Ho'oponopono Prayer
by Dan
Anyone that has experienced the Ho'oponopono prayer, knows it can be quite an emotional practise, yet deeply satisfying. Every time you sit it is an opportunity to work directly with difficult thoughts, bringing compassion and forgiveness... this forgiveness can be far-reaching if anyone has researched the background of the prayer. We have included some square breathing to help with the more emotional prayers. There are about 5 minutes of lead in chat about the practice. Enjoy and big love.
Transcript
This is the Ho'oponopono prayer.
It's a meditation that we do to take responsibility for some of the thoughts that arise or has arisen over the course of your life for a lot of the people that maybe you cared about,
Loved,
Parents and friends,
But also for those that haven't.
Taking that 100% responsibility of being accountable,
Seeing those thoughts as an opportunity now to let go of any of the resonance that's held onto when we thought in that way about someone.
So getting yourself comfortable,
Whether you want to sit or lie down for this practice.
Bringing all that awareness into the body.
Noticing those physical sensations.
Noticing your posture,
If you're sitting.
Leave your posture as you're lying down.
Allowing yourself just to rest comfortably into it.
Soften your jaw,
Tongue and shoulders.
Soften all the muscles in your face and your neck.
Allowing the body to relax,
The arms,
The hands.
Allowing the legs to relax.
Just allowing yourself to be here.
Be here right in this moment.
And even if we're not feeling relaxed,
Bring a bit of acceptance to that.
Noticing that it's okay to not be perfectly relaxed.
The relaxation process will continue on during this practice without any real effort done by you.
So as relaxing in to the body.
See from that place of calmness,
Of stillness.
You can bring some awareness onto the sensations of your breath.
Just noticing that flowing in and flowing out.
Trying to change it.
Just rest into that moment and breath is there effortlessly.
And throughout this practice if you get distracted by thoughts or have any sort of sense of overwhelming emotions as they arise.
As sometimes you do when you ask people for forgiveness and love.
Just returning back to that kind breath.
Allow that moment to settle.
So just continuing just to notice the sensations of breath.
There's nothing to do really.
We just rest and breath is there.
So now with the breath.
What I'd like you to do is breathe almost in a square.
So now as we're breathing.
What I'd like you to do is breathe as a square.
For this what I'm going to ask you to do is to breathe in for three or four seconds.
Hold for three or four seconds.
And breathe out for three or four seconds.
And hold for three or four seconds.
I'm going to want you to do that over and over again until you hear my voice.
I need your guidance to adjust that for you.
Breathing in for three or four seconds.
Hold for three or four seconds.
And breathe out for three or four seconds.
And hold for three or four seconds.
Breathing in for three or four seconds.
Hold for three or four seconds.
And breathe out for three or four seconds.
And hold for three or four seconds.
That's perfect,
You're doing amazing.
Breathing in for three or four seconds.
Hold for three or four seconds.
And breathe out for three or four seconds.
And hold for three or four seconds.
And now I'm going to offer you some phrases to recite.
This is the Pōponopono prayer part of the practice.
These can be done just in your thoughts.

Synchronicity really does exist doesn’t it? I wrote about that quote “Be the change you wish to see on the world” the other day. I am a tarot reader, I’ve been one for over a decade but i never saw myself doing it as a profession until covid happened and took away my career in live events. These past 2 months have been a challenge, what used to be my only source of income was taken away and the way I lived my life has been challenged and changed. Thankfully my Tarot practice has helped me put food on the table and one thing I try to do with each and every client I read for is to instill in them a desire to strive for their higher good. And yet with each shared story, and each time I held space for them I became keenly aware of the work that I still need to do as well on myself. To hold myself to the same standard and be the change that I wish to see. The day after I wrote about it, I came across a life coach talking about Ho’oponopono. And so I got curious. Today something happened that made me decide to go vegetarian. My family wanted to boil live crabs for dinner. And seeing them live and then imagining the last minutes of torture they’ll live through in the pot so that we can have 30 mins of gratification really woke something in me. I looked up Ho’oponopono here on insight timer and your track came up and it was perfect. But in the end when you recited Gandhi’s quote, it reaffirmed to me that there are no coincidences on the path. And everything that I’m going through now is leading somewhere. Thank you.

I enjoyed this meditation so much yesterday that I sent it to a friend as her homework. And then I decide to incorporate it into my daily routine for the next two weeks during a detox I had started. I was detoxing my body, but this will help me detox my soul. Thank you so much. May I ask where you are from? Because your voice is so melodic I was just wondering. Thank you so much. God bless 🙏❤️

Beautiful hopohonopono meditation. Dan’s soothing and heartfelt words make of him a perfect guide. Every minute spent on this meditation was worthy of my time. I feel reconciled with myself and with all those around me. Thank you very much for sharing your grace at the app. And yes, “be the change that you want to see in the world”.

A cleansing of the heart when through automatic reactions I have said things that were unnecessary and indirectly hurtful. Here I can confess and state my regrets
