You can be lying down,

You can be seated,

So just coming to whatever is comfortable and I'll guide you through.

And then today let's start with,

It's kind of like giving yourself a hug.

You put one hand underneath your armpit and then cross the other over the shoulder and then taking a deep breath in,

Letting your eyes close.

And then you can kind of just add a little bit of a rocking side to side or maybe using your fingers to give yourself more of a squeeze and just starting to breathe into your heart,

Feeling like you're hugging yourself.

And so this is a little somatic practice that you could use right before a writing session,

Maybe right after to kind of celebrate your progress and it just helps to regulate the nervous system and come back to that sense of safety.

So taking a few more breaths into the chest and then you can hold this pose for longer if you'd like or you can start to move your hands down to your lap or beside you.

I'm starting to engage the breath a bit more and we'll do a few breaths together to count of four.

Letting all the breath flow out.

Inhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Inhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Inhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Continuing the count on your own.

Feeling the breath lift up through your chest and on the exhale feeling your shoulders relax,

Your torso relax,

Your hips relax,

Settling down into the surface beneath you.

As you breathe in,

Feeling in as if that fresh oxygen is filling up not just your lungs but every cell of your body.

Then as you breathe out,

Picturing that carbon dioxide coming out of every cell of your body,

Anything that is not essential being released with the breath.

I'm starting to shift your awareness behind your closed eyes deep into the center of your head into the location that you might know as your third eye or just kind of bringing your awareness to the point that is in the center of your head.

And then focusing your awareness there.

And from there you can start to either visualize or just sense into the feeling of your space that you write.

So you might picture it in your mind,

The chair that you usually write from or the room that you usually write from.

Or you might more feel it in your body kind of like that mode of writing.

And then just think we clear our energy and we'll start to clear that space.

And so our energy,

The way that we move it is a couple ways.

We can use it by visualizing or using the breath.

And so you can kind of pick what resonates the most with you.

You could visualize yourself moving through the space with kind of like a duster or a vacuum.

But rather than cleaning up mess,

Cleaning up the energy,

Almost like picking up any energetic debris.

So just visualizing yourself moving through the space.

Or you can continue using the breath and just like we did,

Clearing your own energy.

Each inhale,

Imagine golden light filling the space.

And each exhale,

Imagine that the dust,

The debris,

The old energy is being drained out of the space.

Or you can use a mix of both.

And so just picking whichever,

Whichever mental anchor to focus on.

And you might also notice or sense into a particular area of the space that feels like it needs extra support or extra clearing.

We'll just spend a few moments,

A few more moments here.

Either continuing to play with the visualization or using your breath to clear the space.

And start to sense into the space again.

And this time sensing in for any support that is present in the space.

So knowing that we are always supported.

There might be an object in the space.

There might be the presence of a house plant or a pet.

Or you might sense sort of a guide or a being that's there in the space with you.

Or even an object,

A crystal.

And so just noticing what pops into your mind first and just trusting that that is your support or your guidance.

And if you don't have something come in right away,

You can just kind of ask the question again.

What is my support or guidance?

And so just knowing that this guidance is present in your space can be supportive and encouraging.

And just recognizing it and being able to engage with it in the physical as well.

And if you didn't necessarily notice something that is physical,

You can also insert something energetically.

You could choose to imagine an energetic rose on your desk.

Or maybe placing an energetic photo of someone from your family who's passed.

Or a spiritual teacher.

Or something else that feels like it would bring encouragement and inspiration.

And so then just taking some time for that to settle in.

Almost using each breath to let that solidify into the space.

And lastly,

We're going to add one more element to the space and placing yourself in the space.

So again,

Whether you're visualizing yourself there or just sort of feeling through your senses as if you're sitting in your writing chair with your computer or your pen and paper or whatever materials that you normally use.

And as you visualize or feel yourself being there,

Starting to feel into the sense that as you're writing that you are being guided.

And so you might visualize this as the crown of your head kind of having this open door or sort of funnel shape at the top that is receiving light in from the universe.

Or you might visualize it another way.

And so seeing yourself as you're working,

Running into a question or a challenge or feeling stuck.

And then imagining yourself realizing the best possible answer,

Knowing the way forward,

Feeling fully supported and fully guided.

And you might continue to imagine yourself making progress,

Finishing a session,

Feeling really good about what you've written.

Coming up with a new idea,

The perfect chapter title,

The perfect line of dialogue.

And almost like you're kind of fast-forwarding and watching yourself finish the entire project and fast-forward in a span of two seconds and just seeing yourself run into any kinds of issues that might come up along the way and always knowing the best way forward.

And feeling more of that satisfaction.

That gratitude.

That healing that comes from writing the story,

From getting to experience the story yourself.

And so just staying with that feeling,

Feeling it in your body as you visualize.

And finally,

We'll close out with just creating a sense of a boundary and a protection around the space.

So you might visualize this as a bubble that's around the room that you write in.

You could visualize it as a pyramid.

Maybe giving it a color,

Maybe it's made of gold light,

Maybe it's made of red for protection.

Just noticing what comes to mind,

What feels good.

And so visualizing this sort of shield,

This protection that's around your writing space.

That is sealing in all these intentions that we've set.

And feeling into each breath,

Helping this shield solidify into space.

And then beginning to close.

Starting to come back into your current space in your body.

And taking a deeper breath into the chest.

Maybe letting it out with a sigh.

Taking a breath into the belly.

And exhaling.

And breathing again into the hips.

And exhale.

And starting to wiggle the fingers and the toes.

And when you're ready,

Coming back,

Opening the eyes.
