Blessings and welcome to the Path to Freedom.
My name is Daniel Roqueillo and as always I'm deeply grateful that you're choosing to join me in a moment of expanding our consciousness and lifting our vibration via understanding,
Via insights,
Via revelations,
And via practice.
So the theme for today is consciousness versus content.
These all have something to do with the fact that as we incarnate onto this planet,
We do so as spiritual beings.
We take on a human form,
We grow up,
We have arms,
We have legs,
We have fingers,
We have a mouth,
And all these physical attributes.
And we obtain thoughts and we obtain emotions and we experience thoughts and we experience emotions and we experience feelings and we experience physical sensations and all of that.
But the fact remains that however much we experience something,
Whatever it is that we are experiencing is not who we are.
It is very easy for us to get identified with our thoughts or our emotions or our bodies or our physical sensations or conditions or circumstances.
It is very,
Very easy for us.
And many individuals live close to their whole lives identified.
They are their stories,
They are their thoughts,
They are their bodies.
They are a bunch of things that they have identified themselves with.
However,
The truth and the essence of who and what we are is none of that.
Not the thoughts,
Not the emotions,
Not the perceptions,
Not the bodies,
Not the conditions,
Not the circumstances,
Not the experiences.
But we,
Each and every single one of us,
Regardless of whether we are aware of it or not,
We are all consciousness,
Pure consciousness or pure awareness.
And so we have incarnated onto this planet as this consciousness.
And into this consciousness,
Into this field of awareness flows all of these experiences,
All of the thoughts and all of the emotions and all of the perceptions and all of the bodily sensations.
They all flow into this field of consciousness,
Field of awareness.
But there's a difference between consciousness and content.
And so to illustrate this,
I'm leaning into Reverend Michael Bernard Beckwith's analogy of this because I think it's profound and I think it's beautiful and it's very easy to understand.
So we're consciousness and then we have content.
Now imagine the ocean.
And you perhaps have heard me say this before.
But imagine the ocean.
What is the ocean?
The ocean is a body of water.
A body of water.
Now in the ocean there's a lot of things.
There's a lot of stuff.
We've got fish and we've got seaweed and we've got whales and sharks and krill and we've got all these corals and there's pollution,
There's plastic and there's oil and there's sunken ships and there's so much stuff in the ocean.
So we have the ocean and then we have the content in the ocean.
And the content being all of that that I just listed and all of that that I just said.
The content is not the ocean.
But the content is in the ocean.
The content is in this body of water.
But the fish are not the ocean.
The fish are not the water.
And the sunken ships are not the water.
It is not the ocean.
So all of this content is there in this body of water.
And this is a beautiful analogy that illustrates how we are consciousness,
How we are pure awareness and that content flows into this field of awareness.
And when we identify with the content,
We're in trouble.
Because then we get pulled into a story or a fantasy about something other than that which is true and real,
Where the essence of who and what we are is concerned.
So whenever we become attached to something,
A thought form,
A story,
A perception,
An emotion,
A physical sensation,
We're wise to seek to come back to the awareness and to the realization that we are the consciousness that is experiencing this.
And when we do,
Freedom,
Real freedom begins to well up from within us.
When we realize that the world cannot move us unless we give it permission to move us.
No one can make us think or feel anything unless we give them permission to think or feel something.
Not even we ourselves can make ourselves think or feel anything unless we submit to the constant flow of experiences.
All right.
I think that was it for today.
Until the next time,
I bless,
Bless,
Bless your day and I bless,
Bless,
Bless your way.
You beautiful,
Radiant,
Magnificent,
Wonderful field of consciousness.
Namaste.
