Thank you for joining me for today's meditation.
Today's practice is all about reconnecting to your heart and your soul.
Remembering who you are in your most authentic,
Honest state.
Free from all of the busyness and distraction.
It's so easy to get turned around in this life.
Getting pushed and pulled in a million different directions.
By other people and obligations and places and even by our own minds.
We find ourselves wearing labels,
Playing a role,
Putting on masks.
Always striving to live up to some expectation.
Always trying to fit in and feel accepted.
And before we know it,
We are getting swept away from who we truly are.
When we drift away to that conditioned way of being,
Drifting away from our true nature,
We often know it.
Deep down we can feel it.
We can feel a longing or an aching in our heart.
We can feel a nagging pit in our stomach.
We know that we've strayed from ourselves.
We know that something's just not quite right with how we're living.
You might even find yourself wondering if life could be different.
Because we know deep inside that there has to be a better way.
We know that we could and should be living an authentic,
Vibrant life filled with joy.
The beauty is that no matter how far we've strayed,
We can always return to our true nature.
By simply noticing and acknowledging that feeling in your heart or your soul is the very first step.
Having that awareness,
Trusting your awareness and trusting that inner guidance.
The easiest way to return to yourself is through meditation.
Because it's in a meditation practice that we get friendly with our true self in the moment.
We allow ourselves to let go.
Take off our masks.
We untangle from life.
We just sit with ourself.
We love ourself.
We remember who we are.
And we just allow ourselves to simply be.
In meditation,
There's no pressure.
There's no judgment.
There's no expectations.
When you meditate,
You're bringing your mind,
Your body and your soul together.
Reconnecting all of those beautiful parts of yourself.
Coming into a state of blissful harmony.
So now let's turn inward.
And even just for now,
Let's free ourselves from that outside world.
Let's be unbothered by our thoughts.
Let's become friendly with our soul.
And as we begin,
I invite you to make sure that you're very comfortable.
Somewhere that you can be seated upright,
Feeling open and supported.
So that could be a cushion on the floor or supportive chair.
But number one is always finding comfort in our practice.
So that it's something we look forward to something we want to return to day after day.
And once you're comfortably seated,
Just take a moment to ground and settle into your body.
So you can just gently roll your shoulders forward.
And then roll them back.
You can gently circle your neck to the right.
And then to the left.
Beginning to release any tension.
And take a full breath in.
And when you exhale,
Just let your eyes flow closed.
Meet yourself right where you are.
Feel your body start to ease.
With every exhale,
Letting go of tension.
Letting go of anxiety.
Letting go of stress.
Letting go of anything that's heavy.
Feel yourself already becoming lighter.
And just breathe here.
Noticing your breath just as it is.
Not changing it.
Just watching it.
Watching it drift in and out.
Feeling your chest rise and fall.
Now bring your attention to your heart.
If it helps,
You can even place your hand over your heart.
Just feel yourself breathing in and out of this space.
Little slower and a little deeper.
And a comfortable,
Easy rhythm.
Simply flowing in and out with ease.
And now take a full breath in.
And when you exhale,
Release any labels that you wear.
Mom,
Dad,
Husband,
Wife,
Coworker,
Sister,
Brother,
Friend.
Just let it go.
Take another full breath in.
And when you exhale,
Release every expectation that you've placed on yourself or allowed to be placed on you by someone else.
Just let it go.
And take another breath in.
And when you exhale,
Release any unkind words or thoughts that you've said to yourself that you should do more or be more.
You should look different or be different.
Just let it all go.
And with all of this releasing,
Comes space.
So now I'd like you to take a full breath in.
And when you inhale,
Breathe in freedom.
Now when you inhale,
Breathe in spaciousness.
And on this inhale,
Breathe in self-compassion.
Now inhale light.
And inhale love.
Just feel yourself floating with your breath.
Know that you are fully in this moment.
You rest here as nothing but yourself.
Your pure tender heart and soul.
And now let's take our meditation a little deeper.
We'll use the Sanskrit mantra,
Sat,
Chit,
Ananda.
Sat,
Chit,
Ananda.
Sat means truth.
Chit is awareness.
And Ananda means all the qualities of joy,
Fulfillment and love in their highest forms.
And when we put it together,
Sat,
Chit,
Ananda,
This mantra describes the full reality of our true self,
Who we really are,
Joyful,
Loving,
Fulfilled beings.
So just silently repeat this mantra over and over.
Allow yourself to feel it rise from your heart and move through your being.
And when you've drifted away to thoughts or sounds or sensation,
Just smile and gently return to the mantra.
It's a gentle practice of drifting back and forth.
Sat,
Chit,
Ananda.
I'll watch the time.
And when you hear my voice,
Just sit gently with your eyes closed.
Let's begin.
