall slack and the energy to pass freely through you.
Finally,
Feel your whole body as one and let it all relax.
Let yourself sink deeply into the safe space of relaxation.
Wonderful.
Many spiritual and meditative practices ask us to abandon our thoughts,
Positioning them as a barrier to overcome on the path to enlightenment.
Yet there is another way.
Instead of trying to quell our thoughts and snuff them out completely,
We can repurpose them,
Having them work with us.
We bring them into alignment with our purposes and have them as our trusty companions,
Aiding in the quest to realize our true nature.
Let us meditate together in this spirit for a few silent minutes,
Using the following short affirmation to repurpose our thoughts anytime we notice them leading us astray.
I use my thoughts.
I am not my thoughts.
And so as we sit here in silence,
Step back and become a witness to your own mind.
If a distracting thought regarding the past or future emerges,
Repeating your mind,
I use my thoughts.
I am not my thoughts.
Allowing yourself to remain here in the stillness of the present moment.
I use my thoughts.
I am not my thoughts.
I am not my thoughts.
I am not my thoughts.
I am not my thoughts.
And practice this powerful affirmation together,
Realize that we can utilize this throughout our days,
Slowly and steadily taking control of our minds and having them come into alignment with our greater purpose of embodying peace and inner wisdom.
Now shifting to our intentions of discovering the deep well of stillness within,
Realizing this place of peace is also the home of our subtle inner connection with each other,
Knowing we can access it through the portal of our hearts.
Let us consciously connect our hearts energy together to help us find residence in this place.
Imagine a golden whirlpool of energy centered on your heart space.
As you breathe in,
Fill this space up and feel the flow and power of your heart's energy increasing.
Realize that through this portal,
We connect with each other,
With the hundreds of thousands of people around the world who are meditating with us and all others walking the same path towards enlightenment.
As you continue to breathe into your heart space,
Emboldening the power and flow of the energy within it,
Consciously choose to allow tethers of golden energy to reach out in a multitude of directions,
Connecting with each other and all others throughout time and space who have taken part in this meditation.
Floating here,
In these revitalizing energies of the heart,
Allow yourself to melt,
Allow yourself to perceive this deep layer of self where we are all connected.
Long live the root!
You Having come to focus our minds and having connected with each other,
Let us move further into this deep place of stillness.
Realize that the physical world we live upon,
The entire universe we live within,
And the very bodies we use to interact with it all,
Are ever changing.
Nothing in this physical universe is static.
Everything is in constant flux.
Knowing this,
Let us meditate together,
Looking for that which is truly changeless within us.
Let us find the baseline of steady conscious being beneath it all.
If you feel your mind wandering,
Repurpose its thoughts by asking yourself what is changeful and what is changeless.
Allow yourself to perceive the deepest truth of our existence.
Allow yourself to touch true stillness.
Simply witness what's always been there by asking yourself what is changeful and what is changeless.
Let us find the baseline of steady conscious being.
Let us find the baseline of steady conscious being.
Let us find the baseline of steady conscious being.
Having dove together into this sea of stillness,
We now begin to return,
Knowing that this place of peace and inner connection is always with us,
And that by cultivating a mind which works with us,
And allowing our hearts to be open,
We can achieve a state of constant connection with this powerful truth.
We can allow ourselves to live our lives in peace and harmony with not only ourselves,
But the entirety of the conscious universe.
And so let us lock in this intention of maintaining connection with this space.
Let this practice crystallize in our hearts and minds,
So we may embody this truth always.
Let us find the baseline of steady conscious being.
Now,
We return to our bodies,
Finding they're right where we left them.
Allow yourself to sense the space around you,
Lightly wiggle your toes,
Wiggle your fingers,
Take a deep breath in,
And let yourself breathe out through your mouth restoratively.
Take one more big breath in,
And out.
Whenever you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
Namaste.
