A short space for pause. Take a few moments to check in, notice how you are feeling, soften into this moment... release this moment of stress with some kindness. This practise, if done often enough can create a much more helpful habit, meeting whatever is happening in your environment with that much-needed space you need.

Now this is the breathing space.

It has to be done with the eyes open,

But you're very welcome to close them if you want.

We start just getting in tune with the body.

Let's work with those physical sensations.

What can you notice?

Maybe it's the feet on the floor.

Maybe if you're walking you can feel the breeze on your face or the warmth from the sunshine.

Maybe you can notice that gentle breath as it flows into and out of the body.

I just want you to look around.

What's in front of you?

What colours can you see without trying to name them?

The movement of life continues to change.

Then bringing that awareness back onto the breath.

And just notice in that gentle breath as it flows into and out of the body.

This time as we breathe in,

I just want you to say in in your thoughts as you breathe in.

As you breathe out,

I just want you to say the word out in your thoughts as well.

Let's just do this just a couple of times,

Just as you breathe in,

Saying in.

As you breathe out,

Saying out.

As you breathe in,

Saying in.

As you're breathing out,

Saying out.

Almost like you can recognise that you are breathing in and that you are breathing out.

All these seems to happen without you really trying anything at all.

Like the colours that are in front of you,

Or the smells and tastes and warmth.

As we bring our awareness into the moment,

We can recognise that all these just seem to happen.

All we need to do is notice,

Give ourselves some space.

Let's return back to the breath again.

Just with me one more time breathing in and saying in.

Really let the out-breath go as long as you can this time as you say out.

Really let it go as long as you can.

Let's just do that one more time,

Breathing in and saying in.

Really letting the out-breath go.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

This is a simple “how to” stay in the here and now despite what you might be doing at any moment. You could do this 20 x a day.
