The ego is one of the most major stumbling blocks on our way to freedom, peace, love, abundance, and awakening. This is so simply because in its efforts to keep us safe, the ego does not want us to grow, unfold or expand. And so, with every means possible, the ego seeks to keep us right where we are. In other words, finding a way to transcend the ego is vital. I invite you to join me as we explore this very powerful yet simple (please don't confuse it with easy), technique to do just that.

Blessings and welcome to the Path to Freedom.

My name is Daniel Roquillo and as always I'm deeply grateful and honored and privileged that you're choosing to join me,

That you're choosing to participate in the growth and the unfoldment and the transformation of who and what you are,

Allowing for ever greater and grander expressions of that who and what to emerge.

In the previous session we talked about the egoic structures or the egoic mantra,

I believe the theme for that session was,

And we talked about how these core beliefs of the ego is I am not enough and that there is not enough and that as long as we are not able to challenge them or as long as we are unaware of these structures and these core beliefs,

All these excuses and reasons the ego serves us as to why not to grow,

Why not to expand,

Why not to keep moving forward.

They run us.

And so this session is about how to transcend the ego,

How to unattach ourselves from the ego,

How to identify ourselves from the ego,

How to sever the link to the ego,

Which does not mean that we will perhaps ever quiet the ego,

Because I think that the ego will always be there but we don't need to be run by it,

But we can take our power back,

We can run ourselves.

So the principles behind transcending the ego,

They are very simple,

They are very very simple,

It's not always easy and perhaps more accurately,

Especially in the beginning it's not at all easy,

But they are still simple.

And the way to do it is through becoming aware.

Awareness is the most major and the most powerful healing agent there is.

Awareness and love,

I want to add love,

I need to add love to that statement.

But awareness,

As we become aware,

Which simply means that we observe and witness without participating,

Without engaging in,

Without being caught up by,

But we observe it.

And through that observation,

Through that awareness,

The attachment that we may have or the attachment that we may have had,

It begins to dissolve,

It begins to release,

To be released.

And so the way to do it is to,

On a continuous basis,

Become still,

Stop and become still and turn our attention within,

Begin to observe our minds and what's going on within our minds.

And observe this egoic voice,

These egoic excuses as to why we are not ever to make it,

Why we will not,

Why we should not go for it,

Why we cannot go for it,

Why we should not make the leap,

Why we should not venture outside of our current comfort zones or why we should not venture into the unknown.

All these excuses,

All these fears and worries and doubts,

These are all projections from the ego arising out of these beliefs that we are not enough and that there is not enough.

But as we begin to observe and just simply pay attention,

We don't need to do anything with it,

But simply observe our minds and these thought forms as they pass through our minds.

They begin to lose their power over us.

And as we become aware,

In that moment of becoming aware,

As the awareness breaks or severs the power link between us and the ego,

The attachment,

The identification between us and the ego,

In that power,

In that moment of becoming aware,

We are offered the ability to make a choice,

Not simply react,

But to make a choice.

We get to choose whether to believe these stories as to why we're too rich or too poor or have the wrong last name or don't have the right sexual orientation or don't belong to the right religion or whatever excuses the ego may be serving us.

We get to choose to not buy into them.

And when we experience fear and worry and doubt,

As we begin to,

As we become aware of experiencing the fear and the worry and doubt,

And as we realize that these are emotional reactions to the egoic misperception that we are not enough and the egoic misperception that there is not enough,

We get to choose to move and to act in spite of the fear.

We can still be with the fear,

We can still experience the fear,

But the fear is not running us.

It is not controlling us,

But we get to choose in spite of the fear.

And this is all,

This all arises out of becoming aware.

Or whenever we get caught up in an argument,

And arguments also arise out of these perceptions of not being enough and not having enough.

If I know that I am enough and that there is enough for everyone,

Then there's no reason for me to fight over an opinion or my perception.

There's no need for me to convince another that I am right.

But that need to make others see things the way we see them,

They all arise out of the fear of not being enough and the fear of not having enough.

And so whenever we find ourselves in an argument or whenever we find ourselves attached to anything,

Anything,

That is the ego within us,

Thinking that it needs to be in a certain way.

Whenever we have an opinion about something or a judgment about something or a point of view about something,

That is the ego within us having fooled us to believe that it needs to be that way,

It needs to look like that.

But as we become aware of these structures and as we become aware of when we're being drawn into these reactions,

When we're being pulled into stories as to what should and should not be,

In that moment of becoming aware,

That awareness breaks the attachment and so enters the practice of using the breath.

Because in the moment of becoming aware,

A beautiful tool to amplify and to magnify and to support and empower this unidentification and unattachment is to turn to the breath.

And so I'm becoming aware of being attached to a particular outcome or a certain condition,

Things being in a certain way and things needing to be in a certain way,

I come back to the breath,

I take a couple of deep conscious breaths.

And in that space that is being created by these breaths,

That unattachment or that nonattachment is being empowered.

So simply through coming back to the breath,

We've created a space where we're no longer identified,

Where we're no longer attached to the ego and its structures.

And as we do this over and over and over again,

As we through repetition come back to the breath whenever we become aware of the ego within us or whenever we become aware of being run by the ego,

As we come back to the breath over and over and over again,

Our presence muscles builds which allows us to remain unattached for longer and longer and longer periods,

Even in instances and moments where we perhaps in past moments were very attached.

When intense things are happening around us and we can feel the pull and the tug of the ego wanting to toss us into a reaction,

A fearful reaction,

An angry reaction,

A resentful reaction or whatever the case may be,

Even in these moments the egoic power begins to dissolve.

And we begin to take our power back.

Becoming aware and breathe.

Becoming aware and breathe.

That is how we transcend the ego.

Over time,

It's not going to happen overnight,

But with time.

Becoming aware and breathe.

Becoming aware,

Come back to the breath.

Becoming aware,

Come back to the breath.

Becoming aware,

Come back to the breath.

Alright,

So thank you so so much for tuning in,

For listening.

I truly appreciate it and I'm truly grateful.

Until the next time,

I bless,

Bless,

Bless your day and I bless,

Bless,

Bless your way.

You beautiful,

Magnificent,

Free,

Wonderful,

Powerful being.

Namaste.
